How to Find Easy Platinum Trophies on PlayStation Plus (PS4 and PS5)

The fastest way to find an easy Platinum on PlayStation Plus is to combine two separate checks: a low estimated difficulty and a short estimated completion time. Use a trophy database to build a shortlist, then verify each game in the PlayStation Plus hub for your country and membership tier immediately before downloading. Finally, open the exact PS4 or PS5 trophy list and read a current guide for missables, online requirements, difficulty restrictions, collectibles, and version differences.

Catalog membership is not permanent. Sony changes the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog, availability differs by region and plan, and some listings show a removal date. A game that looks perfect on an old “easy Platinum” list may no longer be available, may belong to a different edition, or may take much longer than its difficulty rating suggests.

What “easy” and “quick” actually mean

“Easy” describes the skill and complexity needed to earn every trophy. “Quick” describes the time required. They overlap, but neither is a substitute for the other. A game can have simple combat and forgiving puzzles yet demand a long collectible sweep, a large number of repetitive tasks, or two complete playthroughs. Conversely, a short game can include one difficult challenge that makes its Platinum less accessible than its average rating implies.

Judge both dimensions separately

  • Difficulty: Look at the database rating, the hardest individual trophy, and whether the guide assumes a particular difficulty setting.
  • Time: Check the estimated hours, the amount of grinding, the number of collectibles, and whether a second run is required.
  • Risk: Identify missables, online or co-op trophies, server dependence, chapter-specific actions, and version-specific requirements before you start.

PlatPrices explains that its difficulty and time figures are drawn from published trophy guides and can differ by guide and game version. Treat them as planning estimates, not guarantees. PlayStation Support likewise says: “The number and grades of trophies, and the conditions for earning them, vary from game to game.”

For the widest selection, use a database as a discovery tool rather than assuming that every highly rated game is currently included with your subscription.

Understand which PlayStation Plus catalog you can use

PlayStation Plus availability depends on your country, subscription tier, platform, and the date you check. Sony’s catalog page is US-specific, so readers elsewhere should use the PlayStation Plus hub displayed for their own account and region: PlayStation Plus catalog and plans.

Extra and Premium access

On Sony’s US plan description, Extra includes download access to the Game Catalog. Premium includes the Extra benefits and adds catalog streaming and access to the Classics Catalog. The exact lineup, streaming support, and terms vary by country and by individual game. Do not infer that a title can be streamed simply because it appears in a database, or that a Classics listing has the same trophy list as a modern PS4 or PS5 release.

Why an old list can mislead you

  • A game can leave the Game Catalog after an article or video was published.
  • The same title may be present in one country but absent in another.
  • A listing can be available to Extra members for download while streaming is limited to Premium, or streaming may not be supported for that game.
  • PS4 and PS5 editions may have separate trophy lists and different requirements.

Check the current listing before spending time on a download. If a removal date is shown, compare the remaining days with the database’s estimated completion time and leave extra room for troubleshooting or a replay.

Build a shortlist with a trophy database

Start with a current trophy database such as the PlatPrices quick-and-easy page: PlatPrices filters and estimates. Select the console generation you own and, if the service provides it, the relevant PlayStation Plus catalog or plan. If it does not have a live catalog filter, use its difficulty and time results only as a shortlist, then perform the official catalog check yourself.

Use the numbers in their proper context

On its 13 October 2026 update, PlatPrices listed 1,644 games rated 1 or 2 out of 10 for Platinum difficulty and 842 games estimated to take an hour or less. Those counts cover its Malaysia PlayStation Store database; they are not counts of games in PlayStation Plus and should not be presented as worldwide or catalog totals. Store coverage, regional releases, and separate PS4 and PS5 lists all affect what you will see.

Sort for a practical balance

  1. Filter for the lowest difficulty range that suits your skill level.
  2. Keep the estimated completion-time field visible instead of sorting by difficulty alone.
  3. Open each candidate’s trophy guide and inspect the hardest trophy, not just the overall score.
  4. Remove games with a long grind, extensive collectibles, or mandatory repeat runs if your priority is a fast completion.
  5. Flag candidates with online, co-op, or server-dependent trophies for a separate decision; they may be easy but unreliable for a solo player.

