How to Find the Best-Selling Nintendo Switch 2 Games in the eShop

The quickest way to find Nintendo’s current best-selling selection is to open the Nintendo US store’s Best-selling games page. It covers games for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, so open each product page and confirm the system and edition before treating a title as a Switch 2 game.

On a Switch 2 console, open Nintendo eShop, choose Search/Browse, enter a keyword, and select Search. Use Filter or the sorting-options dropdown to narrow the results, then inspect the game’s detail page. Nintendo’s worldwide sales table is useful for lifetime popularity, but it is not a live, regional eShop ranking.

Start with Nintendo’s official best-selling page

For a broad, current view, use Nintendo’s US store page titled Best-selling games. Nintendo states that this page covers software for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Because the page is dynamically rendered, its order can change and the text version does not establish a fixed chart window, ranking method, or Switch 2-only filter. Treat the live page as the source of the current storefront listing rather than copying an unverified “top 10” into a static list.

When you open a title from that page, check the product detail screen for the platform label and edition. A game may appear because it is popular across the Switch family, while its listing may represent the original Nintendo Switch release, a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, or a title that supports both systems. The product page is the authoritative place to verify what you can play and which version you are buying.

#1 Best Overall
Mario Kart™ World (Nintendo Switch 2)
  • Race from one course to another through interconnected paths that span the world
  • Traverse mountains, forests, cities, and more—with shifting weather patterns and a day/night cycle
  • Ride on rails, jump off walls, skim across water, and more as you race for the finish line
  • Take on the adrenaline-packed Knockout Tour—a fierce 24-driver elimination mode
  • Explore courses at your own pace and wander the world to discover fun surprises in Free Roam

What the US page can answer

  • Which games Nintendo is currently presenting in its US best-selling storefront section.
  • Whether a listed product is marked for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, or both.
  • What edition, bundle, upgrade option, or downloadable content is attached to that product listing.

What it does not establish by itself

  • A Switch 2-exclusive sales ranking.
  • A stated period such as “today,” “this week,” or “all time.”
  • A unit-sales total or a guaranteed ordering based only on eShop purchases.

If you need a platform-specific answer, use the storefront listing as a discovery tool and then verify the platform and edition on every individual product page.

Find games directly on a Switch 2 console

Nintendo Support’s documented search flow lets you search the eShop and refine the results. The exact labels can vary slightly with system software or region, but the process is:

  1. Open Nintendo eShop from the Switch 2 HOME Menu.
  2. Choose Search/Browse.
  3. Enter a game title, character, series, or other keyword.
  4. Select Search to display matching products.
  5. Select Filter or open the sorting-options dropdown to reduce the result set.
  6. Open a game’s product detail page and read the platform, edition, price, age rating, supported features, and release information.

Nintendo’s Support wording is: “If you would like to narrow your search further, select Filter or use the sorting options dropdown to limit the search results.” That instruction confirms that search supports refinement; it does not state that every sorting option is a best-seller ranking. Do not interpret a generic sort such as release date, price, or title as a sales chart unless Nintendo explicitly labels it that way.

Use keywords that separate editions

Search with the franchise name first, then add a platform or edition term when needed. For example, searching a series name can reveal the original Switch product, a Switch 2 Edition, downloadable content, demos, and bundles in one result set. Adding “Switch 2” or the exact subtitle helps reduce false matches, but the final check still belongs on the product detail page.

Check the product detail page before buying

Look for the platform badge or compatibility statement near the title. Read whether the product is a native Switch 2 game, a Nintendo Switch game that runs on Switch 2, or a Switch 2 Edition that includes enhanced features. Also check whether the displayed price is for the complete game, an upgrade, a bundle, or an add-on. A prominent title in search results is not proof that the listed SKU is the version you want.

Rank #2
Nintendo Switch 2 System with Mario Kart World Game Bundle
  • The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
  • One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
  • Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
  • Race from one course to another through interconnected paths that span the world
  • Traverse mountains, forests, cities, and more—with shifting weather patterns and a day/night cycle

Locate downloadable content

To find DLC, search for the base game, open its details, and scroll to the Downloadable Content section. This is separate from determining whether the base game is popular. DLC entries can appear alongside the game in search, but their sales are not automatically equivalent to the game’s position on a best-selling list.

