If you’re asking “How do I access photos on Samsung Cloud?”, first check whether you mean a Samsung Cloud device backup or photos that were synced from Gallery to OneDrive. Samsung says Gallery photos and videos cannot be backed up to Samsung Cloud. The Gallery-to-OneDrive sync service ended on September 30, 2026, but files previously synced remain accessible in OneDrive.
First, identify where the photos are stored
- Previously synced from Gallery: Look in the OneDrive account that was linked to Gallery. Samsung’s US support says existing synced files remain in OneDrive after the Gallery sync service ended. Samsung’s instructions for downloading or deleting previously synced photos explain the current retrieval route.
- Still on your phone or tablet: Open Gallery and check the device’s albums. A local Gallery item is not necessarily a cloud copy.
- Samsung Cloud device backup: On a Galaxy phone or tablet, open Settings, tap your Samsung account name, then tap Samsung Cloud. Samsung lists device backup and restore features there, but says photos and videos cannot be backed up to Samsung Cloud. If the menu is missing, search Settings for “Samsung Cloud”; labels and availability can vary by device and software version.
Samsung’s US guidance says the Gallery sync feature is no longer available in Gallery following its September 30, 2026 end date. Previously synced files remain in OneDrive; new Gallery photos will not continue syncing through that discontinued feature.

Download previously synced photos from OneDrive
On a Galaxy phone or tablet
- Open the OneDrive app and sign in to the account that was linked to Gallery.
- Look in the app’s Gallery or Photos tab, if available, or browse to the folder where the files are stored. The tab name can vary.
- Select a photo or video and tap Download. Samsung says the downloaded item can then be found in Gallery with the other device photos.
On a computer
- Sign in to OneDrive in a web browser using the account that contains the synced files.
- Select the photos or folders you want and choose Download.
- If you select multiple items, OneDrive may download them as a ZIP archive.
For multiple files downloaded to a phone or tablet, Samsung cautions that only items that fit in the device’s available storage will be saved. Check free space first, then confirm the downloaded files are present before deleting or removing cloud copies.

Restore a deleted photo
Samsung’s current US support page says deleted Gallery files remain in the OneDrive Recycle bin for 93 days, subject to the service’s current policy. In the OneDrive mobile app, open the profile menu, choose Recycle bin, open the item’s options, and choose Restore. Samsung also says you can recover items through the OneDrive website.

Set up automatic backup for new photos
The ended Gallery sync integration will not resume when you download old files. Samsung’s regional guidance identifies OneDrive Camera backup and Google Photos backup as separate options for continuing automatic photo backup. Set up your chosen service separately, then check which account and folders it backs up. Menus, eligibility, and availability can vary by country, carrier, and software version.