A low rating is most useful when the guide’s explanation matches your circumstances. A “1/10” game that requires an active online community may be a poor choice if you play alone, while a “3/10” offline game with a well-organized collectible guide may be more predictable.

Verify every candidate in the official catalog

Once you have a shortlist, switch from the database to the PlayStation Plus interface for your own account. Search the exact title and edition, then confirm the access method and any removal date shown on the listing.

What to confirm before downloading

  • Country and account region: The listing must appear in the hub attached to the account you will use for trophies.
  • Membership tier: Confirm whether the game is included with Essential, Extra, or Premium benefits, rather than assuming that a catalog mention applies to every plan.
  • Catalog: Check whether it is in the Game Catalog or Classics Catalog.
  • Access method: Confirm whether your setup supports download, streaming, or both.
  • Removal date: If one is displayed, calculate whether the estimated hours leave a realistic buffer.
  • Edition: Make sure the store listing matches the PS4 or PS5 trophy list you intend to complete.

Physical copies do not establish the included-catalog premise. If the title is not currently available through your plan, treat it as a separate purchase decision rather than calling it a PlayStation Plus option.

Open the exact trophy list before you begin

Do not rely on a search result that combines several editions. Open the trophy information for the installed game and compare its list with the guide you plan to follow.

PS5 path

  1. Press the PS button and open your profile menu.
  2. Choose Profile > Trophies.
  3. Select the game to view its trophy list and progress.

PS4 path

  1. Open Trophies from the PS4 home screen.
  2. Select the game to display its trophy list and requirements.

These paths follow PlayStation’s trophy support guidance: PlayStation trophy support. The support page also notes that trophy conditions vary by game.

Check for separate lists

PS4, PS5, and regional versions can have separate lists. A remastered edition may add, remove, or rearrange trophies, and an automatic upgrade does not guarantee that the guide’s version matches yours. Compare the platform label, the trophy names, and the game’s region before following any route or collectible checklist.

Read the guide for completion blockers

The trophy list tells you what exists; a guide tells you when and how to do it. Read the guide before launching the first chapter or selecting a difficulty.

Missable trophies

A missable trophy depends on a one-time conversation, decision, item, or chapter action. Mark its earliest opportunity and keep a manual save if the game allows one. Missing a single action can force a replay of several hours. Guides sometimes label a trophy “missable” even when a chapter select or post-game cleanup exists, so confirm the recovery method rather than assuming a full replay is required.

Difficulty-specific trophies

Some games require a particular difficulty for one trophy, while others let you change difficulty during the story. Check whether difficulty can be lowered without invalidating the requirement, whether a New Game Plus run is needed, and whether the hardest mode must be selected from the beginning.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Collectibles and cleanup

Collectible trophies are often the reason a short story becomes a long Platinum. Determine whether items can be tracked in-game, whether chapter select preserves them, and whether any are tied to missable events. If the guide recommends a chapter-by-chapter route, follow it instead of assuming that free-roam cleanup will cover everything.

Online, co-op, and server dependence

Online trophies can require another player, a specific mode, or servers that may be quiet or scheduled for closure. Co-op requirements can also make a technically easy Platinum impractical for a solo player. Check the guide for minimum player count, matchmaking availability, and whether local co-op is accepted.

DLC and additional completion

Determine whether the base-game Platinum is separate from DLC trophies. A game may show a complete base list without requiring expansion content, while the trophy screen can also display additional completion percentages. Do not buy or schedule DLC unless the guide says it is part of the Platinum you want.

Use a repeatable selection framework

When several games pass the initial filters, compare them on the same axes instead of choosing by a single score.

Axis What to check Why it matters
Catalog eligibility Current country or region, plan tier, catalog type, and removal date Availability changes, and an old list may no longer apply.
Platform and version PS4 or PS5 edition, regional list, and exact trophy set A separate version can have different requirements or a separate Platinum.
Difficulty Database estimate and the hardest individual trophy A low average effort can hide one demanding requirement.
Time Estimated hours, grind, collectibles, and repeat runs “Easy” does not automatically mean “fast.”
Missables One-time decisions, chapter items, and collectibles Missing one can require a replay or another full run.
Online or co-op Active servers, other players, and local co-op support Multiplayer can add scheduling and availability risk.
Access method Download versus stream and platform support Streaming is plan- and game-dependent; verify the listing and your setup.