Keep four different kinds of “popular” separate

Readers often compare lists that measure different things. Before calling one game “the best-selling Switch 2 game,” identify the storefront, region, platform, period, and counting method.

List or source Geography and platform Time window What is counted Best use Main limitation
Nintendo US Best-selling games page US storefront; Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch Not stated in the retrieved page text; live ordering can change Storefront ranking as presented by Nintendo; methodology not exposed in the retrieved text See what Nintendo is currently surfacing to US shoppers Not a confirmed Switch 2-only chart or published unit-sales table
Nintendo eShop regional chart Depends on the region and system named by that chart Often a stated period such as the previous month eShop sales data for the stated region and system Compare recent regional digital popularity Cannot be transferred to another region, system, or month without qualification
Nintendo IR top-selling software table Worldwide; software titles and editions listed by Nintendo Life-to-date, with figures current through June 30, 2026 Worldwide units, including downloads and quantities bundled with hardware or other products Understand long-run commercial performance Not eShop-only, not a live chart, and not limited to one country

Whenever you compare two rankings, write down four descriptors first: storefront or region, system and edition, period, and accounting method. A US live page, a UK previous-month chart, and a worldwide lifetime table can all be accurate while producing different orders.

What Nintendo’s worldwide lifetime figures show

Nintendo’s investor-relations table reports worldwide consolidated sales in units life-to-date. The published figures below are current through June 30, 2026. They include downloads and quantities bundled with hardware or other products, so they are broader than eShop purchases.

Title Worldwide life-to-date units Scope and qualification
Mario Kart World 15.39 million Nintendo Co., Ltd. figure, worldwide life-to-date, as of June 30, 2026
Donkey Kong Bananza 4.78 million Nintendo Co., Ltd. figure, worldwide life-to-date, as of June 30, 2026
Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition 3.99 million Nintendo Co., Ltd. figure, worldwide life-to-date, as of June 30, 2026; Nintendo says combined sales with the Nintendo Switch version reach 13.09 million
Pokémon Pokopia 3.68 million Nintendo Co., Ltd. figure, worldwide life-to-date, as of June 30, 2026; Nintendo notes that the total includes units sold outside Japan where Nintendo is the publisher
Kirby Air Riders 1.90 million Nintendo Co., Ltd. figure, worldwide life-to-date, as of June 30, 2026
Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition 1.15 million Nintendo Co., Ltd. figure, worldwide life-to-date, as of June 30, 2026; Nintendo says combined sales with the Switch edition reach 11.52 million

Nintendo’s published note says: “The numbers shown above are worldwide consolidated sales in units life-to-date.” That definition explains why these numbers should not be presented as current US eShop positions. They include physical and digital sales, and the bundled-copy accounting can add units that never appeared as a separate eShop transaction.

How Switch 2 Edition accounting works

Nintendo’s table uses a specific rule for Switch 2 Edition software: packaged versions are counted under Switch 2 software, while downloadable versions are counted under Switch software. That classification means the platform label in a lifetime table may not match the way a shopper sees a digital product in the eShop. Use the table to understand Nintendo’s reported software totals, not to infer how many copies were downloaded on Switch 2 in your country.

How to use a regional eShop chart correctly

Nintendo of Europe’s UK eShop charts illustrate why region and period matter. The UK page says its chart lists the previous month’s most popular eShop games and is updated regularly based on Nintendo eShop sales data on Nintendo Switch. That is a regional, period-specific digital chart. It is not evidence of the current US ranking and does not establish a Switch 2-only order.

If you consult any regional chart, record the following next to the list:

  • Region: for example, UK or US.
  • System: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, or a combined family listing.
  • Period: current storefront, previous month, or another stated interval.
  • Measure: eShop sales data, worldwide units, or another method named by Nintendo.

Do not merge a regional monthly chart with Nintendo’s lifetime table and call the result a single ranking. The sources answer different questions and use different populations of sales.

A practical workflow for choosing a popular Switch 2 game

1. Decide which question you are asking

If you want to know what US shoppers are seeing now, start with the US Best-selling games page. If you want a game that has sold strongly over its entire commercial life, consult the worldwide table. If you want recent digital momentum in a particular market, find that market’s dated eShop chart.

