Add the exact edition to a wishlist, set a sensible target price where available, and compare the final digital, physical, and (when relevant) regional cost immediately before paying.
Prices, stock, discount percentages, and sale end dates change quickly. The examples and service descriptions below are time-qualified for October 13, 2026, and Nintendo’s official page is a US source; a different country can show different games, prices, taxes, payment rules, and deadlines.

Start with Nintendo’s official sales page
Nintendo’s US Sales & Deals page is the first place to verify whether an offer is currently available through Nintendo’s own store. It covers digital games, downloadable content (DLC), and merchandise, and Nintendo tells visitors to “Check back often for featured offers and game recommendations, or explore all sales and deals.” Treat that page as the authority for a live eShop promotion, rather than assuming a deal mentioned in an old article is still active.
Use the page as a live listing, not a calendar
Nintendo does not publish one universal sale schedule that applies to every Switch title or publisher. A game may be discounted for a seasonal event, a publisher promotion, a launch anniversary, or a short campaign, while another game remains at its regular price. The absence of a title from one promotion does not establish that it will be discounted in the next one.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Open the listing for the individual game and record the details that matter:
- the displayed price and discount percentage;
- the sale end date and time, if shown;
- whether the item is a base game, DLC, expansion, bundle, or deluxe edition;
- the Nintendo account region and currency being used; and
- any download-size, storage, or hardware requirement stated on the product page.
Because the page changes continuously, a price or deadline seen on October 13, 2026 is a snapshot, not a promise that the same offer will remain available when you return.
Turn a game search into a price-history check
After finding a candidate game, search for its exact title in a tracker rather than judging the offer from the percentage off alone. A 30% reduction can be excellent for a game that rarely drops, but ordinary for a title that reaches the same price every few weeks. The game’s own history supplies the missing context.
Deku Deals
Deku Deals says it tracks prices at official stores across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. Its Nintendo pages show eShop offers, sale-end dates, and physical-game price drops, and its wishlist can send an email when a game goes on sale. The service also lists physical games, which lets you compare a digital promotion with a cartridge listing and, where available, a used copy.

NTPrices
NTPrices describes full eShop price histories, all-time-low indicators, regional comparisons across more than 50 regions, and free email alerts for price drops or a user-selected target price. It also lists physical and used games. The service publishes its own coverage totals and deal counts; those are live service figures, not independently audited market statistics, so recheck them if the number affects your decision. The companion Google Play listing was updated September 25, 2026.
eShopDeal
eShopDeal says its US price tracking began on September 7, 2026. Consequently, a “lowest tracked” label there means the lowest price recorded since that date, not necessarily the game’s all-time low. It also says it checks prices daily, does not know Nintendo’s sale schedule in advance, and that converted regional prices exclude card fees and taxes.
What a history can—and cannot—tell you
A chart can show whether today’s offer is a new low in that service’s record, a frequently repeated sale, or a modest reduction from the normal price. It cannot guarantee that the same discount will return on a particular date. Older data may be incomplete, especially for a recently launched title or a tracker with limited regional coverage. Read the tracker’s date range and methodology before treating an all-time-low badge as definitive.
| Question | Useful evidence | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Is this unusually cheap? | Game-specific lowest-price marker and historical chart | “Lowest” may cover only the tracker’s recorded period |
| Will the discount return soon? | Past sale frequency and duration | Past patterns do not establish Nintendo’s future schedule |
| Can I buy it physically for less? | Current cartridge and used-copy listings | Stock, seller, condition, shipping, and edition can change |
| Is another region cheaper? | Listed regional eShop prices | Fees, taxes, exchange rates, and payment requirements may change the payable total |
Set an alert that matches your real budget
Add wanted games to a wishlist instead of repeatedly opening store pages. Deku Deals says its wishlist can email you when a game goes on sale. NTPrices describes both price-drop emails and target-price tracking. These notifications reduce manual checking, but they do not reserve inventory or hold a digital price.

