For Elyos, start with Regional quests in Verteron; for Asmodians, check Altgard. Current guides list four quests in each region that reward a bound Clash Rune Chest. For a repeatable route, guides report that Nightmare mode unlocks at item level 1,000: solo boss clears earn Phantasmal Fragments, which can be spent in the Nightmare Shop. Quest rewards and Nightmare details are guide-reported, so confirm them in your live client.
Find the Clash Rune quests for your faction
The quest names and locations below come from current game guides, not an official NCSoft list. The listed levels are described as availability or recommended levels, not independently verified hard unlock requirements. Check the Regional quest journal for the current quest label and reward.

Asmodians: Altgard
- The Future Within the Past — Uruthumheim, level 30.
- Hugo Mercenaries: An Old Promise — Dranactus, level 32. Complete Past and Present and Deep Shadow in the Hugo Mercenary chain first.
- Fallout — Southern Gribade Highland, level 45, after completing Episode 6 quests.
- Another Survivor — Nornir Assembly, level 45, after completing Episode 6 quests.
Elyos: Verteron
- Cursed Blue Mineral — Aullaeu Village, level 30.
- Zuminon’s Call: Part Two — Western Altamia Highland, level 37. Complete Part One first. Another guide spells the name “Zumion’s Call: Part Two,” so use the live quest journal to confirm the label.
- Kraka Pond Pests — Southern Altamia Highland, level 45, after completing Episode 6 quests.
- All Work and No Play — Aullaeu Village, level 45, after completing Episode 6 quests.
Guides describe each listed reward as a bound Clash Rune Chest containing one guaranteed Rune and enhancement materials. Verify the reward before committing to a quest if the journal’s current details differ.
Choose between the early quests and the repeatable route
| Route | Progression | Repeatable? | What it offers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Faction Regional quests | Take the route for your faction; later quests may require Episode 6 progression. | Quest rewards are presented as early regional opportunities, not a repeatable farm. | Guides report bound Clash Rune Chests. |
| Nightmare mode and shop | Guides report an item-level 1,000 unlock point. | Reported as a repeatable source: solo boss clears earn Phantasmal Fragments. | Spend fragments in the Nightmare Shop for more Clash Runes or chests. Current stock and costs are not established. |
Use Nightmare for additional Runes
Once you reach the reported item-level gate, clear solo boss stages in Nightmare mode to earn Phantasmal Fragments, then look for Clash Runes or chests in the Nightmare Shop. The shop location, inventory, and prices can change; check the current in-game menu rather than relying on an older list.

Equip Runes carefully and check enhancement risk
Guides describe two Rune slots, with a slotted Rune activating its stats. One guide reports 40 item levels per equipped Rune, or 80 across two, along with these base stats: +0.5% PvE Damage Tolerance, +0.5% PvE Damage Boost, +100 Penetration, +1% Combat Speed, and +1% Multi-Hit Chance. These are guide-reported figures, not official specifications confirmed in NCSoft’s update announcement.
Be conservative with enhancement. One guide says +1 is safe and that attempts from +2 onward can fail and destroy the Rune; another places the failure risk at +3 and beyond. The guides therefore conflict on the exact threshold. Before spending a scarce Rune, read the current enhancement screen’s failure warning and keep spare copies if you decide to risk an upgrade. Sportskeeda reports success rates of 80% for +1 to +2, 66% for +2 to +3, and 50% for +3 to +4, but those odds are guide-reported rather than officially verified.

What is confirmed, and what to verify in game
NCSoft’s July 6, 2026 update announcement covers broader progression changes, including a level-cap increase and new regions, but does not document the Clash Rune quest list, Rune stats, shop route, or enhancement rules. Guides provide the actionable details, but those mechanics may change. Use the live Regional quest journal and enhancement screen as the final check.
