Start with the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) to search for courses, nearby skill centres and job listings. Then verify training with the Sikkim Skill Development Department and the Sikkim Institute of Capacity Building (SICB), and contact Niyukti Kendra for job-placement, counselling and apprenticeship support. A course or vacancy announcement is not proof that applications are open now: confirm the current batch, eligibility and deadline with the official provider or employer before committing or sharing personal details.
Where to search first
Skill India Digital Hub: courses, centres and jobs
SIDH is the most direct starting point for discovering options across Sikkim. Its portal offers course and skill-centre searches, job and apprenticeship listings, entrepreneurship opportunities, course recommendations and free digital CV creation. Use the “Find Course,” “Find Job” and “Look for a Skill Centre near you” options, and set the location to Sikkim or a nearby centre you can realistically reach. The portal’s search result showed a last-modified date of 27 September 2026; listings still need to be checked individually for current availability. Open Skill India Digital Hub.

Sikkim’s skill-development network
The state Skill Development Department identifies employment, entrepreneurship, digital learning and marketing skills among its objectives. SICB’s management-information-system centre list can help you find accredited skill-development centres across Sikkim. A centre’s appearance on the list does not establish that it currently has a digital-skills batch, so contact it and ask about enrolment, fees and dates. Check the department and SICB centre listings.
Niyukti Kendra for career support
The state describes Niyukti Kendra as a one-stop service for job placement, counselling and apprenticeship facilitation. In an achievement update dated 14 July 2025, the Skill Development Department reported 2,983 registered candidates, 1,134 placed and 138 establishment partners. These are government-reported figures for that update, not live counts or independently audited outcomes. Ask the Kendra which services and opportunities are currently available in your district. Rural training through DDU-GKY
Sikkim government reporting describes Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) as providing free, industry-oriented training and placement assistance to eligible rural youth, with travel, accommodation and meals during training. A July 2026 report named Guest Service Associate and Commis training. These details show examples of provision, not current vacancies or universal eligibility. Check locally for the active course, intake dates and terms before applying. DDU-GKY information.
How to find and verify a course
- Search SIDH. Look for the skill or role you want, choose Sikkim or a practical nearby location, and open the individual course listing.
- Check the terms, not just the word “free.” Confirm whether tuition is free, who provides the training, delivery mode, eligibility, duration, assessment or certificate requirements, attendance rules, and any other costs.
- Verify the centre and current batch. Compare the provider with SICB’s centre list, then contact the centre or state department to confirm that the specific course is enrolling now. Past government announcements do not establish that seats remain open.
- Ask what support means. Establish whether the course includes placement assistance, an apprenticeship pathway or only training. Do not assume that assistance guarantees a job.
- Confirm practical arrangements. For schemes such as DDU-GKY, ask whether travel, accommodation and meals apply to your course and batch, and what documents are required.
Examples of digital training reported by the Sikkim government include Social Media Content Creation under Sikkim INSPIRES in Gangtok in March 2026, and digital marketing and Business Intelligence Analyst as options mentioned in a July 2026 counselling announcement. They are evidence that such options have been offered, not confirmation of open seats today. Check current department announcements.

How to search for jobs and apprenticeships
SIDH’s Job Exchange aggregates vacancies from NSDC’s JobX and the National Career Service (NCS) portal, giving you a discovery route to listings from more than one source. Open the listing and follow its stated application instructions; do not assume that appearing on SIDH means a vacancy is still open or that SIDH itself is the employer. - Check the employer’s identity and use the application channel specified in the listing.
- Read the role, work location, qualifications, pay and conditions as stated by the employer, and the closing date.
- For apprenticeships, confirm the establishment, eligibility and application process in the vacancy details.
- Do not pay a fee or hand over sensitive information based only on an unsolicited message. Verify the opportunity through the employer’s official channel.
For personal guidance, contact Niyukti Kendra or ask about district career-counselling events. A counselling announcement can identify options without indicating that a particular job or event remains open.
