The clearest permanent cutoff is the six-part Katrine and Pierre quest: finish all six encounters before crossing Mt. Farlos, then visit Inferia’s Royal Observatory after the story returns from Celestia. Completing the chain produces the good outcome and Farah’s Love Negotiator title; missed encounters change the outcome and remove that title reward.
What can actually be missed?
Remastered adds guidance that makes optional content easier to locate, but it does not turn every side event into a permanently tracked checklist. The practical distinction is between four kinds of content:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Time-limited events: scenes or rewards that are available only during a particular stretch of the story. The remaster marks these with hourglass icons.
- Valuable-item locations: places associated with important or desirable items. These use star icons.
- Optional story scenes and title quests: events that can alter an ending or award a character title. Katrine and Pierre is the best-documented example.
- Repeatable challenges and play-through features: activities such as historical battles in the Inferia Coliseum, which are not one-time side quests in the same sense.
There is no published, remaster-specific master list that establishes every missable chest, recipe, title, monster-book entry, or brief NPC conversation. Do not treat an internet checklist with an unexplained total as authoritative. Use the in-game markers, keep manual saves before major story transitions, and give priority to events with an hourglass.
Turn on the remaster’s tracking icons first
Open Menu > Custom > Destination Icons. The setting controls the remaster’s added navigation symbols. Leaving them enabled is the simplest way to reduce the chance of walking past optional content.

| Icon | What it indicates | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow destination icon | The current main-story objective | Use it to advance the story, but do not assume it identifies every optional event. |
| Star | A valuable-item location | Investigate the marked location before leaving the area or passing a story gate. |
| Hourglass | An event whose availability period is limited, including events tied to titles or items | Make it a priority and save before the next major departure. |
| Blue exclamation mark | An event that teaches a new arte | Visit it when practical if you are collecting abilities rather than only following the main objective. |
The yellow marker is deliberately not a complete side-quest list. A route can show the next story destination while an optional conversation remains available elsewhere. The hourglass is the warning that matters most for missables; a star is a prompt to collect something before the map or chapter changes; and a blue exclamation mark identifies an ability-teaching event rather than a title-ending chain.
The Katrine and Pierre quest: the hard cutoff to protect
The most clearly documented missable sequence consists of six encounters involving Katrine and Pierre. The encounters occur in a fixed progression of locations. The remastered guide’s cutoff is explicit: complete the sequence before crossing Mt. Farlos. After the party returns from Celestia, the Royal Observatory in Inferia reveals the result.
| Encounter | When to do it | Where to go | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Early in the Inferia portion | Mintche, exercise field near the university entrance | Trigger the opening conversation. |
| 2 | During the next visit to Morle | Morle food shop | Speak with Katrine and help with directions. |
| 3 | After clearing the Forest of Temptation | Regular ship from Inferia Harbor, dining area | Board the regular ship and speak with her. |
| 4 | During the Barole segment | Barole bookstore | Visit the bookstore and speak with Katrine. This and the ship encounter can be completed in either order. |
| 5 | Before the Mt. Farlos cutoff | Chambard armor shop, fitting room | Enter the fitting room and speak with her. |
| 6 | After clearing the Valley of Fire Spirits | Regulus Dojo | Resolve the encounter at the dojo. |
1. Start the conversation in Mintche
In Mintche, go to the exercise field near the university entrance. The opening scene is easy to miss if you move directly between story destinations, so deliberately enter the field and check for the conversation before leaving town. This is the first link in the chain; later scenes do not replace it.

When the story brings you to Morle, visit the food shop and speak with Katrine. The interaction involves helping her with directions. Complete the conversation rather than treating the shop as a purely restorative stop.
3. Use the regular ship after the Forest of Temptation
Once the Forest of Temptation is cleared, return to Inferia Harbor and board the regular ship. Go to the dining area and speak with Katrine there. The timing matters: this is not the same as simply visiting the harbor earlier in the story.

