The obelisks described by current location guides are the nine Obelisks of Benediction in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, in the region of Norgan. Each is associated with one vocation. Interacting with one lets you buy that vocation’s base weapon skill with Discipline Points; using an Offering Flame reportedly adds an advanced skill, a permanent one-time stat enhancement and a temporary increase to rare-loot chances in Norgan.
There is an important title mismatch. The available obelisk guides identify this content as Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, not the older Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. The older game is associated with Portcrystals and Riftstones in the search results, but those results do not establish that it contains these Obelisks of Benediction. The locations below therefore apply only to the sequel expansion identified by the guides. See the Push Square location guide and the corroborating AllThingsHow guide for the underlying route descriptions.

Confirm which Dragon’s Dogma you are playing
If your title screen, platform library or disc says Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen without the number 2, do not expect these obelisks to appear. The nine sites discussed here are reported in Norgan in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. Because the naming is so similar, checking the exact game and expansion before travelling will save a great deal of time.

#1 Best Overall
- A Grand Adventure – Dragon’s Dogma 2 begins in a subterranean jail, where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories. With their heart taken by the Dragon, the Arisen is set on a path to slay that symbol of the world’s destruction as it soars through the sky on massive wings, breathing flames that scorch everything in its path. With the Arisen’s future veiled in mystery, what challenges and triumphs await on the path to their destiny?
- Single-Player Cooperation – Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey. Pawns create the feeling of a cooperative gameplay experience by offering unique characteristics, skills, and knowledge gained from their experiences with other Arisen.
- Made with RE ENGINE – Capcom’s advanced RE ENGINE produces vividly detailed, high fidelity graphics combined with immersive physics and complex and reactive character AI to create a setting where decisions, and their consequences, come to life.
What an Obelisk of Benediction does
An obelisk is a vocation-specific interaction point. Its first function is straightforward: interact with the stone and purchase that vocation’s base weapon skill with Discipline Points. You do not need to use an Offering Flame for that base purchase, although you do need enough Discipline Points.
An Offering Flame reportedly unlocks three additional benefits at the obelisk:
- Advanced skill: an upgraded form of the vocation skill becomes available.
- Permanent stat enhancement: the obelisk offers one stat increase that can be purchased once at that site.
- Temporary rare-loot effect: the guides report a temporary increase in the chance of rare loot in Norgan.
The available guides do not establish the exact Discipline Point costs, the number of Offering Flames available in a playthrough, the duration or percentage of the rare-loot effect, or whether a later patch changes any of those values. Do not plan a route around an assumed cost or a fixed number of flames until your game displays the current values.

The table combines the location descriptions and stat rewards reported by the guides. Names such as “near a river crossing” or “at a cliff top” are navigation clues, not guaranteed map coordinates.
| Vocation | Reported location and approach | Permanent stat enhancement |
|---|---|---|
| Mage | East of Norgandian Settlement. The site is reached by climbing; one guide calls for a climbing rope and the other specifies a Climbing Hook. | Magick Defense |
| Fighter | Northeast of the Mage obelisk, just off the main road. A second guide places it near a river crossing in Valgr Ravine. | Defense |
| Archer | East of Beorcan Stronghold, on a cliff top approached from the north. Another landmark description places it near Underhill Passage. | Stamina |
| Thief | North of the Archer site, on a cliff and commonly guarded. The alternative landmark is Rivercave Campground. | Strength |
| Sorcerer | South of Beorcan Stronghold at a cliff edge; the corroborating guide describes the area as west of Lake Norgan. | Magick |
| Warrior | Inside Mad-Lord’s Chapel on the route to the Shrine of Wisdom. Climb the stairs, enter the chapel and deal with the strong enemies inside. | Health |
| Mystic Spearhand | Through the northern pass toward the northern part of the map. | Strength and Defense |
| Magick Archer | In Norgan Snowfield, east of the chasm and up a hill. | Magick and Magick Defense |
| Trickster | East of the Magick Archer site. Circle around and over the chasm, then climb the mountain pass. This obelisk is reported to offer two skills. | Health and Stamina |
The guides report no Warfarer obelisk. The nine sites above cover the vocation associations they list: Mage, Fighter, Archer, Thief, Sorcerer, Warrior, Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer and Trickster.

Access conditions you should prepare for
The Mage approach needs climbing equipment
The Mage site is not simply a walk along the road east of Norgandian Settlement. Push Square describes a climbing rope, while AllThingsHow calls the required item a Climbing Hook. The wording differs, but both accounts agree that climbing equipment is part of the approach. If the route ends at an apparently unreachable ledge, check that this equipment is available before abandoning the search.
Northern sites are story-gated
The Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer and Trickster sites are in the northern part of the region. The guides describe those areas as becoming accessible after the relevant story progression, with the Norgan Snowfield opening after the associated quests. If a pass or snowfield remains closed, treat that as a progression gate rather than evidence that the obelisk has moved.
The Warrior site is inside a hostile chapel
Mad-Lord’s Chapel is not an exposed roadside marker. The reported route follows the stairs toward the Shrine of Wisdom, then enters the chapel, where strong enemies must be defeated before the site can be used safely. Bring a party capable of handling that encounter rather than treating the chapel as a quiet landmark.
How to search for an obelisk without losing your route
- Verify the edition. Confirm that you are in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and that your objective is an Obelisk of Benediction in Norgan.
- Choose a vocation target. Start with the vocation whose base or advanced skill you actually intend to use. The obelisks are tied to vocations, so travelling to a different site will not substitute for the one you need.
- Use a large landmark as your first waypoint. Settlements, strongholds, the lake, the snowfield, the chapel and the named passages are more reliable starting points than a vague compass heading.
- Expect the marker to appear late. The guides report that obelisks are not shown on the map until they have been discovered. Search on foot around the described cliff, pass, chapel or chasm instead of waiting for an icon to guide you to an undiscovered site.
- Check vertical terrain. Several sites are on cliff tops, hills or mountain passes. A route that looks correct at ground level may require circling a chasm, climbing stairs or approaching from the opposite side.
- Clear obstacles before judging the location. Guards, strong chapel enemies and blocked story routes can make a correct location appear inaccessible.
- Record the discovery. Once the obelisk is found, confirm that it has appeared on the map and note which vocation and stat it serves. This prevents a later search from repeating the same ground.
These steps are deliberately route-safe rather than pretending to provide exact coordinates. The two guides agree on the overall set of sites but do not supply a single official map with precise turn-by-turn directions for every approach.
How to activate the rewards
Buy the base vocation skill
- Interact with the obelisk associated with the vocation you want.
- Open the vocation-skill option presented by the obelisk.
- Spend the required Discipline Points on the base weapon skill.
The guides report this base purchase as the normal first reward. The exact price is not established in the available material, so rely on the value displayed by your current game.

