How to unlock the grill on Island 3
- Reach Island 3 and speak to the grill master beside the unlit grill.
- Buy the Standard Boss Lure for $280. This is different from the cheaper Standard Lure, which the guides say will not summon the Blue Shark. Game Playbook and GameLeap report the price and distinction.
- Equip the boss lure and cast to summon the Blue Shark. Defeat it, then carry it to the grill master.
- Hand over the shark to light the grill and unlock the Grillmaster achievement.
The guides recommend moving sideways to evade the shark and attacking from a safe distance. One guide says a maxed Uzi is sufficient, but that is advice from a third-party guide, not an established equipment requirement.

How to cook an item without burning it
- Hold the fish or other item over the grill flame.
- Press F to display the live Value and multiplier readout.
- Watch the multiplier rise from 1x and remove the item when it reaches 1.5x.

Keep cooked fish for healing and hunger
Guides report that cooked fish restore more health and hunger than raw fish. Keep some for recovery, especially if you are preparing for a boss, rather than selling your entire supply.
Leave gear you want to use uncooked
Cooking weapons or gear changes their sale value, not their combat stats, so only cook equipment you intend to sell. One guide also reports that cooking a decorated weapon may affect its visible cosmetics; treat that as a secondary-source warning.

Do not use burning as a money strategy
A burned catch is reported to have zero sale value and restore very little health or hunger. Although guides mention burning as an achievement task, it is not a useful way to earn money or preserve supplies.

Island 3: cook catches after completing quests
Use the newly unlocked grill to cook sellable catches to 1.5x, but complete relevant fish quests first. Keep cooked fish if you still need healing or hunger supplies.
Island 4: use regular catches for a repeatable loop
The guide recommends regular Island 4 fish with the $50 Professional Lure as a repeatable route. It does not provide comparable earnings-per-hour figures, so the evidence does not establish this as universally the fastest method.

Island 5: use lava to avoid grill timing
At Island 5, lava is described as cooking items to the same 1.5x result without the grill’s timing risk. It is a later-game option, not a substitute available before reaching that island.

Which cooking route should you use?
- You just unlocked cooking: Use the Island 3 grill for sellable catches, and remove each item at 1.5x.
- You need supplies for a boss: Keep a stack of cooked fish for healing and hunger instead of selling everything.
- You are farming regular catches: Consider the Island 4 Professional Lure loop described by Game Playbook.
- You have reached Island 5: Lava can provide the reported 1.5x cooking result without the grill’s timing step.
The guides do not establish a single fastest route across all stages: they do not give comparable earnings-per-hour measurements. Your choice depends on progression, whether you still need quest fish or healing supplies, and whether you prefer the grill’s timing step or the later lava method.
