Fallen Village’s documented key progression uses two keys: the Weathered Key and the Storage Key. The Weathered Key begins at the Marketplace house with the empty crib, opens a house across the river, and lets you retrieve the Toy needed to finish Lullaby. The Storage Key is underground behind the Marketplace house; it opens a nearby door leading to the weak point that clears the plague wall.
The Fields route is separate but worth completing during the same sweep. It contains The Scarecrow side quest, two quest items, a barn objective, Bountiful Harvest Amber, and nearby pickups. Nothing required is missable according to the complete walkthrough, and previously visited areas remain accessible after the final boss.

Use the lantern labels as your navigation system: Fallen Village > Marketplace covers both key routes, while Fallen Village > Fields starts the Scarecrow sweep.
Weathered Key: open the house across the river
The Weathered Key is tied to the empty-crib house and the Lullaby side quest. You do not pick it up inside the locked destination. Start at the Marketplace lantern and use the house with the crib as your anchor.

1. Start Lullaby at the empty crib
- Travel to Fallen Village > Marketplace.
- Enter the house that contains the empty crib.
- Interact with the crib. This starts Lullaby and establishes the Toy objective.
Do not leave through the front route after checking the crib. The key is reached through the back of this building.
2. Leave by the back door and take the Weathered Key
- Exit through the house’s back door.
- Move toward the enemies outside.
- Pick up the Weathered Key from the ground near those enemies.
The key is an outdoor pickup rather than a chest reward. If you are searching the interior or checking containers, you are in the wrong place. The documented walkthrough describes the item as lying near the enemies outside the back exit.
3. Reach the locked house across the river
- Head back in the direction of the Marketplace lantern.
- Follow the path toward the previous area.
- After passing the Volunteer, turn right.
- Continue to the end of the path.
- Jump across the river to the house on the opposite side.
- Interact with the door and use the Weathered Key.
The river jump is the visual confirmation that you are on the correct route. If the house door does not offer the key prompt, return to the crib house and make sure you actually started Lullaby and collected the key from the back exit.

4. Retrieve the Toy and finish Lullaby
- Enter the opened house.
- Pick up the Toy from the bed.
- Return across the river and go back to the house with the empty crib.
- Interact with the crib and place the Toy.
Completing the sequence awards Tomorrow’s Promise Amber. The locked house is therefore not just a detour: it contains the quest item required to resolve the crib objective.

Storage Key: reach the plague-wall weak point
The Storage Key follows a shorter route from the Marketplace house, but its purpose is progression rather than a separate fetch quest. The pickup is below ground, and the unlocked door creates access to the weak point used to clear the plague wall.
1. Enter the underground route
- Remain in the Marketplace area and use the house associated with the Storage Key route.
- Go out through the back of the house.
- Find the ladder and climb down into the underground area.
The ladder is the transition between the visible Marketplace buildings and the key’s underground location. If you are still searching the street-level houses, you have not reached the intended route.
2. Pick up the Storage Key
- From the bottom of the ladder, follow the passage around the corner.
- Watch for two enemies.
- Search the box near them and collect the Storage Key.
This key is on a box, not on the ground. The enemies and the corner are useful landmarks when visibility is poor or the underground layout begins to look similar.

- Continue to the nearby locked door in the underground section.
- Interact with it and use the Storage Key.
- Follow the newly opened route until you reach the plague wall’s weak point.
- Use your weapon or the required interaction at the weak point to clear the wall and continue.
The Storage Key does not open the river house and does not advance Lullaby. If you are trying to complete that quest, use the Weathered Key route instead.

How the two Marketplace keys differ

Both keys are tied to Marketplace routing, but they solve different problems: one completes a side quest, while the other removes a physical progression barrier.
Fields walkthrough: complete The Scarecrow
The Fields section has its own side quest and several nearby collectibles. Start from the Fallen Village > Fields lantern. The Scarecrow objective is not part of either Marketplace key, so tracking the lantern name prevents you from searching the wrong village sector.
1. Find the scarecrow and start the quest
- From the Fields lantern, follow the paths toward the open field.
- Take the road on the right.
- Locate the body strapped to the scarecrow post.
- Interact with it to start The Scarecrow.
The body is the quest trigger. Walking past the scarecrow without interacting with it leaves the later pendant and letter objectives unavailable.
2. Recover the Lover’s Pendant
- Leave the scarecrow area and head toward the barn.
- Take the right-hand path to the large tree.
- Search the body at the base of the tree.
- Collect the Lover’s Pendant.
The large tree is the key landmark. If you reach the barn without the pendant, retrace the right path rather than searching the barn interior for it.

