Start with Apple’s Apple Events catalog for keynote recordings and episode notes, then check the Steve Jobs Archive for selected talks and context. Neither destination is presented as a complete index of every Steve Jobs keynote. For older or hard-to-identify events, use legacy Apple pages and independent catalogs to find candidates, then verify the event, date, speaker and whether the video is complete before relying on it.
Where to look for Steve Jobs keynote recordings
Apple’s Apple Events catalog
Apple describes its Apple Events podcast page as a home for keynote addresses and an archive of past events. Search there by event name and year—for example, “Macworld 2007 keynote” or “WWDC 2010 keynote.” Apple also says, “Tap on the episode notes to find transcripts.” Check the notes for the specific episode: the listing does not promise a transcript for every older recording. The Steve Jobs Archive
The Steve Jobs Archive offers selected historical video and reflections, not an exhaustive chronological keynote index. Its stories page describes the material as “Videos and reflections drawn from Steve’s life and work.” Examples include a digitally enhanced version of Jobs’s 2005 Stanford commencement address and a presentation from the 1983 International Design Conference in Aspen. Use it for notable talks and context, but don’t assume that a missing event was never recorded. Steve Jobs Archive stories.

Legacy Apple event pages and independent indexes
If the recording is not in those destinations, search the event name and year and look for an Apple event page. Apple’s WWDC 2008 page identifies Steve Jobs as a speaker and describes video-on-demand in QuickTime and MPEG-4. That is evidence that some older event pages remain available; it does not establish that every legacy page, format or playback control still works in a current browser.
#1 Best Overall
Independent event indexes can help locate a likely talk, but treat them as discovery aids rather than proof of completeness or archival integrity. The author of an independent Steve Jobs video collection points readers to NotesKey for speakers, demos, videos and moments from nearly all Apple events from 1997 to 2018, while noting that some Apple Expo keynotes were missing. How to identify the right keynote
When a remembered product launch, event or quote could match several talks, verify the candidate before citing it. Compare the source page with an official event page or another well-attributed record, and check:
- Event and date: Does the recording match the event name and year you remember?
- Speaker and attribution: Is Jobs identified as a speaker by a credible source?
- Completeness: Is it the full keynote or just an excerpt, highlight reel or individual segment?
- Context: Do the surrounding demonstrations and announcements fit the event?
- Provenance: Does the page explain where its video came from, or link back to an official source?
For two competing copies, weigh source authority and attribution alongside event/date match, completeness, transcript or caption availability, playback format, and any explanation of provenance or terms. A third-party index can point you toward a candidate; it does not certify that a file is original or unaltered.

Rank #3
An independent All About Steve Jobs post dated 20 March 2021 said that only some videos in its collection had transcripts, marked with a CC icon, and described transcripts as an ongoing project. The author also said timestamps marked speaker changes or narrative breaks. Because that information is dated, check the current video page for its present transcript or caption status rather than assuming the old coverage still applies. How to preserve a keynote reference responsibly
- Capture the event record. Save the exact title, date, speaker, source-page URL and date you accessed it. Label whether the source is Apple, the Steve Jobs Archive, an independent index or another third-party copy.
- Record what the page actually offers. Note the video format and any transcript or caption link. Apple’s WWDC 2008 page, for example, described QuickTime and MPEG-4 delivery; those formats should not be assumed for other events.
- Use an offline option only if the source provides one. Follow the source’s stated terms and keep the event details with any permitted file. The pages cited here do not establish a universal official download option or reuse permission for all legacy keynotes.
- Keep provenance with a lawful personal reference copy. Retain at least one source URL and descriptive event metadata so someone revisiting the material can trace it.
- Check rights before sharing. A page hosting a video does not by itself grant permission to copy or redistribute it. Review the applicable source terms before making a copy available to others.
Can you download every Steve Jobs keynote?
No universal official download or offline-copy option is established for all Steve Jobs keynotes. Availability and controls may differ by recording and source page, so check the specific item and its terms. Do not infer permission to redistribute a video from its presence on an archive or index.