Rank #4
Mario Kart World Standard - Nintendo Switch 2 [Digital Code]
  • Race from one course to another through interconnected paths that span the world
  • Traverse mountains, forests, cities, and more—with shifting weather patterns and a day/night cycle
  • Ride on rails, jump off walls, skim across water, and more as you race for the finish line
  • Take on the adrenaline-packed Knockout Tour—a fierce 24-driver elimination mode

2. Build a shortlist in the eShop

Use Search/Browse and a keyword, then apply Filter or sorting options. Keep the result set small enough to inspect carefully. Search results can contain games, editions, demos, bundles, and DLC, so do not count every tile as a separate full game.

3. Verify the exact product

Open each candidate’s detail page. Confirm the Switch 2 label, edition name, included content, and whether an upgrade is required. If two entries share a title, compare their platform and edition text rather than relying on the thumbnail.

4. Check the sales claim’s scope

For a statement such as “best-selling,” add the source’s region and period. For a number such as 15.39 million, add “worldwide life-to-date, as of June 30, 2026” and explain that the total includes downloads and bundled quantities. This prevents a lifetime figure from being mistaken for today’s eShop rank.

5. Recheck before publishing or sharing

Storefront rankings are dynamic. Return to the live Nintendo page and product detail screen when you are ready to buy or report the result. A title’s position may change after a new release, promotion, holiday period, or regional update.

Troubleshooting common misunderstandings

The page shows Switch games as well as Switch 2 games

That is expected on Nintendo’s US best-selling page, which covers both systems. Use the product page’s platform and edition information to isolate Switch 2-compatible or Switch 2-native products.

Best Value
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe - US Version
  • A variety of playable characters are available, some with unique attributes that affect gameplay and platforming physics.
  • Younger and less-experienced players will love playing as Toadette, who is brand new to both games, and Nabbit, who was formerly only playable in New Super Luigi U. Both characters offer extra assistance during play.
  • Multiplayer sessions are even more fun, frantic, and exciting thanks to entertaining character interactions. Need a boost? Try jumping off a teammate’s head or getting a teammate to throw you.
  • Features a wealth of help features, like a Hints gallery, reference videos, and a Super Guide in New Super Mario Bros. U that can complete levels for you if they’re giving you trouble.
  • Three additional modes—Boost Rush, Challenges, and Coin Battle—mix up gameplay and add replayability, while also upping the difficulty for players who want to try something harder. Players can use their Mii characters in these modes.

A game appears in search, but there is no Switch 2 Edition label

Read the compatibility text and edition name. It may be the original Switch release that runs on Switch 2 rather than a separately marketed Switch 2 Edition. Do not infer enhanced features from compatibility alone.

The list order conflicts with Nintendo’s lifetime sales table

The two lists measure different things. The eShop page is a live storefront presentation with no published fixed window in the retrieved text; the investor-relations table is worldwide life-to-date units that include downloads and bundled quantities. Neither automatically supersedes the other.

You cannot find DLC from the game’s search result

Open the base game’s details and scroll to Downloadable Content. DLC can be listed separately from the base game and should not be treated as a separate full-game best seller.

You want a current Switch 2-only chart

Do not label the combined US page as Switch 2-only. Check whether Nintendo provides a platform-specific chart in your region, and state the chart’s date and system. If no such filter is provided, report the limitation instead of manufacturing a platform-only ranking.

How to report your result accurately

A precise sentence includes the evidence type in the same breath as the claim. For example: “Nintendo’s US Best-selling games page currently lists titles for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch; the product page confirms whether this entry is a Switch 2 Edition.” For lifetime performance, write: “Nintendo reports Mario Kart World at 15.39 million worldwide life-to-date units as of June 30, 2026, including downloads and bundled quantities.” Neither sentence implies a current US digital-unit ranking.

If you are making a personal shortlist, record the date you checked the storefront, your Nintendo Account region, the exact edition, and whether the product was a game, bundle, upgrade, or DLC. Those details make the result reproducible even after the live page changes.

The answer in one decision

Use Nintendo’s US Best-selling games page for the live storefront view, then verify each title on its Switch 2 product page. Use the console’s Search/Browse, Filter, and sorting controls to find and refine candidates. Use Nintendo’s investor-relations totals only when you mean worldwide lifetime software sales, and use a regional eShop chart only with its stated market, system, and month. Keeping those scopes separate is the reliable way to answer what is popular without confusing a current eShop listing with an all-time sales table.
