For the clearest view of what people are watching, use a service’s own chart for its own popularity signal, then use a cross-service chart to discover titles and check where they’re available. Netflix publishes its Top 10 lists; JustWatch offers country-specific streaming charts spanning multiple services. Their rankings measure different kinds of activity, so they are useful for discovery but should not be treated as directly comparable scores.
Check Netflix’s own Top 10 for its popularity signal
Netflix says its Top 10 Shows and Top 10 Movies appear on the home screen and update daily. The lists show the most-watched titles in a country where the feature is available. You can also visit top10.netflix.com; Netflix Help Center says those lists are updated weekly, so the site and in-app chart may not have the same update cadence. For more detail, Netflix’s Tudum charts let you view rankings by country and category, and look up a title’s ranking history across time and countries. The U.S. chart identifies its reporting week. When you share a rank, include that country and week rather than presenting it as a timeless or worldwide position. Explore Netflix’s Top 10 charts.

JustWatch’s streaming charts are a practical way to see popular titles across services and then check availability. Choose your country and whether you want the chart for the last 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. JustWatch says its charts are updated daily and calculated from activity such as clicking a streaming offer, adding a title to a watchlist, or marking it as seen. Its live chart page describes coverage of 140 countries and 4,500 streaming services, and says it has more than 50 million monthly users; these are JustWatch’s own claims, not independent audience measurements. Use the chart for discovery, then confirm availability and the relevant service on the title’s listing. A chart rank tells you how a title is performing within that chart’s scope and period; it does not establish a universal streaming-service ranking.
How to compare streaming charts fairly
Before comparing a Netflix rank with a cross-service chart—or one country’s chart with another—check what each list actually measures:

These distinctions matter: Netflix reports popularity on its platform, while JustWatch’s chart reflects activity among users of its discovery service. Neither source says the two ranks use a shared measurement standard. A title’s position on one chart therefore cannot be read as an equivalent amount of viewing—or as proof it would hold the same rank elsewhere.

Netflix says it began publishing weekly Top 10 and Most Popular lists in 2021. Its What We Watched reports summarize hours viewed over six months; in its 2026 report, Netflix said it plans to move to yearly snapshots starting in Q1 2027. That is a stated future plan, so check Netflix’s current reporting before relying on the schedule. A quick routine for choosing what to watch
- Start with a broad scan: open your country’s JustWatch chart and select the time window that suits you—24 hours for a recent pulse, or 7 or 30 days for a wider period.
- Check Netflix separately: use the app’s Top 10 or Netflix’s charts to see what is popular on the service itself. Note the country and reporting period.
- Confirm the match: verify the title is available in your country and on the service you intend to use; availability and rankings are not the same thing.
- Keep the comparison honest: when mentioning a rank, state the chart, country, category, and period. Don’t compare positions as if each chart measures total viewing in the same way.
