Open an offer, read its merchant terms, tap Earn cash back, and complete the purchase on your phone through the link Wallet opens. Cash back can stay pending through the merchant’s return period; once at least $5 is available, you can redeem it for a Samsung Rewards card.
Samsung Rewards points are a different balance. They are earned from eligible Samsung purchases and applied to qualified Samsung.com or Shop Samsung transactions, not exchanged for cash. Menu names and availability differ by country, device and app version, so treat the US path below as US guidance and verify the labels shown in your own Wallet app.

Where to find cashback offers in Samsung Wallet
Samsung’s US support instructions place merchant cashback in the Wallet app’s All section. Use this path:
- Open Samsung Wallet on a compatible Galaxy phone.
- Tap All.
- Select Cash back awards.
- Browse the available offers using Featured, Cash back, Brands or Expiring, where those filters appear.
Open an individual merchant listing before deciding. The listing contains the qualifying products or services, the rate or fixed amount, exclusions, coupon restrictions, expiration date and other conditions. Samsung’s US material uses 2% and 5% as examples of different retailer rates; those figures illustrate how offers can differ and are not a promise of current rates.

If your app does not show “Cash back awards”
Samsung’s US FAQ search material also refers to a Perks tab with highlighted deals, merchant or category search, and a route through Menu. That wording does not match every US support page or app build. A Perks label, a Menu entry or another localized name can reflect a different version or market. Do not assume the absence of one label means cashback is unavailable: check All, Menu and any Perks area, then read the offer details displayed in your installation.
Samsung Korea and other markets use different benefits and points experiences. Country, device model, software version and account region can change both the menu path and the merchants shown.
How to activate an offer and make a qualifying purchase
Finding an offer is not enough. Samsung requires you to start the transaction through Wallet so the merchant can attribute the order correctly.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- In Cash back awards, select the merchant you intend to use.
- Read the complete terms, including eligible categories, exclusions, minimums, expiration and coupon rules.
- Tap Earn cash back.
- Choose the merchant app or website offered by Wallet.
- Keep shopping and complete checkout on the same phone through that Wallet-started session.
Samsung specifically warns that an order begun on a phone and finished later on a computer or another device does not qualify. It also advises against navigating out of Wallet and returning during checkout because leaving the tracked flow may deactivate the offer. Some merchants exclude purchases made with particular coupon codes, even when the code itself is valid at checkout.
Before you tap “Earn cash back”
- Check whether the offer applies to the exact item, service, subscription or delivery option you plan to buy.
- Note the offer’s end date and any merchant-specific return or cancellation conditions.
- Confirm whether a coupon, gift card, loyalty discount or other promotion is excluded.
- Plan to finish on the phone. Opening a second publisher, price-comparison page or affiliate link can change which channel receives credit.
Keep the confirmation email, order number and a screenshot of the offer terms until the cash back is available. Those records help if the merchant later rejects the order.
How to check pending cashback, purchase history and notifications
For the US Wallet flow, Samsung places the activity log here:
- Open Samsung Wallet and tap All.
- Open Cash back awards.
- Tap More options (the three vertical dots).
- Select Cash back history.
The history screen separates Available cash back, Pending, Total earned and Recent Purchases. Pending means the merchant or its tracking network has not released the amount for redemption yet; it is not the same as an immediately spendable balance.