4. Visit Barole’s bookstore
In Barole, go to the bookstore and speak with Katrine. The remaster guide allows the ship encounter and the Barole bookstore encounter in either order, so you do not need to fear a wrong choice between those two stops. Both conversations still need to be completed.
5. Check the Chambard armor shop fitting room
In Chambard, enter the armor shop and check the fitting room. Speak with Katrine there. Because the fitting room is not the shop’s main counter, it is a common place to walk past while shopping for equipment.

6. Resolve the Regulus Dojo scene
After clearing the Valley of Fire Spirits, visit Regulus Dojo and finish the encounter. This is the sixth and final pre-cutoff conversation. Confirm it before proceeding toward the Mt. Farlos crossing.
7. See the outcome at the Royal Observatory
After the story returns from Celestia, travel to Inferia’s Royal Observatory. The scene there reflects how many of the six encounters you completed. All six produce the good ending for the chain and award Farah the title 愛のネゴシエーター, rendered by the guide as Love Negotiator. Missing one or more encounters changes the ending and prevents that title reward.
What to do before crossing Mt. Farlos
Use this as a deliberate pre-crossing procedure rather than relying on memory:

- Open Menu > Custom > Destination Icons and make sure the tracking symbols are enabled.
- Make a manual save in a separate slot before committing to the Mt. Farlos crossing. Keep the slot until the Royal Observatory scene has been seen.
- Review the six locations: Mintche exercise field, Morle food shop, Inferia Harbor regular ship dining area, Barole bookstore, Chambard armor shop fitting room, and Regulus Dojo.
- Check the story conditions for the later encounters. The ship visit belongs after the Forest of Temptation, and the dojo visit belongs after the Valley of Fire Spirits.
- Return to any location you have not positively confirmed. A vague recollection that you entered a town is not proof that the required conversation triggered.
- Only then cross Mt. Farlos and continue the main route.
The separate save is important because the guide identifies Mt. Farlos as the point before which the chain should be completed. If you discover a missing scene afterward, your most reliable recovery is to reload a save from before the crossing rather than assuming the event will still be available.

Hourglass markers: act immediately
The official Japanese remaster information describes the hourglass as marking events connected to titles and items whose acquisition period is limited. Treat the symbol as a deadline warning even when the game does not state the exact cutoff in words. Visit the location, complete every conversation or interaction there, and save before advancing the story.
An hourglass event can be valuable for several different reasons: a title may depend on it, an item may disappear after a chapter transition, or a scene may be needed for a later outcome. The icon does not tell you which of those applies, so the correct response is to investigate rather than postpone it.
Star markers: collect before changing the route
A star identifies a valuable-item location. When one appears in an area you are about to leave, take the detour and collect the item before boarding a ship, entering a dungeon exit, or triggering a major story departure. The star is not a guarantee that the item is permanently missable, but it is the remaster’s clearest prompt that the location deserves attention now.
Blue exclamation marks: optional arte instruction
Blue exclamation marks identify events that teach new artes. They are useful for a complete ability collection and for players who want to see character-training scenes, but they are a different category from the Katrine/Pierre ending chain. Record the location if you are working toward a full arte list, then visit it when the surrounding story permits.

