To fully kit a weapon in How to Fish, equip one attachment in each of its four slots: extended magazine, laser sight, optic, and muzzle. You do not need every attachment variant. For a straightforward late-game choice, the assault rifle is a practical target, but it is not established as the only or universally best weapon.
What counts as a fully kitted weapon?
The achievement condition described by the attachment guide is to have all four slots occupied on the same weapon at the same time:

Choose one optic and one muzzle. The guide says you do not need to collect both options in either slot. This achievement rule is reported by a secondary guide; the official patch announcement discussed below does not document the full achievement condition.

Weapon: assault rifle for a late-game target
The attachment guide recommends the assault rifle as a natural weapon to kit out for final-boss preparation. It is a practical pick if you expect to keep using it, not a proven universal best. A separate weapons guide recognizes a route using a maxed SMG instead, so the achievement is not presented as requiring the rifle.

NerdsChalk Staff’s 2026 guide reports a $20,000 base price, a 30-round magazine, 40-to-100 damage across 12 levels, and $30,550 to max the assault rifle’s upgrades. These are guide-reported game values, not figures verified against official game data.
Optic: red dot or sniper scope
Either option fills the optic slot. The sources do not provide controlled performance comparisons, so choose based on how you intend to use the weapon rather than treating one as objectively superior. The attachment guide says the sniper scope is an additional option on Island 4.
Muzzle: decide before buying
The attachment guide favors a suppressor for its late-game assault-rifle setup, pairing it with the laser sight for hip-fire output. It suggests a compensator earlier when recoil control is the priority. Those are guide recommendations, not independently tested performance results.
Choose deliberately: in its September 1, 2026 announcement, the developers stated, “You can no longer downgrade from suppressor to compensator.” The same official patch 1.0.11 notes say the purchasable iron sight was removed because players were buying it by mistake and losing their other attachments. Avoid older instructions that tell you to buy an iron sight or switch from suppressor back to compensator.

When can you assemble the setup?
The attachment guide reports that a four-slot setup is possible from Island 3, while Island 4 adds the sniper scope and suppressor options. It also advises waiting until Volcano Island if money is the main obstacle, saying funds come together more quickly there. Treat these as guide-reported progression tips rather than a guaranteed route or fixed earning schedule.

Steps to get the achievement
- Pick the weapon. Use one you expect to keep using; the assault rifle is the guide’s late-game recommendation, while a maxed SMG is another reported route.
- Fill the four slots. Equip an extended magazine, laser sight, one optic, and one muzzle on that weapon.
- Check the weapon itself. Confirm all four attachments are equipped simultaneously on the same weapon. Buying alternate optics or muzzles is not required according to the attachment guide.
- Choose the muzzle with the current rules in mind. The official patch 1.0.11 notes say a suppressor can no longer be downgraded to a compensator.
