Saved Google Translate conversation transcripts are an Android-only workflow in Google’s documented instructions. Open the Translate app, tap Menu, choose Saved transcripts, and open the conversation. Google documents selecting, copying, and sharing transcript text, but it does not document a one-tap download of a complete transcript file or a standard transcript-deletion procedure.
Do not confuse a speech transcript with translation history. History contains earlier word, phrase, or sentence translations and has separate deletion controls on Android and desktop. Google Sheets export is documented for saved translations, not for Saved transcripts.

Saved transcripts and translation history are different things
Google Translate has two separate data areas that are easy to mix up:

The distinction matters because deleting translation history is not documented as a way to erase a saved speech transcript. Likewise, signing out or changing activity settings should not be treated as a transcript-deletion method unless Google explicitly documents that relationship.

Google’s official pages are the Android Transcribe help, the computer history help, and the Android history help.
How to find a saved speech transcript on Android
Google’s documented Saved transcripts path is for the Google Translate app on an Android phone or tablet. It is not a desktop-browser procedure.
- Open the Google Translate app.
- Tap Menu.
- Tap Saved transcripts.
- Tap the transcript you want to read.
The transcript opens as text that you can review and select. Google also documents renaming a transcript from its transcript menu. The exact icon or placement of that menu can vary with the app’s interface, so look for the menu associated with the open transcript rather than the browser’s menu.
If you do not see Saved transcripts, first confirm that you are in the Android Translate app and not on translate.google.com in a desktop browser. The cited Google transcript page does not describe a desktop Saved transcripts library. A Help Community user also reported in 2026 that saved transcripts visible on a phone were not visible on a PC; that is an individual report, not proof that every account behaves identically.
Rename a transcript and select its text
Rename an existing transcript
Open the transcript from Menu > Saved transcripts, then use the transcript’s menu and choose the rename command documented by Google. Enter a useful name that identifies the meeting, language, date, or speaker. Renaming changes the label used in the app; it is not an export or a copy of the transcript.
Select part of a transcript
Touch and hold in the transcript, then drag the selection handles across the words you need. For a complete conversation, use Select all when that command appears. Selection is the key step for both copying and sharing.

Copy selected text
After selecting the required text, tap Copy. Translate places the selection on Android’s clipboard, where you can paste it into a document, note, email, messaging app, or another text editor. Google’s official transcript help documents this text-level operation; it does not describe creating a downloadable transcript file.

With text selected, tap Share and choose an Android app from the share sheet. Google states: “To share text to other Android apps: Tap Share.” The receiving app determines whether the text becomes a new document, message, note, or other item. Sharing is therefore a handoff of text, not a Google Translate archive export.
How to export a complete saved transcript
Google’s official Android transcript instructions do not provide an Export transcript, Download, or Export to Google Sheets control for Saved transcripts. They document copying or sharing selected text instead. If you need the entire conversation outside Translate, use that documented text route:
- Open Google Translate > Menu > Saved transcripts.
- Open the conversation.
- Use Select all, if available, so the full visible transcript is selected.
- Tap Copy to paste it into a document, or tap Share and select a text-capable Android app.
- Save the receiving document in the format and location you need, such as a local file or a cloud document.
This is a practical workaround, not a documented full-transcript file export. It may require more than one copy or share operation if the app or Android version cannot select the entire conversation at once. Check the pasted result before closing Translate, especially when the transcript is long: confirm that the beginning, end, speaker turns, and any punctuation you need are present.
Copying also transfers plain text rather than promising a special transcript package. Formatting, timestamps, speaker labels, or other metadata will only survive if Translate includes them in the selectable text and the receiving app preserves them. If the destination app truncates a very large paste, split the transcript into logical sections and save each section in order, using the transcript name and a part number.

Readers commonly ask how to upload “(complete) transcripts to my PC.” The Help Community contains a question phrased “Saved transcripts, how to export whole transcript?” (Google Translate Help Community). Those questions reflect the same limitation: the documented control is text copy/share, not a verified PC download workflow.

What “Export to Google Sheets” actually exports
The Sheets command belongs to saved translation entries on the desktop Translate site, not to Android Saved transcripts.
- On a computer, open Google Translate and sign in if your saved items require an account.
- Click Saved below the translation boxes.
- Click Export to Google Sheets.
Google describes this as exporting saved word or phrase translations. Its help also explains starring individual history entries so they appear among saved translations. Nothing in that desktop procedure establishes that a speech conversation from Saved transcripts will appear in the sheet or that the sheet contains a complete transcript.
If your goal is a conversation transcript, return to the Android transcript, select its text, and copy or share it. Do not use the Sheets command as a substitute for a transcript export.
Delete translation history on a computer
These steps apply to translation history, not to the separate Saved transcripts area.
- Open Google Translate in a desktop browser.
- Click History at the bottom of the page.
- To erase everything shown in history, click Clear history and follow the confirmation prompt.
- To remove one item, open the menu beside that entry and choose Remove from history.
The computer help page documents both all-history clearing and single-entry removal: Find & manage Translate history — Computer. These controls act on translation-history entries. They are not described as deleting Android Saved transcripts.
Delete translation history on Android
Google’s Android history workflow moves signed-in users from Translate to Google activity controls. Use it when you want to remove past translations, rather than a saved speech transcript.