Cashback notifications
Wallet can notify you about qualifying purchases and later availability. Samsung says the first qualifying-purchase notification can take up to 24 hours, depending on the merchant’s terms. A second notification is sent when the cash back becomes available. Enable cash-back notifications in the Wallet settings if you want those alerts, but continue checking Cash back history when an order does not appear promptly.
When cashback becomes available
Merchants commonly hold cashback until their required return period ends. The length of that hold varies by merchant and offer, so a pending entry can remain that way after the order ships. Samsung also says order reporting may be immediate, take up to 32 hours, or wait until the merchant reports shipment.
Do not treat the pending period as a guaranteed payment date. A returned, canceled or otherwise ineligible order can be rejected during review. The merchant’s terms control the qualifying event and the release timing.
How to redeem Samsung Wallet cashback
In Samsung’s US flow, redemption requires at least $5 in available cash back. Pending amounts do not count toward that threshold until the merchant releases them.
Recommended Free Tools
- Open Samsung Wallet > All > Cash back awards.
- Tap More options (three vertical dots).
- Choose Redeem cash back.
- Review and accept the Samsung Rewards Card terms.
- Tap Get rewards card.
The resulting Samsung Rewards card can be used wherever Samsung Pay or Samsung Wallet is accepted, subject to the card terms. Samsung says a Galaxy phone is required to redeem Wallet cashback; tablets do not support the Wallet app for this purpose.
What to do when an order is missing or rejected
Use the timing window first. If the order has not appeared, allow up to 32 hours or wait until shipment when the merchant reports only at that stage. Then inspect Cash back history and compare the order details with the offer terms.
Common reasons Samsung lists for rejection
- Cancellation or return: the merchant canceled the order or you returned the purchase.
- Another publisher received attribution: more than one affiliate or marketing source was opened, and the merchant credited a different source.
- Checkout outside Wallet: the purchase was completed through another channel, device or link, so Samsung Wallet was not the attributed source.
- Excluded promotion: the merchant’s terms disallow the coupon code or discount used.
For a canceled or returned order, contact the merchant first. For attribution problems, future purchases should begin with the Wallet-provided merchant link and remain in that session from product selection through payment. If the order still does not appear after the stated reporting period, keep your order evidence and use the support route shown in Wallet or the merchant’s help system.

Samsung Rewards points are not Wallet merchant cashback
Two balances can appear in Samsung services, but they follow different rules and are earned in different ways.
| Feature | Merchant cashback in Wallet | Samsung Rewards points |
|---|---|---|
| How it is earned | Qualifying purchases started through a Wallet merchant offer | Eligible Samsung.com, Shop Samsung app and other qualifying Samsung purchases |
| Where to track it | Samsung Wallet > All > Cash back awards > More options > Cash back history | Samsung.com under My Account; Samsung Members under Benefits > Samsung Rewards; or Shop Samsung under My Rewards |
| When it clears | After merchant reporting and any required return-period review | After transaction confirmation and applicable return or chargeback periods |
| How it is used | Redeemed once at least $5 is available for a Samsung Rewards card | Applied at checkout toward qualified Samsung products |
| Cash conversion | Redeemed through the Wallet cashback flow into a Rewards card | Samsung says points cannot be exchanged for cash |
| Transferability | Controlled by the cash-back and card terms | Samsung says points are non-transferable |
Samsung Rewards point expiry and value
Samsung’s US Rewards FAQ says points earned during a month remain valid through the last day of the month 36 calendar months after that earning month. The oldest points are deducted first when you redeem. For example, points earned in April 2026 remain valid through April 30, 2029, under that rule.
The same FAQ states a value of $0.005 per point on Samsung.com or in the Shop Samsung app. Samsung notes that this value can change under its policies. Points are not transferable and are not cash.
How points are calculated on Samsung purchases
For eligible Samsung.com and Shop Samsung app purchases, the displayed point amount is calculated after discounts and excludes shipping, taxes and other fees. Points can show as pending after a qualifying order and are credited only after transaction confirmation and the applicable return or chargeback period. These points rules do not change the status of a separate merchant cashback offer in Wallet.
Optional: use Samsung Pay Benefits in Samsung Internet
Samsung also describes Samsung Pay Benefits, a browser add-on for Samsung Internet. It is an optional way to encounter partner offers, not a prerequisite for finding offers in Wallet.
- On a phone or tablet, open Samsung Internet.
- Tap Menu.
- Choose Add-ons.
- Install Samsung Pay Benefits.
- Connect your Samsung Account.
- Activate offers displayed on participating merchant sites.
- Use Samsung Wallet at checkout when the offer requires it.
Samsung says a Galaxy phone is required to redeem cashback earned in Wallet because tablets do not support the Wallet app. That device limitation applies even though the browser add-on can be installed on a tablet.
How to compare two Wallet offers
A higher percentage is not automatically the better deal. Compare each listing on the same criteria before activating it:

