In Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, find a hidden Cheat Code around the Island, interact with it, then enter its directional sequence to free a Sprite ally. The Cheat Code Locator can point you to the nearest code. To summon a Sprite, Epic confirms that you hold a button, but its public notes do not specify a universal control or menu sequence for every platform.
Where to find Sprites in Fortnite
In Override, the documented way to discover Sprites is to search for Cheat Codes hidden around the Island. Epic says they can be tucked inside points of interest (POIs) or sprayed on walls; it does not publish fixed coordinates for every code. Epic’s v42.00 Override update notes give the official instruction: “Interact with one and enter the Cheat Code to free a Sprite ally.”

How to use the Cheat Code Locator
Epic describes the Cheat Code Locator as a Gizmo that locates the nearest Cheat Code. That makes it a way to narrow your search, rather than a replacement for interacting with the code and entering its sequence. Epic’s update notes do not explain a universal way to acquire or activate the Locator, so the exact steps may depend on the current in-game implementation.
How to equip or summon a Sprite
Epic’s update notes confirm that summoning a Sprite uses a hold input: the notes mention reducing the time needed to hold the button. They do not name a universal button, inventory slot, or menu path across platforms. Check the current in-game control prompts for your platform rather than relying on a button assignment that may not apply to your setup.

Finding a Sprite and summoning one are distinct actions: the Cheat Code frees an ally, while summoning requires the hold input. The reviewed notes do not provide enough detail to specify a cross-platform equip sequence.
What the different Sprites do
Epic’s Season 4 notes describe several distinct effects. Choose based on what would help in the moment; the notes do not rank Sprites or establish one as best for every player. See Epic’s Override update notes for the current-season details.

Batman Sprite is a separate quest-based example, not a general description of every Sprite. In Epic’s July 2026 announcement, completing new quests as they unlock adds the Sprite to the collection; its stated features include deploying the Bat Cape midair and finding rare Sprites in chests more often in Battle Royale matches. Season 3 Sprites, Sprite Garden, and Season 4 Battle Royale
Do not confuse the Season 3: Runners collection system with finding and summoning Sprites in Season 4 matches. Season 3 involved finding and extracting Sprites into a collection for future matches. Epic says that collection is preserved in Sprite Garden, where players can play with their Sprites and show them to friends; Epic Support also describes visiting friends’ garden sanctuaries. Sprite Garden is the showcase and play space for the preserved Season 3 collection, not another name for equipping a Sprite as an active Season 4 Battle Royale power. Season 4 introduced a new Sprite generation. Epic’s Override notes describe the current-season mechanics.
Can you use Sprites in Ranked?
Epic’s update notes say Sprites were vaulted in Ranked Battle Royale on August 28, 2026, while Epic evaluated whether they belonged in the Ranked loot pool. That is a dated availability note, not a guarantee of their status in later updates. Check the latest playlist and update information before relying on Sprites in Ranked. Does finding or summoning Sprites require the Battle Pass?
Epic’s public Sprite instructions reviewed here do not say that a Battle Pass purchase is required to find or summon Sprites. The live Battle Pass page lists November 1, 2026, Eastern Time, as the end of the Chapter 7 Season 4 pass; that date is pass timing, not an eligibility rule for Sprite mechanics.