3. Recover the Letter with a Drawing
- Continue beyond the tall haystacks.
- Pass the four human enemies.
- Enter the house on the left as the path rises uphill.
- Go to the top floor.
- Take the Letter with a Drawing from the table.
This item is upstairs, so checking only the ground floor will not complete the collection step.
4. Return both items to the scarecrow
- Go back to the scarecrow post.
- Interact with it and give it the Lover’s Pendant.
- Give it the Letter with a Drawing as the second quest item.
Both items must be delivered before the barn finale becomes available.
5. Finish the barn objective
- Enter the next field after turning in the pendant and letter.
- Find the barn containing exploding bodies.
- Climb to the barn’s top level.
- Interact with the two pillows.
Interacting with both pillows completes The Scarecrow and awards Bountiful Harvest Amber.
6. Sweep the nearby barn and carriage area
The route contains two additional documented pickups. Search the chest behind the exploding bodies for Amber #11: Volatile End. The Blunderbuss is near the Volunteer. Collecting these while you are already in the Fields avoids a second traversal, but neither item replaces the pendant, letter, or pillow interactions required for the side quest.

You can complete the content in either order, but the following sequence keeps each lantern checkpoint and its surrounding landmarks together.
- Activate the Lullaby crib in Fallen Village > Marketplace.
- Leave through the back door and pick up the Weathered Key near the outside enemies.
- Follow the route past the Volunteer, cross the river, unlock the house, and take the Toy.
- Return to the crib and place the Toy for Tomorrow’s Promise Amber.
- Use the Marketplace back route, descend the ladder, collect the Storage Key from the box near two enemies, and open the nearby door.
- Continue to the plague-wall weak point and clear it.
- Travel to Fallen Village > Fields and activate The Scarecrow at the body on the post.
- Collect the Lover’s Pendant at the large tree, then the Letter with a Drawing in the uphill house.
- Return both items to the scarecrow.
- Enter the barn in the next field, climb to the top, and interact with both pillows.
- On the same barn pass, open the chest behind the exploding bodies and check near the Volunteer for the Blunderbuss.
This order is a convenience route, not a lockout condition. The documented guide says the game allows returns to earlier areas.
Can missed keys or quests be recovered?
Yes. The complete walkthrough reports that required items are not missable and that prior areas can be revisited after the final boss. You can return to Fallen Village and use its lantern labels to resume the relevant route.

- For the Storage Key, return to the Marketplace house with the ladder route and search the underground box near the two enemies.
- For The Scarecrow, select Fallen Village > Fields and follow the scarecrow, tree, uphill house, and barn sequence.
Revisiting an area does not change what each item does. The Weathered Key still leads to the Toy, and the Storage Key still leads to the plague-wall weak point.
Troubleshooting the locked doors and quest triggers
The Weathered Key is not visible
- Confirm that you entered the Marketplace house with the empty crib.
- Interact with the crib to start Lullaby.
- Exit through the back door rather than searching the front room.
- Check the ground near the enemies outside.
The river house will not open
- Make sure you are at the house reached by jumping across the river after turning right beyond the Volunteer.
- Verify that the key came from the crib house’s back exit.
- If the prompt is still absent, return to the crib and confirm that Lullaby is active.
The Storage Key route seems blocked
- Use the Marketplace house’s rear exit.
- Climb down the ladder into the underground area.
- Go around the corner toward the two enemies.
- Search the box rather than the floor for the key.
The Scarecrow quest does not progress
- Start at the Fields lantern, not the Marketplace lantern.
- Interact with the body strapped to the scarecrow post.
- Collect both the Lover’s Pendant and the Letter with a Drawing.
- Deliver both items at the scarecrow before entering the barn finale.
- At the barn’s top level, interact with both pillows.
How much of Fallen Village can be collected?
The complete walkthrough covering this route documents 89 collectible locations, 20 side quests, and 10 regions. Those figures describe the full game guide rather than only the Fallen Village keys, so they should not be read as a count of keys in this one area. For Fallen Village’s documented locked-door progression, the relevant key items are the Weathered Key and Storage Key.
The practical completion check is therefore route-based: resolve Lullaby, open the Storage Key door and clear the plague-wall weak point, complete The Scarecrow, and collect the nearby Fields pickups while you are there. Because the area can be revisited, you can perform that check later instead of restarting your playthrough.