Open the history controls
- Open the Translate app.
- Open History or the app’s history-management route.
- Choose Manage activity when Google presents that option.
Choose the scope of deletion
Google documents these choices in Manage activity:
- Delete today removes the current day’s activity.
- Delete custom range lets you specify dates.
- Delete all time removes the available history for the account or activity scope.
- Auto-delete lets you configure automatic removal where the setting is offered.
For an individual past translation, Google also documents swiping left on that entry to delete it. The exact gesture can depend on the Android interface, so use the entry’s available action if swiping is not recognized.

Google’s official transcript help page explains finding, renaming, selecting, copying, and sharing a transcript, but it does not publish a complete, universal transcript-deletion procedure. For that reason, you should not present a particular sequence as guaranteed for every Android version.
A February 2026 Google Translate Help Community post reports that one user saw Rename and Delete beside a transcript. That observation may reflect that user’s app version, account, rollout, or interface state. It is not the same as Google’s official documentation.
If your opened transcript menu visibly includes Delete, read the confirmation carefully and use it only if you intend to remove that saved transcript. If no Delete command appears, do not assume that clearing translation history, signing out, disabling Web & App Activity, or deleting the app will remove the transcript; the cited Google pages do not establish any of those as transcript-deletion methods. Google’s sync statements in the Android history help concern translation history. When you are signed in, Translate syncs translation history from the device to the cloud. When you are signed out, Google says you can view only on-device history.
For new cloud history entries, Google says Web & App Activity must be turned on. If that activity setting is off, Google says you can still find and delete history but cannot create new entries in that history. Newly synced history can take a few hours to appear, and Google says syncing occurs when the app launches and periodically afterward.
Those statements should not be extended to Saved speech transcripts. The transcript help and history help describe separate features, and neither establishes that history-sync settings control the storage, visibility, export, or deletion of Saved transcripts.
Troubleshooting common problems
“Saved transcripts” is missing
- Confirm that you opened the Android Translate app, not the desktop website.
- Check the app’s Menu; the documented label is Saved transcripts.
- Make sure you are looking for a speech transcript, not a translation-history entry.
- If the app has recently changed its layout, use its current menu and update path, but do not assume a desktop equivalent exists.
The transcript is on my phone but not my computer
The documented transcript workflow is Android-based. A community user reported that phone transcripts were not visible on a PC. Treat that as an interface report rather than a universal account rule. The dependable documented route for moving the text is to select it on Android and copy or share it into an app that can sync or save the resulting document.
“Export to Google Sheets” does not show my conversation
That is expected if you are looking for a Saved speech transcript. Sheets export is documented for saved translations. Open the Android transcript and use Select all, Copy, or Share instead.
History still appears after deletion
First verify that you deleted the intended scope—one item, today, a custom range, or all time—and that you used the correct signed-in account. Google says app reflection can take up to a couple of hours. If the item remains after that window, revisit Manage activity and then reopen Translate.
A copied transcript looks incomplete
Try selecting all again, or copy in smaller sections and label them sequentially. Paste into the destination before leaving the transcript and compare the first and last lines with the source. A receiving app may impose its own size or formatting limits; that does not create a missing Google Translate export feature.
A safe workflow for preserving or removing the right data
- Classify the item. If it came from Transcribe and appears under Saved transcripts, treat it as a speech transcript. If it is a prior word, phrase, or sentence translation in History, use history controls.
- Preserve needed text first. On Android, open the transcript, select all or the required range, and copy or share it to a document before attempting any deletion.
- Use the matching export route. Use text copy/share for Saved transcripts. Use desktop Sheets export only for saved translations.
- Delete translation history with the correct scope. On desktop choose Clear history or Remove from history; on Android use Manage activity’s date, all-time, or auto-delete options, or the documented single-entry gesture.
- Handle transcript deletion cautiously. Use a visible Delete command only if your transcript menu provides one and confirms what will be removed. Otherwise, recognize that Google’s official transcript page leaves this control undocumented.
- Allow for sync delay. Translation-history changes may take up to a couple of hours to appear in the app.
