Find your channel’s YouTube ingest settings in YouTube Studio: open Create → Go live, select the Stream tab in Live Control Room, then copy the stream URL and stream key from Stream settings. Enter the URL in your encoder’s server field and the key in its stream-key field. Prefer RTMPS, YouTube’s encrypted option. These settings are provided in your channel’s Live Control Room; YouTube’s setup guidance does not specify a separate India-only endpoint.
Find your stream URL and key in YouTube Studio

For a new encoder feed, open the Stream tab in Live Control Room. The stream URL and key appear under Stream settings. If you want an upcoming watch page, choose Manage → Schedule stream instead.

Copy both values into your encoder: the stream URL goes in its server or URL field, and the stream key goes in its stream-key field. Some encoders offer a YouTube preset that fills in the server details; you still need the correct key for your channel’s stream.

Start the encoder feed. For a scheduled broadcast, wait until the feed appears in Live Control Room preview, then select Go live there to begin the broadcast.
Choose RTMPS and protect the stream key
Reveal the RTMPS URL
YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the connection between encoder and YouTube. In Live Control Room’s Stream settings, use the lock control beside Stream URL to reveal the RTMPS address. Select it in the encoder if the software provides a protocol choice.
If the encoder reports an SSL error, check that both the protocol scheme and host are set to RTMPS, not a mismatched RTMP address. If the encoder allows a port to be specified, YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance suggests port 443.

Treat the key like a password
YouTube describes stream keys as password-like. Do not publish or share the key: someone who has it may be able to send a feed to your stream. If it is exposed, a channel owner or manager can reset it in Live Control Room’s Stream tab. Update the encoder with the replacement key before sending the feed again.
Set encoder video parameters
Use YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance and choose values supported by both your encoder and source. Its recommendations include H.264, HEVC, and AV1 video codecs, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds between keyframes. Bitrate and resolution should match the source, encoder capability, and the current YouTube recommendations for your chosen format rather than an arbitrary India-specific preset.
Before relying on a long-running broadcast, confirm the encoder’s selected preset and output are accepted in YouTube’s preview. A successful connection alone does not confirm that the intended picture, audio, or archive behavior is correct.

Schedule and test a long-running broadcast
Use a scheduled watch page when viewers need notice
In Live Control Room, open Manage → Schedule stream and configure the upcoming broadcast. Communicate the start time clearly to the intended Indian audience. The reviewed YouTube setup guidance does not establish a specific timezone display rule, so verify the time shown on the watch page rather than assuming how it will appear to viewers.
Run a preflight check

Set up the encoder at least two hours before the scheduled start, as YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend.

Start sending the encoder feed at least 15 minutes before the event. Check that the preview appears in Live Control Room before selecting Go live.

Test backup-encoder failover in advance if you have a backup. Confirm that local archive files are growing, and check the channel and watch page on mobile.

Monitor picture and audio quality during the broadcast. A stream key and an encoder connection do not replace ongoing checks of the actual feed.

Plan around YouTube’s 12-hour archive limit
A literal uninterrupted 24-hour session is not a reliable way to create a complete YouTube replay. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That is an archive-capture warning, not a statement that continuous streaming itself is prohibited.

If replay matters, plan shorter broadcast sessions that end before the 12-hour threshold and retain a local recording as a backup. Include the session handoff in your operating plan so the encoder, Live Control Room, and audience are not left dependent on one uninterrupted session.
What is different for an Indian channel?
The ingest workflow is account-specific, not an India-only process: retrieve the stream URL and key from the channel’s own Live Control Room. YouTube’s reviewed setup pages do not specify a distinct Indian RTMP endpoint or separate India-only ingest steps. The practical India-specific task is to make the scheduled start time clear to your audience and verify the watch-page time display.
