For confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI news, start with Rockstar’s official GTA VI page and Rockstar Newswire. Rockstar also names its Propaganda email newsletter as an official information source. If a leak or viral post cannot be traced to one of Rockstar’s channels or a source Rockstar links to, treat it as unconfirmed—not as a confirmed announcement.
Where to find official GTA 6 news
Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI page is the best starting point. It features Newswire posts, trailers and other official media, and links to Rockstar’s social accounts. The Newswire carries Rockstar announcements and related material.

Rockstar Customer Support also directs readers to the official game site, Newswire and Rockstar Propaganda email newsletter for more information. In its Grand Theft Auto VI Pre-Order Information article, last updated June 26, 2026, Rockstar says: “The best places to find more information on GTAVI pre-orders are on the Grand Theft Auto VI official site, the Rockstar Newswire, and the Rockstar Propaganda email newsletter.”
How to check whether a GTA 6 leak is real
- Go to Rockstar’s site directly. Open the official GTA VI page rather than relying on a repost, thumbnail or search-result snippet. Check its featured Newswire posts and official media links.
- Look for the original Rockstar post. Check the Newswire and the official social or video accounts linked from Rockstar’s page. A post that only appears on an unrelated account is not an official confirmation.
- Compare the exact claim with the source. Verify what Rockstar actually published—not what a caption, voiceover or repost adds. An authentic trailer or screenshot does not prove extra details attached to it.
- Label unsupported claims accurately. If you cannot find an official post or source Rockstar links to, call the claim “unconfirmed” or “not confirmed by Rockstar.” Popularity and repost counts do not establish authenticity.
- Check again before sharing time-sensitive details. Release dates, platforms, editions and purchase routes can change, so use current Rockstar information rather than an old post.
Rockstar’s reviewed pages identify its official channels, but they do not offer a universal forensic test for authenticating every alleged leak, screenshot or clip. When a claim has no traceable official source, the careful conclusion is that it remains unconfirmed—not that it is definitely genuine or definitely fake.

What Rockstar currently lists for GTA VI
As listed on Rockstar’s official game page on October 7, 2026, Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. These details may change; check the official page for the latest listing.
Rockstar’s Customer Support page, Grand Theft Auto VI Platforms, Editions, and Versions, last updated August 18, 2026, lists Standard and Ultimate Editions and says digital and physical versions are available. The physical package contains a download code and no disc, so it should not be described as a disc edition.
