For the most reliable Seahawks availability update, start with the team’s Seahawks Injury Updates archive, open the report for the specific game, and check the game-status field—not just the practice participation labels. Then cross-check the Seahawks injury-report table or NFL.com’s injury report, and check the official inactive list near kickoff. Reports are dated snapshots, so a status from earlier in the week may not reflect the final decision.
Where to find official Seahawks injury updates
Use the sources in this order, checking that each report is for the same matchup and week:

- Seahawks Injury Updates archive: seahawks.com/news/injury-updates/ is the best starting point for game-specific reports, coach updates, and reported in-game injury news.
- Seahawks injury-report table: the team’s injury-report table shows practice-day participation and the Seahawks’ label legend. Its surfaced Week 4 table included Seahawks and opponent rows.
- NFL.com Injuries: the league-wide report provides player, position, injury, practice-status, and game-status fields, and can serve as a cross-check.
- Game-day inactive list: Check the official list close to kickoff. It is a separate final availability check, not another practice report.
When sources differ, compare the matchup, report date, and update time before drawing a conclusion. A formal team or league designation is more authoritative than media speculation.

How to read practice participation and game status
Practice participation records what a player did during the practice week. Game status is the club’s stated designation for that game. The NFL policy explicitly treats these as separate pieces of information: its 2017 Injury Report Policy says, “The Practice Report is expected to provide clubs and the public an accurate description of a player’s injury status and his level of participation during the practice week.”

| Field | Label | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Practice participation | DNP | Did not participate. |
| Practice participation | LP | Limited participation. |
| Practice participation | FP | Full participation. |
| Game status | Out | Will not play. |
| Game status | Doubtful | Unlikely to play. |
| Game status | Questionable | Not certain to play. |
| Game status | — | No game-status designation is listed. |
The Seahawks’ report legend defines these labels. Don’t translate one practice entry into a definitive game prediction: participation and game status answer different questions. Under NFL policy, a player listed on the practice report but omitted from the game-status report is treated as certain to play under that policy. Still, use the latest report and verify the game-day inactive list.
A practical game-day availability check
- Open the Seahawks report for the upcoming game and note its date.
- Find the player’s latest practice participation and read the game-status field separately. Don’t infer the final status from a single practice day.
- If you want a second official source, compare the player on NFL.com’s injury report. Confirm both sources refer to the same game and report date.
- Recheck official updates close to kickoff, particularly for a player listed as Questionable or when a late event has been reported.
- Check the current inactive list. NFL Football Operations says it is delivered at the 90-minute officiating meeting.
Why the report date and kickoff check matter
Injury reports change during the week, and late developments can affect availability. NFL policy describes required reporting of changes after the initial report and immediate reporting of certain late events before the 90-minute inactive-list meeting. A weekly report is therefore a time-stamped update, not a permanent answer to “Is this player playing today?”
