The safest routine is simple: read the active objective, travel to its named map area, search the specified loot category or interactable, move the quest item into an available Safe Pocket immediately, then extract and deliver it to the quest giver if the objective requires delivery. Community guides report that a quest item in a Safe Pocket survives elimination while one left in the main inventory is lost. Because the official ARC Raiders homepage does not state this mechanic, treat it as guide-reported behavior and confirm any current in-game instructions.
Start with the objective, not a guessed route
ARC Raiders quests are not all item hunts. An objective may ask you to travel, search, collect, deliver, fight, solve a puzzle, install or repair something, take a photograph, or complete several different tasks during one raid. The active objective is therefore your most reliable route planner. Read every verb and noun before entering a dangerous area.

- Travel: reach a named map location or point of interest.
- Search: inspect a loot category, container, room, terminal, drawer or other interactable.
- Collect: pick up a named object and keep it through extraction.
- Deliver: bring the object back to a specified quest giver after extracting.
- Combat: eliminate a target or survive a combat condition.
- Puzzle, installation or repair: use an object at a particular station rather than merely carrying it.
- Photography: capture the requested subject or location.
Look for three details in the objective text: the map, the named area and the action required there. A broad instruction such as finding a residential loot item is different from a fixed interaction at one drawer or terminal. The distinction determines whether you should sweep several buildings or move directly to one room.
Quest-item storage: the Safe Pocket rule
ArcMaps and several quest walkthroughs describe a sharp difference between the Safe Pocket and the ordinary inventory. Their account is that a required quest item stored in a Safe Pocket remains with you after elimination, while an item left in the main inventory is lost. The Movie Night and Last Entry guides both advise moving the item immediately, not after you have finished looting.

This behavior is reported by community references rather than stated on the official homepage, so check the current in-game description of your Safe Pocket or augment. Availability also depends on whether your character has an augment that provides a Safe Pocket and whether a slot is free.

A Safe Pocket protects retention; it does not satisfy a delivery objective by itself. If the quest says to deliver the item, you still have to leave the raid and return to the named quest giver.
A reliable quest-item workflow
- Open the active objective. Record the map, named point of interest, item name and required action. If several objectives are listed, separate the ones that can be completed together from those that require a return to a character.
- Classify the search. Decide whether the objective describes a broad loot category, such as residential loot, or a specific interaction, such as a drawer, terminal or deposit box.
- Enter the correct map and area. Do not substitute a similarly named building on another map. A guide route is useful only when it matches the objective currently displayed in your game.
- Search deliberately. For a broad category, clear the relevant building type and check containers that match the wording. For a fixed interactable, go to the named room or structure and inspect the exact object described.
- Secure the item immediately. As soon as the quest item appears in your inventory, place it in an available Safe Pocket. The Movie Night guide’s instruction is: “Put the tapes in your Safe Pocket immediately to ensure you don’t lose them if you are eliminated.”
- Stop taking unnecessary risks. Once the required item is secured, avoid optional fights and detours unless another active objective can be completed safely on the way out.
- Extract. Reaching an extraction point is necessary when the objective requires the item to be carried out. Picking it up does not count as delivery.
- Return to the named quest giver. After extraction, interact with the character or station specified by the objective. Only then is a delivery step complete.
- Verify completion. Check that the objective changed state before starting another raid. If it did not, reread the exact wording; you may have collected an item that still needs to be installed, used or handed over.
Broad loot searches versus fixed interactions
Broad category searches
A broad search tells you what kind of loot to look for rather than naming one guaranteed container. In Movie Night, the Portable TV is described as a residential loot item. That means the practical approach is to search residential areas and inspect the household containers and rooms where that category normally appears. A single building is not guaranteed by the wording.
When the objective is broad, use a compact sweep: choose one listed residential zone, search it methodically, and leave if the item does not appear rather than wandering across the entire map without a plan. If the item is absent, try another residential zone named by a current guide or use the objective’s own map hints.

Fixed interactables
A fixed interaction points to a particular object in a named location. The Stack of Movie Tapes is the clear example: the guide directs players to a sheet-covered drawer in the southwest corner of the Cultural Archives on the upper floor of Stella Montis. Searching unrelated containers will not replace that interaction.
For a fixed search, confirm the floor, room, corner and object description before you enter. The safest route is usually the shortest path to the interactable, followed by an immediate Safe Pocket transfer and extraction.
Movie Night: complete route and item handling
ARC Raiders Hub lists three objectives for Movie Night. Two involve delivering items to Apollo, and one requires a specific search on Stella Montis.

