How to start A Knight’s Tales
Look for the bleeding tree near a lumberjack’s clearing in Toussaint and speak with Jacob, the woodcutter. He wants Geralt to free Daphne from a curse. This begins the quest’s investigation; it does not commit you to a resolution.
Investigate the hut and find Sir Gareth’s remains

Find Sir Gareth’s remains as part of the investigation. A search-result summary for Game8 also highlights finding his bone before returning to the cursed tree, but that specific sequencing advice is not independently verified here.

Choose how to handle Daphne’s curse
The quest’s journal summaries describe three consequential approaches. Choose based on the outcome you are willing to accept, not simply on which route sounds easiest.

Complete the route you chose
Once you commit to an approach, follow its objectives and return to the bleeding tree to resolve the encounter. The quest can call for different tasks depending on your choice, including fighting a wraith, confronting the witch, tracking Jacob, or carrying out a disenchanting ritual. These are route-specific possibilities, not one checklist to complete in sequence; use the active quest objectives for your chosen branch.
Quest reward and expansion access
Games Lantern lists the quest reward as 150 XP and 100 crowns. This is third-party guide information, rather than an official publisher reward listing.
A Knight’s Tales is part of Blood and Wine. BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe’s official game page says the Complete Edition includes both story expansions, including Blood and Wine, and lists physical editions for multiple platforms. Check the page for the edition and platform relevant to you; buying the Complete Edition is only relevant if you do not already have access to the expansion. The same page describes the game as offering “over 100 hours of core and side-quest gameplay”—a game-wide figure, not an estimate for this quest.
