To equip a Fortnite skin you already own, open Locker from the lobby, select the Outfit, and click back. If the skin is missing, first check that you are signed into the Epic account that bought it, then check Locker categories, filters, and Archived items.
How to equip a skin from your Fortnite Locker
- Launch Fortnite and go to the lobby.
- Open Locker.
- Select the Outfit you want to use.
- Click back to return; the selected Outfit is equipped.
Use the corresponding Locker category for other cosmetics, such as Back Bling or Pickaxe. Epic’s published equip instructions describe this route without a platform-specific variation.

What to check if a purchased skin is missing
Work through these checks in order; a cosmetic that is hard to find is not necessarily gone.

1. Confirm the account
Make sure Fortnite is running on the Epic account used for the purchase. If you have multiple accounts, compare the email on the purchase receipt with the account currently signed in. Also check which Epic account is linked to your console or other platform before concluding the item is missing.

- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
2. Check the category and filters
In Locker, open Outfit rather than another item type. Clear any active Sort or Filter settings and apply the change, then look through the results again.
3. Look in Archived
Items you previously archived are hidden from the ordinary Locker view. Check the Archived filter and unarchive the Outfit if it is there.

4. Check purchase history and removal notices
Epic’s cosmetic purchase-history view covers only the last 30 days. In Fortnite, the path is Profile Icon → Settings gear → Account and Privacy → Return or Cancel Purchase. The web route starts at the Fortnite Item Shop after you sign in. A history entry can help confirm a recent purchase, but the view does not cover older purchases.
If Fortnite notified you that an item or V-Bucks were removed, a refund or payment reversal may be the reason. A gift sender’s refund or reversal can also affect a gifted item. For a purchase made through a third-party seller, such as a console storefront, Epic directs players to that seller or platform for support.

Can you move a skin to another Fortnite account?
No. Fortnite items remain on the account where they were purchased, earned, or claimed, and Epic does not allow players to manually transfer them between Fortnite accounts. If the item appears to be on the wrong account, verify the account linked to your platform and the account associated with the purchase receipt.

Epic describes two options for eligible V-Bucks Item Shop purchases. Eligibility depends on the purchase, elapsed time, whether the item has been used or equipped, ticket availability, and exclusions; neither route guarantees that every purchase can be returned.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

| Option | Timing | Key conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel Purchase | Within 24 hours of an eligible purchase | The item must not have been used or equipped in any game mode. |
| Return Ticket | For an eligible Item Shop purchase made within the last 30 days | A ticket must be available, and exclusions apply. Returning a bundle means returning the entire bundle. |
Epic says accounts start with three Return Tickets, receive one new ticket every 365 days while below the maximum, and can hold up to three. Using a ticket removes the item and returns V-Bucks. The in-game path listed on Epic’s current support page is Player Icon → Hamburger menu → Support and Refunds → Return or cancel purchase.
