Ruined Homestead is in the southern part of The Blue Gate, beside Olive Grove. For the Sheltered Retreat photo objective, bring the in-game camera and photograph a farmland house there; if the first building does not count, try the farmhouse with a large hole.
Where Ruined Homestead is on The Blue Gate
Select The Blue Gate map and look in its southern region for Olive Grove. Ruined Homestead is nearby. The interactive map shows both labels, and PC Gamer also places the homestead by Olive Grove.

How to complete the Sheltered Retreat photo objective

Before deploying, put the in-game camera in your loadout. The PC Gamer guide says a camera is required for photo objectives and that a free loadout without one will not complete this step.

At Ruined Homestead, aim at a main farmland building and take a photo. The objective wording reported by PC Gamer is “take a photo of any farmland house around the Ruined Homestead on The Blue Gate map.” On PC, that guide lists right mouse button to aim and left mouse button to take the picture; controls can differ on other platforms.

If the photo does not register, try the farmhouse with the large hole. GamesRadar reports that this building worked for its author, but that is a practical fallback rather than an official guarantee.
How to get the in-game camera
PC Gamer’s guide, published 8 October 2026, describes the uncommon camera as available through three routes. These details may change in later game updates, so check the current in-game options if one does not match.