Use an Offering Flame for the expanded rewards
- Interact with the same vocation obelisk while carrying an Offering Flame.
- Review the additional rewards before confirming the expenditure.
- Select the advanced skill if it fits your build.
- Purchase the permanent stat enhancement when you are satisfied that this is the obelisk where you want the one-time increase.
- Activate the reported temporary rare-loot benefit when you are ready to spend time looting in Norgan.
The permanent enhancement is described as a one-time purchase at that obelisk, so do not assume it can be bought repeatedly. The rare-loot effect is temporary, which makes timing relevant: activating it immediately before leaving Norgan wastes part of its practical value. The sources do not publish a duration or a precise probability increase, so use the game’s own confirmation screen as the authority.
Reported skill names and why you should verify them in game
The guides give example skill pairs such as Virtuous Bolt and Exalted Bolt for Mage, Whirlwind Strike and Hurricane Strike for Fighter, Falcon Arrow and Kite Arrow for Archer, and Fanged Schism and Fanged Rift for Thief. They also list skills for the remaining vocations, with the Trickster obelisk described as offering two skill pairs.
Skill names, effects and availability can be changed by an update or displayed differently by edition. Treat those names as guide-reported labels and check the current in-game description before spending Discipline Points or an Offering Flame. The reliable decision is the reward panel shown when you interact with your obelisk, not a remembered name from a previous version.
Choosing an order for the nine sites
Prioritize the vocation you will play
Because each obelisk is vocation-specific, a Mage-focused character gains more immediate value from the Mage site than from detouring to an unrelated skill. The same logic applies to the other seven vocation sites. If you are experimenting with several vocations, map the sites you can reach and spend flames only after deciding which advanced skills and stat boosts fit your next stretch of play.
Pair nearby southern sites
The Mage and Fighter descriptions place those sites near Norgandian Settlement and the road northeast of it. The Archer, Thief and Sorcerer descriptions cluster around Beorcan Stronghold, the surrounding cliffs, Underhill Passage, Rivercave Campground and Lake Norgan. That makes a southern exploration circuit more practical than making isolated trips, but the exact path depends on terrain, enemies and your current map discovery.

Save a northern excursion for the correct story point
The Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer and Trickster descriptions all point north, with the latter two connected by the chasm and mountain-pass terrain. Waiting until the northern story gates are open avoids repeated travel. Once the Snowfield is accessible, the Magick Archer and Trickster sites can be treated as one northern search rather than unrelated objectives.

“There is no obelisk icon on my map.”
This is expected before discovery. Search the physical location described by the guide first; the reported map behavior is that the icon appears only after you find the site.
“The Mage location ends at an unreachable ledge.”
Check for the required climbing equipment. The guides use different terms—climbing rope and Climbing Hook—but both describe a climbing-based approach.
“The northern route is blocked.”
Advance the relevant story quests and return when the northern pass or Norgan Snowfield is open. The guides characterize these locations as story-gated rather than freely available from the start.
“I reached Mad-Lord’s Chapel but cannot use the Warrior obelisk safely.”
Follow the chapel approach, clear the strong enemies and then interact with the obelisk. The Warrior site is reported inside the chapel, not outside it on the road.

“I have the wrong skill or stat on screen.”
Check the vocation association before confirming a purchase. An obelisk serves its named vocation; it is not a universal skill vendor. If the advanced reward is absent, verify that you are using an Offering Flame and that you have met the displayed resource requirements.
“The guide’s landmark does not match my map.”
Compare both guide descriptions and use the shared geography rather than a single phrase. For example, the Fighter site is described as northeast of the Mage site and also near a river crossing in Valgr Ravine; the Archer site is described from Beorcan Stronghold and also by Underhill Passage. These are route-context differences, not proof of an additional obelisk.
What the available guides do not establish
- They do not provide an official Capcom map or guaranteed turn-by-turn directions for every site.
- They do not establish exact Discipline Point prices or Offering Flame costs.
- They do not state how many Offering Flames a playthrough provides.
- They do not give a precise duration or percentage for the temporary rare-loot effect.
- They do not confirm whether a later patch changes reward costs, skill names or effects.
- They do not support transferring these locations to the older Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen.
That limits how precisely a route can be written, but it does not change the practical method: identify the sequel expansion, travel to the vocation’s reported Norgan landmark, discover the obelisk so it is added to the map, then decide whether the base skill and Offering Flame rewards justify the detour.

Sources and edition note
The location and reward descriptions are reported by Push Square and cross-checked against AllThingsHow. Both identify the material as belonging to Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. If your copy is the older release, these sources are not evidence that the nine Norgan obelisks exist in it.
