For India’s medal records across Asian Games editions, use the IOC-attributed dataset hosted by Dataful and filter by year, sport, discipline, and winner. For a single edition—or current Aichi-Nagoya 2026 results—use the Olympic Council of Asia’s official results pages. Keep the edition and the date checked with any total: the historical dataset reviewed ends in 2023, while 2026 results are live and can change.
Choose the right source for your question
| What you need | Best place to start | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| India’s athlete- and sport-level medals across editions | Dataful’s IOC-attributed Asian Games medals dataset | Records from 1951 through 2023, with year, host country, venue, winner name, sport, discipline, medal, and India’s overall rank. Dataful lists 721 rows and 10 columns and a last update of 4 July 2024. |
| India’s result in one completed edition | The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) edition page | The edition’s official medal table and event information. The Hangzhou page reports India’s edition total and rank. |
| Current India results by sport at Aichi-Nagoya 2026 | The official Aichi-Nagoya 2026 results interface | Live results that can be filtered by National Olympic Committee (NOC) and discipline, then checked at event level. |
These sources answer different questions. A country medal table gives an edition-wide total; a sport tally groups medals by sport; an event result identifies the event’s medal outcome and competitors. Check the source that matches the level of detail you need.

Find India’s medals across editions
Use the historical dataset
Dataful hosts a dataset attributed to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), titled Sports – Asian Games: Year-, Sport- and Athlete-wise Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals won by India, since 1951. The page offers CSV, XLSX, and JSON downloads. Its stated coverage ends in 2023, so it is useful for historical lookups, not a consolidated athlete-by-athlete record of Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

- Open the Dataful dataset page and choose CSV, XLSX, or JSON.
- Filter the downloaded records to India using the
winning_countryfield. - Filter
yearto the edition you want. If you want a cross-edition search, leave multiple years selected or group the results by year. - Use
sport_namefor the sport, disciplinefor its discipline,winner_namefor the listed winner, andmedal_wonfor gold, silver, or bronze. - Keep the year alongside any result you record, so medals from different editions are not accidentally combined.
The dataset page lists 721 rows and 10 columns and says it was last updated on 4 July 2024. It therefore provides coverage through 2023, not a confirmed final 2026 history export.

Interpret team records carefully
A dataset row for a team event may identify a team or event rather than every athlete who competed. If you need to name individual team members, use the event record or official roster for that edition to verify the lineup. Do not treat one team-medal row as a complete list of the athletes who earned it.
Check one completed edition
For a specific Games, start with that edition’s OCA page rather than relying on a cross-edition dataset alone. The OCA Hangzhou 2023 results page reports India with 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze medals, 107 in total, and fourth place. It lists 40 sports and 482 events for the Games.
Rank #2
Use the edition medal table for the country total, then inspect sport or event results when you need a breakdown or athlete names. The OCA page is the source for the stated Hangzhou tally; it should not be confused with an all-time total or a live result from another edition.
Find India’s results by sport at Aichi-Nagoya 2026
The 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, are scheduled for 19 September through 4 October 2026. For results during the event, use the official results interface rather than the historical dataset, which ends in 2023.
Rank #3
- Open the official results interface.
- Set the NOC filter to India.
- Select the sport or discipline you want.
- Open the relevant event result or scorecard to verify the medal outcome and athlete or team names.
- Record the date and time you checked the result, since live standings and totals may change while events are underway.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) website displayed 21 gold, 27 silver, 37 bronze, 85 total, and rank four while labeling Aichi-Nagoya 2026 “Ongoing.” Its displayed content did not provide a clear as-of timestamp. Treat that as a live display, not a verified final tally; confirm athlete-level results in the official event interface.
After the Games close, check the official event archive and whether the historical dataset has been updated before describing a 2026 list as final.
Rank #4
Keep totals and medal counts comparable
When comparing two sports or editions, make sure the records refer to the same year and the same kind of measure. A country’s edition total is not the same as a sport total or an individual athlete’s medal count. Team events also need separate care because the historical dataset may show a team-level winner rather than each member.

- Separate sport and discipline where the source provides both.
- Distinguish individual events from team events.
- For current results, note when you checked and verify the specific event record.
There is a source discrepancy worth knowing if you encounter another Hangzhou figure: an OCA article published in August 2026 describes India’s 107-medal total with 39 silvers, while the OCA Hangzhou edition page lists 38 silvers and the same 107 total. For the Hangzhou edition tally here, the edition page is used.
