The most reliable way to find a tech job in Finland is to use several channels at once: search the official Job Market Finland service and Work in Finland, add Finnish boards such as Duunitori and Jobly plus LinkedIn Jobs, check the dedicated government and municipal portals, register with recruitment agencies that cover your specialty, and contact suitable employers directly. No single site carries every vacancy.
International candidates should start with the English-language listings on Work in Finland and Jobs in Finland, then verify their own right to work through current official guidance. Job searching and immigration status are related but separate tasks.

| Job Market Finland (Työmarkkinatori) | General Finnish market; Finnish and some English content | Official public employment service and vacancy search | Search vacancies and complete the relevant e-services registration when you need public employment support |
| Work in Finland / Jobs in Finland | English-language and international candidates | Employers recruiting internationally, including technology companies | Filter for Technology and Software Development, then check each employer’s own application instructions |
| Duunitori and Jobly | Broad Finnish job market | Private-sector employers and recruitment advertisements | Run searches in English and Finnish, save alerts, and vary titles and locations |
| LinkedIn Jobs | International and professional audiences | Companies using LinkedIn recruiting workflows | Search by role, location and language; apply on the employer site when directed |
| Valtiolle.fi | Applicants for central-government roles | Finnish state agencies and ministries | Search separately from private boards and follow the stated government application process |
| Kuntarekry.fi | Applicants for local public services | Municipalities, cities and associated public organisations | Search city and municipal vacancies, including IT and digital-service roles |
| Recruitment and staffing agencies | Varies by specialty and language | Employers outsourcing sourcing or hiring for permanent and temporary work | Register with agencies that match your field and submit a focused open application |
| Employer websites and networks | Any language the employer uses | Roles that may not be advertised publicly | Follow target companies, contact relevant hiring teams and ask about suitable openings |
Use the official and private channels in parallel. Public employment registration can provide services and obligations, but it does not replace applying for jobs that fit your skills.

Start with Job Market Finland (Työmarkkinatori)
Job Market Finland is the official Finnish information portal for vacancies and employment services. EURES describes it as the public employment-services website. It is an important part of a Finnish search because it combines vacancy information with access to public e-services.
Search vacancies, then handle registration separately
Open the vacancy search and filter by occupation, location and other available criteria. When the service directs you to register or use an e-service, treat that as a public-service step: provide the requested information, keep your profile current and follow any instructions that apply to your situation. Registration does not automatically put you forward for every suitable job. You still need to read each advertisement and submit the required application by its deadline.
Use Finnish and English terms
Technology titles differ between employers. Run separate searches for terms such as software developer, software engineer, frontend developer, backend developer, full-stack developer, data engineer, cloud engineer, DevOps, cybersecurity, QA, product manager, UX designer and technical support. Add Finnish alternatives where relevant, and repeat the search with nearby cities or a nationwide location because filters and employer naming are not consistent.
Find English-speaking roles through Work in Finland
Work in Finland provides searchable English-language vacancies, and its Jobs in Finland listings include category filters for Technology and Software Development. This is a practical first stop if you do not yet speak Finnish or Swedish.
A useful search sequence
- Choose the English-language vacancy view. Start with the technology or software-development category instead of a generic keyword search.
- Test several titles. Search both the job title you want and adjacent titles used in Finnish companies. For example, a platform-engineering role may be labelled DevOps, cloud or infrastructure.
- Change the location filter. Run separate searches for Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Turku, Oulu and remote or hybrid options where those filters exist. Do not assume a role listed for one city is available nationwide.
- Read the language requirement in the advertisement. An English-language listing may still specify Finnish or Swedish for customer-facing, regulated or public-sector work.
- Apply through the stated route. Some listings accept applications in the portal; others send you to the employer’s career page. Save the original closing date and required documents.
Listing totals on Work in Finland change continuously. They are live vacancy counts, not stable labour-market statistics, so do not use a number seen on the site as a lasting measure of demand.
Use Jobs in Finland as a discovery tool, not a guarantee
Suomi.fi also directs job seekers to Jobs in Finland. Treat every listing as an invitation to check the employer, role, location, language and work-eligibility requirements. A vacancy being visible in an English-language service does not by itself establish that the employer can sponsor every applicant or that the role remains open.

