While your cartoon stream is live, open YouTube Studio and go to Create → Go Live. In Live Control Room, find the stream’s Stream health or Stream status area and check the Health Indicator near the top. Read each warning and its timestamp: red signals a critical error; yellow signals a moderate issue that may reduce quality.
Find the warning in YouTube Studio
- Open Live Control Room: Sign in to YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then open the relevant encoder stream in the stream or dashboard view. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions begin from Create and Go Live and direct creators to the Stream tab.
- Locate stream health: On the live dashboard, look for Stream health or Stream status. The errors appear beside the Health Indicator near the top of Live Control Room. YouTube’s live-stream metrics guidance describes the dashboard metrics.
- Read the exact message and timestamp: YouTube says its status includes specific error messages with instructions. Each error is timestamped; if it remains unfixed, it continues to appear. After making a correction, check whether the message or timestamp changes. See YouTube’s live-stream error message guidance.
Understand red and yellow warnings
- Red: Critical. YouTube says red errors may prevent the event from starting or cause problems for viewers.
- Yellow: Moderate. The issue may degrade stream quality.
Color establishes severity, not the root cause. Use the warning’s own wording and instructions to decide what to inspect. An error’s continued presence means it remains unresolved; do not assume it has cleared just because the stream is still playing.

What to check after a warning appears
Check the encoder feed and settings
Confirm that the encoder is sending the intended video and audio feed and that its configured output is appropriate for your connection. YouTube recommends testing before going live, monitoring health messages during the event, and choosing settings that fit available bandwidth. Its encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance covers configuration. Do not change settings blindly: follow the warning text, then test the effect.

Check preview, audio, and viewer access
Inspect the Live Control Room preview and confirm that the cartoon video is moving and audio is present and intelligible. YouTube recommends checking the stream on the channel and watch pages, including on mobile, and monitoring audio and video quality. A preview that looks correct is useful, but also verify the viewer-facing pages. See YouTube’s live streaming tips.

Check upload capacity and connection stability
Compare the stream’s total bitrate with available upload bandwidth, and leave headroom rather than using the full connection capacity. YouTube notes that a network disruption can break a stream; adequate outbound upload capacity matters for continuous broadcasts. Test and monitor a 24/7 cartoon broadcast
- Before starting or changing the stream, run a test and inspect the Live Control Room preview.
- During the broadcast, keep an eye on health messages and confirm that the video and audio remain normal.
- When you fix an issue, recheck the warning text and timestamp rather than assuming the correction worked.
- Verify the channel and watch pages, including on mobile, so you know the stream is accessible to viewers.
YouTube’s encoder setup page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. The guidance does not establish how a particular channel’s 24/7 broadcast is divided or archived, so check your channel’s actual stream and archive behavior. See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