Yellow destinations: follow the story without confusing it for a checklist
Yellow destination icons point toward the main objective. They help you avoid getting lost, but following only yellow markers can cause you to overlook stars, hourglasses, and blue exclamation events. Before entering the yellow-marked destination, scan the current town, harbor, ship, or dungeon hub for the other symbols.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Optional content that is not the same as a one-time quest
The remaster’s official feature information also identifies several completionist targets. They should be planned separately from the Katrine/Pierre chain because their availability rules are different.
| Feature | Availability information | How to plan for it |
|---|---|---|
| New Game+ carry-over options | The remaster supports carry-over options between play-throughs; the specific result depends on the option selected. | Use a completed save as the basis for a later run, but do not assume every item, title, or event transfers unless the game’s carry-over menu confirms it. |
| Nereid’s Labyrinth | The remaster provides earlier access than the original progression. | Revisit the labyrinth when it becomes available and treat it as additional post- or mid-run content, not as a replacement for limited town events. |
| Mania difficulty | Available on a first play-through. | Select it if you want the harder setting without waiting for a second run. |
| Unknown difficulty | Available on a second play-through. | Plan a New Game+ run if this difficulty is part of your completion goal. |
| Inferia Coliseum historical battles | Repeatable historical battles are available. | Return for additional challenges; they are repeatable rather than a single missable conversation. |
These features may carry progress or unlocks through New Game+, but the published feature description does not establish a complete item-by-item transfer list. Check the in-game New Game+ options before starting the next run and keep the original clear save.
A practical route for completion-focused players
At the start of a story segment
- Enable destination icons if they are off.
- Make a manual save before entering a new town, boarding a ship, or beginning a major dungeon.
- Look for hourglass, star, and blue exclamation symbols before following the yellow objective.
When a new town opens
- Walk the public areas once instead of moving straight to the marked destination.
- Check shops, fitting rooms, bookstores, food shops, training areas, and harbor interiors; several Katrine/Pierre scenes use exactly those less prominent spaces.
- Finish conversations completely and wait for the scene to close before leaving.
Before a point-of-no-return warning or major departure
- Compare your notes with the locations you have actually visited.
- Resolve every visible hourglass event.
- Collect nearby star-marked items.
- Keep a backup save so you can test a route without sacrificing your completion file.
If you discover that you missed an encounter
First identify which encounter is missing; do not assume that visiting the same town again will repair an earlier step. If you are still before Mt. Farlos, revisit the relevant location under the correct story condition. For example, the ship conversation requires the Forest of Temptation to be cleared, while the Regulus Dojo conversation requires the Valley of Fire Spirits to be cleared.
If you have already crossed Mt. Farlos, load the manual save made before the crossing if one exists. The documented route treats that crossing as the cutoff for completing the chain, so continuing forward without a pre-crossing save risks losing the good outcome and the Love Negotiator title for that play-through.
Best Value
If no earlier save remains, finish the current run and record the missing step for a later play-through. New Game+ carry-over options can make a second run more convenient, but the available documentation does not promise that an incomplete Katrine/Pierre chain will be repaired automatically. Start the next run with a six-location checklist and save before each major gate.
Why a single master list is unsafe
Guides often combine information from the original release, regional versions, and player discoveries. That can be useful for leads, but it does not establish that every listed chest, recipe, title, or NPC scene has the same timing in the remaster. The remaster-specific information confirms the icon system and the six Katrine/Pierre encounters; it does not publish a definitive count of all missable content.
For that reason, use claims proportionally. Treat the six-encounter chain as a documented hard cutoff. Treat an hourglass as the game’s own warning that an event or reward has a limited acquisition period. Treat stars and blue exclamation marks as prompts to investigate. For anything outside those signals, preserve a save and verify the event in your own play-through rather than relying on an invented total.
Quick completion checklist
- Icons enabled: Menu > Custom > Destination Icons.
- Mintche: exercise field near the university entrance.
- Morle: food shop, help Katrine with directions.
- After Forest of Temptation: regular ship from Inferia Harbor, dining area.
- Barole: bookstore. The Barole and ship encounters can be done in either order.
- Chambard: armor shop fitting room.
- After Valley of Fire Spirits: Regulus Dojo.
- Before Mt. Farlos: all six encounters confirmed and a backup save retained.
- After returning from Celestia: Inferia Royal Observatory for the ending and title result.
- During every chapter: investigate hourglass, star, and blue exclamation markers before advancing the yellow objective.
Following that routine covers the best-supported missable chain while using the remaster’s own interface to find other limited events without pretending that an unverified master list exists.