Add the broad Finnish boards
TEK identifies Job Market Finland, Duunitori, Jobly and LinkedIn Jobs among commonly used Finnish services. Suomi.fi also names Duunitori and recommends online vacancy services. These boards give you more coverage than an international-only search, particularly for smaller companies and roles advertised primarily to people already in Finland.
Duunitori and Jobly
Create alerts for each core title, then repeat them with English and Finnish wording. Check the employer name, application channel and closing date before saving a vacancy. A board entry can be an advertisement from a staffing firm rather than the end employer, so note who will employ you and who will manage the process.
LinkedIn Jobs
Use the location, workplace type and experience filters, but do not rely on the “easy apply” option alone. Follow the employer’s company page, identify the hiring team or recruiter when appropriate, and apply on the official career site if the advertisement requests it. Keep your profile consistent with your CV: dates, job titles, technologies and location preferences should not conflict.
Search by skills as well as titles
Technology employers may describe the same work through a stack or business problem rather than a standard title. Combine a role with terms such as Python, Java, JavaScript, .NET, cloud, Kubernetes, embedded, machine learning, data, security, ERP, test automation or product. Add “English” only when the board’s search supports it; otherwise read the language section of each result.
Search public-sector technology roles separately
Government and municipal vacancies have dedicated portals and deserve their own search pass. Suomi.fi directs applicants to Valtiolle.fi for government jobs and Kuntarekry.fi for municipal and city vacancies.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsValtiolle.fi: central government
Search for digital services, information management, cybersecurity, data, software and project roles as well as generic IT titles. Read the eligibility, language and security requirements carefully. Government applications often require specific attachments or responses to questions, so follow the advertisement rather than sending a generic CV.

Kuntarekry.fi: cities and municipalities
Municipal employers hire technology staff for education, healthcare, transport, utilities, administration and shared digital platforms. Search individual cities as well as nationwide results, and check whether the listed employer is a city, a joint municipal authority or another public organisation. Finnish or Swedish language requirements may be more prominent in resident-facing work.
Why public portals are not duplicates of general boards
A public vacancy may be posted only in the employer’s required recruitment system or may use a different title and closing date from a private-board listing. Keep a separate tracker for portal name, reference number, deadline, required language and documents.
Use recruitment and staffing agencies strategically
TEK lists recruitment and staffing organisations including Academic Work, Adecco, aTalent, Barona, Biisoni and WiseIT, which it identifies as IT recruitment. EURES notes that employers use staffing companies and that candidates can submit open applications. The useful question is not which agency is largest; it is whether an agency regularly handles your specialty, seniority and preferred location.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Choose agencies that fit your profile
- Look for a clear technology practice rather than a general contact form with no role information.
- Check whether the agency handles permanent hiring, contracting, temporary assignments or a combination.
- Confirm the language level and locations its consultants normally recruit for.
- Register with one or more suitable agencies, but keep your own application tracker so you do not submit conflicting information.
Prepare an agency profile
Provide a concise CV, a current LinkedIn profile, technology keywords, years of experience, location or relocation limits, notice period, salary expectations if requested, and your work-eligibility status. State whether you can work in English only or also in Finnish or Swedish. Agencies can match you more accurately when these constraints are explicit.
Understand the relationship
The recruiter may be your contact while the client company makes the hiring decision. Ask who the legal employer would be, whether the assignment is temporary or permanent, where the work is performed, what language is used day to day, and what the next selection step involves. Never assume that registering with an agency counts as applying to every role it advertises.
Contact employers directly and use networks
EURES recommends following employer websites and social media, networking, contacting target employers and sending open applications because not all jobs are advertised publicly. Suomi.fi likewise recommends following companies and making direct contact.

Build a focused target list
- List 20–40 Finnish employers whose products, customers or engineering work match your experience.
- Check each career page weekly and follow its recruitment or engineering updates.
- Identify a plausible contact: a hiring manager, team lead, internal recruiter or public talent address.
- Send a short message naming the role or team you fit, two or three relevant achievements and a link to your CV or portfolio.
- Record the date and follow up once after a reasonable interval; do not send repeated identical messages.
Write an effective open application
Explain why that company and team interest you, what problem you can solve, the technologies you use, when you could start and where you can work. An open application is not a substitute for a formal application when a vacancy exists; submit both if the employer’s instructions allow it.

