On a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone, open Settings > Connections > Mobile networks, then turn on VoLTE calls for the SIM you want to use, if the option appears. The control may be missing because support depends on your carrier, country, phone model and line configuration—not necessarily because the phone cannot use VoLTE.
Find the VoLTE setting
- Open Settings.
- Tap Connections.
- Tap Mobile networks.
- If VoLTE calls is shown, switch it on for the relevant SIM. On dual-SIM Galaxy phones, the setting may be managed separately for each line.
Samsung’s US support instructions use this same general path and describe VoLTE calls as a switch in Mobile networks: Samsung US: Use VoLTE on your Galaxy phone. The precise wording or menu placement can vary by model, software and carrier.

Why the VoLTE switch may be missing
A missing switch does not by itself establish that VoLTE is unavailable. The feature requires carrier support for the phone model, an eligible line and SIM, and LTE coverage. Samsung notes that availability can vary by country, carrier and device model in its Latin America VoLTE guidance, updated September 16, 2026.
Some carriers manage the feature without showing a user-facing switch. For example, SaskTel says VoLTE is permanently enabled on Samsung devices running Android 14 or later on its service; that is a SaskTel-specific policy, not a universal Samsung setting. See SaskTel’s Samsung VoLTE information.

What VoLTE does
VoLTE means Voice over LTE: calls travel over the carrier’s 4G LTE network. Depending on the phone and operator, it can provide improved voice quality, faster call setup, and the ability to use mobile data during a call. These are possible benefits, not guarantees for every device or network. Samsung also notes that simultaneous voice and data may be supported when the phone and network support VoLTE: Samsung US support.
Troubleshoot VoLTE when it is missing or not working
Check the following in order, then contact your carrier if the service still does not work:

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.

- Confirm carrier support. Ask whether VoLTE is available for your specific Galaxy model and location.
- Check line and SIM eligibility. Confirm that your line, plan and SIM are enabled for the service. Do not replace the SIM unless your carrier advises it.
- Check LTE coverage. VoLTE depends on the carrier’s 4G LTE network being available where you are.
- Update the phone. Install the latest software update offered for your device.
- Verify network mode. Make sure the phone is set to use LTE/4G.
- Restart after a SIM change. If you recently changed SIMs, restart the phone and check the setting again.
- Reset network settings if needed. If the checks above do not help, reset the phone’s network settings, then ask the carrier to verify VoLTE provisioning on your line.
These checks follow Samsung’s VoLTE setup and troubleshooting guidance.