Choose a target price
- Decide the highest amount you would be happy to pay for the exact edition, including any expected tax or delivery cost for a physical copy.
- Look at the game’s history and choose a target that has actually occurred, rather than selecting an arbitrary percentage discount.
- Use a lower target for a backlog title you can postpone and a higher target for a game you intend to play immediately.
- Save the target on the tracker when that feature is available, then verify that the alert is attached to the correct region and edition.
Act quickly but verify first
An email can arrive after a sale has ended, after a retailer has sold out, or after a listing has changed editions. Open the alert, follow through to the current store page, and check the live price and deadline before checkout. For a physical item, confirm the seller, condition, shipping charge, and stock; for an eShop item, confirm the account region and the final displayed amount.
Compare the exact edition and buying format
Many apparent bargains are not like-for-like comparisons. A base game, deluxe edition, season pass, DLC pack, remake, bundle, and cartridge can all use similar names while delivering different content. Before comparing prices, write down the product’s edition and included items.
Digital eShop checklist
- Read the title line for “digital,” “bundle,” “deluxe,” or similar edition wording.
- Open the included-content list and check whether DLC is permanent ownership, a subscription benefit, or an in-game item.
- Confirm the supported console and required system storage.
- Check the account region, currency, and sale deadline shown at checkout.
Physical cartridge checklist
- Match the cartridge’s exact edition and language or regional release to the digital listing.
- Compare new and used condition separately; a low used price may exclude a case, inserts, or bonus content.
- Include shipping, taxes, and the time until delivery in the comparison.
- Verify that the seller has stock and that the listing is for a game card rather than a download code.
Not every eShop game has a physical release, and a cartridge may still require a download or separate DLC. Do not infer physical availability from a digital listing alone.
Digital versus physical: a practical decision table
| Factor | Digital eShop purchase | Physical cartridge |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Usually downloadable immediately while the listing is active | Depends on retailer stock and delivery time |
| Price evidence | Nintendo’s live eShop price and tracker history | New and used listings, plus shipping and taxes |
| Convenience | No cartridge swapping; uses console or microSD storage | Can be lent, resold, or moved between compatible consoles |
| Edition risk | Bundles and DLC can be easy to confuse | Seller may list a different regional or deluxe edition |
| Supply risk | Offer can end when the digital promotion ends | Price and stock can change independently of eShop sales |
Use the format that fits how you play. A slightly higher physical price may be worthwhile if you expect to resell it; a digital sale may be preferable when immediate access and convenience matter more than resale.

How to compare regions without overstating the savings
Regional comparison tools can reveal a lower listed eShop price, but a converted number is not the same as a guaranteed saving. NTPrices describes comparisons across 50-plus regions, while eShopDeal warns that its converted prices do not include card fees or taxes.
Check these conditions before switching regions
- Confirm Nintendo’s current account-region and payment requirements for the country you are considering.
- Check whether your payment card or account balance can be used there and what foreign-transaction or conversion fee your issuer charges.
- Determine whether local taxes are added at checkout rather than included in the displayed price.
- Compare the final payable amount with your home-region price, not just the tracker’s currency conversion.
- Consider support, refund, DLC, and language compatibility for that region and edition.
A regional price difference is therefore a lead to investigate, not proof that buying abroad is cheaper. Rules and payment acceptance can change, so verify them at the time of purchase.

A repeatable deal-hunting workflow
- Define the game precisely. Record the title, platform, edition, and whether you want digital, new physical, or used.
- Open Nintendo’s US Sales & Deals page. Check the live offer, price, included content, and sale-end information.
- Search the same edition in a tracker. Review the historical chart and lowest-price context for your region.
- Set a target and wishlist alert. Choose a price supported by the game’s history and your budget.
- Compare formats. Add shipping, taxes, stock, seller, and resale value to any physical comparison.
- Investigate regional listings only if necessary. Validate account, payment, fee, tax, and content implications before treating the converted figure as a saving.
- Recheck at checkout. Confirm the current price, currency, edition, region, and deadline immediately before paying.
Common problems and fixes
The alert says the game is on sale, but the store shows full price
The notification may be delayed, tied to another region, or based on a sale that has ended. Open the tracker entry and Nintendo listing, compare the region and edition, and rely on the live checkout page.
The “lowest price” does not look historically low
Check the tracker’s coverage period. eShopDeal’s US record, for example, starts September 7, 2026, so its lowest tracked price covers only that interval. A short history can miss older discounts.
The physical copy looks cheaper until checkout
Add shipping and taxes, then compare condition and edition. A used copy may omit bonuses, while a cartridge listing can be out of stock or be a download code rather than a game card.

Recalculate with your card’s conversion fee and any tax, then confirm that Nintendo accepts your account and payment method for that region. If those conditions are unknown, the displayed difference is not a dependable saving.
The alert fires too often
Raise the target price threshold only if you would genuinely buy at that amount, or remove games you no longer plan to purchase. A smaller, realistic wishlist makes notifications actionable instead of noisy.
When do Switch games go on sale?
There is no single dependable answer. Nintendo’s official page advises checking back often, and individual publishers can choose different timing, discount depths, and end dates. Trackers can reveal how often one particular game has gone on sale, but they cannot know Nintendo’s schedule in advance. For a game you can postpone, history plus a target alert is more reliable than waiting for a supposed universal sale day.
Quick Recap
How to decide whether to buy now
- Buy now: the exact edition is at or near its recorded low, you intend to play it soon, and the live deadline or stock situation makes waiting risky.
- Wait for an alert: the current discount is ordinary, the game is in your backlog, and the historical chart shows deeper recurring reductions.
- Choose physical: the cartridge’s total cost is competitive and resale or lending matters to you.
- Choose digital: immediate access and convenience outweigh storage and resale considerations.
- Skip the regional purchase: fees, taxes, payment restrictions, or edition differences are not clear enough to calculate a true final price.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