- Eligible spend: verify that the item or service you need is included.
- Rate or amount: compare the displayed percentage or fixed reward, not an example from another merchant.
- Exclusions: check brands, categories, subscriptions, shipping, gift cards and other excluded items.
- Coupon compatibility: determine whether your discount code voids cashback.
- Expiration: make sure you can complete the purchase before the offer closes.
- Return-period hold: account for how long money may remain pending.
- Tracking route: use only the Wallet-started link and finish on the same phone.
Activate only after these checks. Starting several publisher links while comparing prices can cause the merchant to credit a different marketing channel.
A practical checklist for every cashback purchase
- Open the offer in Samsung Wallet and read all terms.
- Confirm the merchant, eligible product and displayed rate.
- Check the expiration date and coupon restrictions.
- Tap Earn cash back and use the app or website Wallet provides.
- Stay in the Wallet-started session; do not switch to a computer or another device.
- Save the order confirmation and offer details.
- Allow up to 32 hours or shipment for merchant reporting, depending on the offer.
- Watch Cash back history for Pending and Available cash back.
- Wait through the merchant’s return period.
- Redeem from More options > Redeem cash back after the available balance reaches $5.
Managing offers without losing eligibility
Think of each activation as a tracked shopping session rather than a coupon you can apply later. Activate the offer immediately before shopping, use the merchant destination Wallet presents, and avoid opening competing publisher links. If you need to pause, save the order details and return through the same Wallet flow rather than switching devices. Recheck the listing if the purchase is delayed because the expiration date and terms can change.

Keep a simple record of the merchant, activation date, displayed rate, order number and final order total. This is especially useful when an offer has a long return period or when the merchant reports only after shipment. The record also lets you distinguish a legitimate pending balance from a purchase that was never attributed.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the different status labels mean
- Recent Purchases: orders Wallet has listed in the activity view.
- Pending: the merchant or tracking network is still validating the order; the amount cannot yet be redeemed.
- Available cash back: the amount released after the merchant’s review and return window.
- Total earned: the cumulative amount shown in the history view, which can include money already redeemed.
A notification is helpful but not definitive. Samsung allows up to 24 hours for the first qualifying-purchase alert, while order reporting itself can take up to 32 hours or wait for shipment. Check the history screen and the merchant’s terms before concluding that an order failed.
Device, account and market considerations
A Galaxy phone is required to redeem Wallet cash back, while Samsung Internet’s Benefits add-on can also be installed on a tablet. That does not make a tablet a substitute for the Wallet redemption device. You also need to use the Samsung Account and Wallet installation associated with the offer; a different account or region may show different merchants, points rules or labels.
The US instructions are not a promise that every country has the same Cash back awards menu. If your installation uses Benefits, Perks or another label, follow the local screen and its displayed terms. Never infer a current rate, participating retailer or redemption threshold from an offer shown in another market.
Key limitations to keep in mind
- Offer rates, participating merchants and menu labels change.
- US instructions do not establish a universal path for every country.
- Cashback tracking depends on correct attribution; leaving Wallet or finishing elsewhere can invalidate it.
- Pending cashback is subject to merchant review and return periods.
- Samsung Rewards points and merchant cashback are separate balances with separate redemption rules.

How do I activate a Samsung Wallet cashback offer?
Open the merchant listing, read its terms, tap Earn cash back, and select the merchant app or website Wallet provides. Complete the order on that same phone in the Wallet-started session.
Why is my Samsung Wallet cashback still pending?
The merchant may still be reporting or reviewing the order, or its return period may not have ended. Reporting can be immediate, take up to 32 hours, or wait until shipment; pending money is not redeemable.
How much cash back do I need to redeem?
Samsung’s US flow requires at least $5 in available cash back. Pending amounts do not count until released, and redemption creates a Samsung Rewards card.

Samsung lists returns or cancellations, attribution given to another affiliate or publisher, checkout outside Wallet, and excluded coupon codes as common causes. Review the offer terms and keep your order evidence.
Are Samsung Rewards points the same as Wallet cashback?
No. Wallet cashback comes from participating merchant offers and can be redeemed to a Rewards card after the threshold and holding period. Rewards points apply to qualified Samsung purchases, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are non-transferable.
When do Samsung Rewards points expire?
Samsung’s US FAQ says points remain valid through the last day of the month 36 calendar months after the month in which they were earned. The oldest points are deducted first when you redeem.
The Bottom Line
For US users, start at Samsung Wallet > All > Cash back awards, read every merchant condition, tap Earn cash back, and finish on the same phone through Wallet’s link. Allow up to 32 hours or shipment for reporting and the merchant’s return period for release. Redeem once at least $5 is available, and keep Samsung Rewards points separate because they follow different expiry, value and spending rules.