Use professional communities carefully
Meetups, technical conferences, alumni groups and online communities can reveal teams before a job is posted. Ask for information about the work and hiring process rather than requesting an immediate referral. Keep conversations professional and respect requests not to receive unsolicited CVs.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Guidance for English-speaking candidates
Begin with Work in Finland’s English-language vacancies and Jobs in Finland, then repeat the search on Duunitori, Jobly and LinkedIn Jobs. Search employer career pages directly and use the Technology and Software Development filters where available.
Do not infer language policy from the website
Read the full vacancy. Some teams operate in English but require Finnish or Swedish for customers, regulators, public services or safety-critical communication. Others describe the role in Finnish while accepting an English-speaking specialist. If the language requirement is unclear, ask the named contact before investing time in a long application.
Adapt documents to Finnish conventions without inventing information
- Put your location, relocation plan and earliest start date near the top.
- Describe results with context: system scale, team size, reliability, delivery or customer outcome where you can substantiate it.
- List work authorization accurately and state what remains to be arranged.
- Provide a portfolio, Git repository or case study only when it demonstrates relevant work and does not disclose confidential material.
- Use a clear file name and the format requested by the employer.
Check work eligibility before accepting a role
Job boards cannot determine your immigration status. Suomi.fi states that EU/EEA citizens may freely move to Finland and look for work; that statement is not universal for every nationality.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
If you are an EU/EEA citizen
Confirm the registration or notification steps that apply to your stay and employment, using current official Finnish guidance. Employers may still ask for identity, tax and registration information during onboarding.
Best Value
If you are from outside the EU/EEA
Check the current official immigration guidance for your nationality, job type and residence situation before relying on an offer. Requirements can depend on the occupation, permit category, salary and whether you are already in Finland. Tell employers the truth about your status and ask who handles any required documentation; do not promise that a company can sponsor you unless it has confirmed this.
Keep search and authorization tasks separate
You can research employers and apply while checking eligibility, but an application, interview or recruiter registration is not permission to work. Save the official guidance you used and recheck it when your circumstances or the rules change.
A practical four-week search plan
Week 1: establish coverage
- Create accounts or profiles on Job Market Finland, Work in Finland, Duunitori, Jobly and LinkedIn Jobs.
- Set alerts for three to five target titles and their close alternatives.
- Build a list of employers and note language, location and work-eligibility constraints.
- Prepare one accurate English CV and a modular cover-letter outline.
Week 2: add specialist routes
- Search Valtiolle.fi and Kuntarekry.fi for public-sector technology roles.
- Register with agencies whose technology practice matches your skills.
- Apply to roles that meet your criteria; tailor the opening and evidence for each one.
Week 3: start direct outreach
- Contact a small number of target employers with specific, evidence-based messages.
- Attend or join relevant professional communities.
- Review alerts and add Finnish or stack-specific keywords where results are thin.
Week 4: improve based on evidence
- Measure applications, recruiter replies, interviews and rejected applications in a spreadsheet.
- If you receive views but no interviews, revise role targeting and evidence in your CV.
- If you receive no views, fix keywords, profile visibility, location settings and application routing.
- Follow up once on active recruiter or employer conversations and close stale applications.
Common problems and fixes
“I see very few English-language vacancies.”
Use Work in Finland and Jobs in Finland first, then search employer sites and broad boards with technology-specific keywords. Expand locations and adjacent titles, and read listings written in Finnish for an English-language requirement or contact person.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →“I registered with a public service but no employer contacted me.”
Registration provides access to public employment services; it is not an automatic application to every vacancy. Continue applying directly and complete any requested service steps.
“The same job appears through several recruiters.”
Compare the legal employer, assignment type, location, closing date and application instructions. Tell each recruiter if you have already been submitted, and do not authorize duplicate submissions without understanding the consequence.
“I cannot tell whether a role is genuinely open.”
Check the employer’s own career page, the closing date and the named contact. Ask whether the position is still accepting applications before sending sensitive documents.
“I am unsure whether I can work in Finland.”
Use current official immigration guidance for your nationality and situation. Ask the employer what documentation it requires, but treat neither a board listing nor a recruiter profile as legal authorization.
Quick Recap

- Role title and close alternatives searched in English and, where useful, Finnish.
- Employer, location, workplace model and language requirement verified.
- Closing date and application route saved.
- CV and cover letter tailored to the stated skills.
- Portfolio or work samples checked for confidentiality.
- Work-eligibility status stated accurately.
- Application recorded so you can follow up once and avoid duplicate submissions.