- Dam Battlegrounds: Pale Apartments, Ruby Residence or Pattern House.
- Buried City: residential areas.
These are guide-suggested zones, not a promise that every raid will contain the item in one particular building. Choose the listed zone that best matches your drop, route and current map conditions. Search the residential structures, pick up the Portable TV when it appears, and transfer it to the Safe Pocket before moving on.
Finding the Stack of Movie Tapes
- Load into Stella Montis and travel to the Cultural Archives.
- Reach the upper floor.
- Move to the southwest corner.
- Inspect the drawer covered by a sheet.
- Search it for the Stack of Movie Tapes.
- Put the tapes in an available Safe Pocket immediately.
- Extract from the raid.
- Return to Apollo and complete the delivery objective.
The tape objective is more precise than the Portable TV objective. If you search ordinary drawers elsewhere in the building, you have not followed the location described by the guide. If the drawer or item is not present, use the live objective and current map state as the authority because locations can change after updates.
Last Entry: a quest-specific Stella Montis sequence
GameSpot’s Last Entry walkthrough, published March 31, 2026, describes a route through the Seed Vault on Stella Montis. This is an example of a quest-specific chain, not a universal method for every quest item.

- Search the terminal. Use the terminal in the Seed Vault to obtain the clues required by the objective.
- Find the Seed Vault Box Key. The walkthrough places the key in hazmat suits in an adjacent room.
- Power the large door. Use a fuel cell to activate the door mechanism.
- Use the key at the terminal. After the door is powered, apply the Seed Vault Box Key at the indicated terminal.
- Take the Official Shutdown Documentation. Collect the document from the deposit box.
- Protect the document. The walkthrough recommends moving it into the Safe Pocket immediately.
- Extract and deliver. Leave the raid with the document and deliver it to Shani.
The important lesson is the order: clues, key, power, terminal, deposit box, Safe Pocket, extraction and delivery. Carrying the key or documentation in the wrong sequence will not bypass the required interactions.

Why picking up an item does not finish the quest
Quest systems often separate three states that are easy to confuse:
- Located: you reached the correct place.
- Collected: the item entered your inventory.
- Delivered or used: the item reached the quest giver or was applied at the required station.
Safe Pocket storage only addresses the danger between collection and extraction. For Movie Night, the Portable TV and Stack of Movie Tapes still have to be delivered to Apollo. For Last Entry, the Official Shutdown Documentation still has to be delivered to Shani. If the objective remains active after you return, inspect its verb: “deliver,” “install,” “repair,” “search” and “photograph” require different final actions.
What to do when a guide route fails
The named container is empty
First confirm that you are on the correct map, floor and room. Then reread the current objective for a changed item name or location. Community guides can lag behind updates, and the reviewed sources specifically warn that item locations and map conditions are volatile. Do not assume an empty drawer proves the quest is broken.

Recheck the loot category. A Portable TV is described as residential loot, so searching industrial rooms or random containers is a poor match. Move to another residential zone listed for the quest, preferably one that fits your extraction plan, and search systematically rather than opening containers at random.
You were eliminated before securing the item
Under the mechanic reported by ArcMaps and the walkthroughs, an item left in the main inventory is lost on elimination. Repeat the search and transfer the replacement to the Safe Pocket immediately. If no Safe Pocket is available, shorten the route and avoid optional objectives after collection.
The item survived but the objective is incomplete
Protection is not completion. Extract first, then return to the named quest giver or perform the required installation, repair or other interaction. Confirm the objective state after the hand-in.
The guide and your game disagree
Give priority to the live in-game objective and current map conditions. The reviewed pages are useful route references, but they are not guaranteed to reflect every update, spawn adjustment or objective revision.
Planning a low-risk quest raid
Quest-item runs reward a different decision process from ordinary loot runs. Before deploying, identify the moment at which the raid becomes “good enough” to leave. For a fixed interactable, that moment is usually immediately after the item enters the Safe Pocket. For a broad search, decide in advance how many residential zones you will check before extracting or attempting another raid.
- Choose the shortest viable route from your entry point to the named area, then from that area to extraction.
- Keep the objective visible so you do not confuse a quest item with ordinary loot.
- Reserve Safe Pocket capacity before searching. Do not fill the slot with optional loot and then discover that the quest item has nowhere protected to go.
- Separate quest risk from loot greed. Once the required item is safe, extra containers and fights add danger without advancing the delivery.
- Use guide locations as leads, not guarantees. Verify every named room, drawer, terminal and map against the current objective.
Quest-item checklist
- Read the active objective and identify its action.
- Note the exact map and named area.
- Decide whether the search is broad-category loot or a fixed interactable.
- Confirm that an augment-provided Safe Pocket is available.
- Search only the matching buildings, rooms or objects.
- Transfer the required item immediately after pickup.
- Extract before taking optional risks.
- Return to the named quest giver or complete the specified use interaction.
- Check that the objective is marked complete.
How current are the quest details?
Quest routes, spawn locations and map conditions can change. The practical instructions above are based on ARC Raiders Hub’s Movie Night guide, ArcMaps’ Safe Pocket explanation, the ARC Raiders Wiki reference, GameSpot’s Last Entry walkthrough and the official ARC Raiders homepage as checked for this topic. The homepage did not provide a mechanics statement about Safe Pockets, so that behavior remains a guide-reported account rather than an official guarantee.
Published quest totals should also not be used for planning. ArcMaps, on a page marked updated March 2026, reports 79 main-chain quests, while the ARC Raiders Wiki page reports 113. Those figures conflict, and neither retrieved page is an official game statement; the number of quests is therefore intentionally not treated as definitive here.
