Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo find internet providers at your address—including alternatives to Spectrum—start with the FCC National Broadband Map. Search your full service address to see providers reporting fixed broadband there, their connection types, and maximum advertised download and upload speeds. Treat the results as a shortlist, then confirm availability and current terms with each provider; the map does not show actual performance or affordability.
Look up providers at your exact address
- Open the FCC National Broadband Map and enter your full street address. If it does not appear, try searching by location or by town and state, then locate the correct point on the map. The FCC’s map guide explains address search and location points.
- Select the point for your home or building. Review the listed providers, connection technologies, and each provider’s maximum advertised download and upload speeds.
- Use the fixed broadband filters to inspect fiber, cable, DSL, satellite, and fixed wireless options. These are reported as available at the selected location; they are not a guarantee that a provider can connect your particular unit.
Confirm the shortlist with providers
The map is useful for discovering candidates, not choosing a plan by itself. Availability data is provider-reported and can change as providers update submissions, location data is revised, and information is verified. Fixed providers report service location by location twice yearly. Check each candidate directly for service at your exact address, including your apartment or unit number.

Ask each provider for its current plans and complete terms. Confirm the regular monthly price after any introductory period, how long promotional pricing lasts, equipment and installation charges, data limits, and contract conditions. Availability, plan terms, and prices should be verified directly rather than inferred from a city- or ZIP-code provider list.
Compare the providers that can serve you
Once providers confirm service, compare the options that are actually offered at your address. The FCC describes the map as showing availability—not network performance, affordability, or adoption. Its speed figures are provider-reported maximum advertised speeds for service offered for purchase, not a promise of the speeds you will receive.

| What to compare | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Connection type | Whether the offered service is fiber, cable, DSL, fixed wireless, or satellite. |
| Download and upload speeds | The provider’s current plan tiers and the speeds it advertises for your address; consider both directions in light of your household’s needs. |
| Total cost | Monthly price during and after any introductory period, plus applicable equipment, installation, and other charges. |
| Data and contract terms | Whether a plan has data limits, a contract, or conditions that affect the price or service. |
| Household requirements | Whether the connection’s expected latency and reliability suit your work, calls, gaming, streaming, and other usage. |
A national FCC fact sheet summarizing availability data as of June 2025 reports that approximately 96% of broadband-serviceable locations had at least one provider reporting terrestrial fixed broadband service of at least 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload. That national figure does not identify providers available at any particular address.

If a provider listed on the map says it cannot serve your address—or the reported technology or maximum advertised speed appears inaccurate—you can submit a fixed availability challenge through the FCC map. Keep a record of the provider’s response and any supporting information. The challenge is sent to the provider for a response; if the dispute is not resolved, the FCC may decide it.
Rank #2
- Compatible with major cable internet providers including Xfinity and Cox. NOT compatible with Verizon, Spectrum, AT&T, CenturyLink, DSL providers, DirecTV, DISH and any bundled voice service. Best for cable provider plans up to 800Mbps.
An availability challenge is for correcting a map listing, not reporting slow service after signup. For actual-speed or service-performance problems, the FCC’s challenge guide distinguishes availability disputes from consumer complaints.