A simple decision rule

Choose the candidate with the best combination of low difficulty, short time, and low completion risk—not necessarily the one with the lowest difficulty number. An offline game with no missables and a reliable chapter-select cleanup route is often a safer quick Platinum than a one-hour estimate that depends on a fragile online mode.

How to interpret published time estimates

Third-party estimates are useful for ranking candidates, but they are not promises. They can assume an experienced player, a particular route, or a guide that prevents replays. Your first run may take longer if you explore, miss a collectible, or learn an unfamiliar genre.

Examples of the right level of caution

Twinfinite’s 2024 article on easy Platinum trophies estimated 10–12 hours for each Cat Quest game. It also estimated 80–100 hours combined for Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. Those figures belong to that article’s estimates; they are not independently tested completion times and are not a current statement that those games are in your catalog. Read the article as an example of how wide the gap can be between “easy” and “quick,” not as a live recommendation: Twinfinite’s catalog guide.

Before starting any game from an older list, repeat the catalog check and open a current guide for the exact edition. A dated estimate can remain directionally useful while the membership listing, servers, or trophy version has changed.

Plan around a removal date

If the PlayStation Plus listing shows a removal date, calculate a conservative schedule:

  • Redeem for anything on PlayStationStore: games, add-ons, PlayStationPlus and more.
  • Everything you want to play. Choose from the largest library of PlayStation content.
  • Use gift card funds to contribute towards PlayStationPlus memberships.
  1. Use the guide’s high-end estimate rather than its fastest estimate.
  2. Add time for downloads, patches, learning the controls, and a possible cleanup run.
  3. Reserve a final session for unpopped trophies and troubleshooting.
  4. Start only if the resulting schedule fits comfortably before removal.

Streaming can introduce additional uncertainty through queueing, connection quality, and game-specific support. Download the game when your plan and platform permit it, and verify that your save and trophy progress are being recorded before committing to a long session.

Troubleshoot common Platinum problems

The game does not appear in your catalog

Recheck the account region, membership tier, and spelling of the title. Search for the specific edition and look in both the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog where applicable. If the official hub does not list it, do not treat a third-party database entry as proof of inclusion.

The trophy list does not match the guide

Stop before making irreversible choices. Compare the platform, region, edition, and trophy names. A PS4 guide may not apply to the PS5 version, and a regional release can carry a separate list.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A trophy did not pop

Review the exact wording and the guide’s trigger conditions. Check whether the action had to be completed in a particular order, difficulty, chapter, or mode. Allow the game to save and synchronize before closing it. If the trophy remains locked, use the guide’s recovery path—chapter replay, backup save, or a new run—rather than repeating random actions.

You missed a collectible or one-time event

Look for chapter select, post-game free roam, or a New Game Plus route. If none exists, estimate the replay time before deciding whether the Platinum still fits your schedule. Keep manual saves at guide-recommended points on future runs.

An online trophy is blocking completion

Confirm the required mode, player count, and server status in a current guide or the game’s official service information. Try local co-op if the trophy permits it. If the requirement depends on unavailable servers or a population you cannot access, remove the game from your “quick” shortlist even if its difficulty rating is low.

A practical start-to-finish checklist

  1. Open a current trophy database and select PS4 or PS5.
  2. Filter or sort by low difficulty and short estimated time, keeping both values visible.
  3. Read the hardest-trophy notes and scan for missables, online requirements, collectibles, repeat runs, and DLC conditions.
  4. Open the PlayStation Plus hub for your country and membership tier.
  5. Confirm the exact title, edition, catalog, access method, and removal date.
  6. Download or start the game only after the catalog listing matches your account.
  7. Open the in-console trophy list using the PS5 or PS4 path and compare it with the guide.
  8. Set the correct difficulty and follow the guide from the first missable opportunity.
  9. Track collectibles and online requirements as you progress.
  10. Leave a buffer before any removal date for cleanup and troubleshooting.

Bottom line: the safest way to find an easy Platinum

Use database ratings to discover candidates, but make the final choice from three live checks: your local PlayStation Plus listing, the exact trophy list on your console, and a current guide that exposes completion blockers. Difficulty and time must be evaluated separately. Catalog counts and third-party estimates can narrow the search, but only the current regional listing and the game’s actual trophy requirements tell you whether a Platinum is available and realistic for your setup.
