The Make-A-Wish quest is Kyle’s Gone Missing!, a Horde quest in Mulgore. Find Ahab Wheathoof in Bloodhoof Village, collect Tender Strider Meat from a strider east of town, feed it to Kyle when he is nearby, then return to Ahab.
Where to find Kyle’s Gone Missing!
Travel to Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore and speak with Ahab Wheathoof. He offers the quest and is also the NPC you return to when it is complete. The quest is associated with Horde-side Mulgore content; availability and details can differ among World of Warcraft versions. Wowhead’s quest listing provides the standard quest reference.

How to complete the quest
- Accept “Kyle’s Gone Missing!” from Ahab Wheathoof. He is in Bloodhoof Village.
- Hunt a strider east of the village. The quest requires Tender Strider Meat, which drops from striders in that area.
- Return to the village and locate Kyle. Kyle wanders around town, so you may need to wait or follow him.
- Put down the meat when Kyle is nearby. The quest text says, “When you see Kyle in town, put the meat down and he is sure to come to you.”
- Speak with Ahab again. After Kyle eats, return to Ahab to finish the quest.
The meat is an in-game quest item; you do not need to buy a physical item or make a separate charity donation to complete the objective.
Level requirements and rewards depend on the WoW version
There is no single level requirement or reward value that applies to every version. Wowhead’s Cataclysm Classic listing identifies a level 5 requirement and Horde faction, while other listings show different level information. A report about the WoW Forever beta also says level 5 is required, but that beta detail should not be treated as a rule for other editions. Check the listing for your version or confirm the requirement in your in-game quest journal. Rewards can also vary or be incompletely listed, so rely on the current client display for exact experience, currency, or reputation.

Why players call it the Make-A-Wish quest
The quest is remembered for its connection to Ezra Chatterton, a Make-A-Wish participant associated with its creation and with voicing Ahab Wheathoof. In reporting on WoW Forever, principal game designer Johnny Cash said, “I had the honor and privilege of bringing ‘Kyle’s Gone Missing!’ into WoW: Forever.” GamesRadar+ covered the WoW Forever project.
The quest should not be confused with separate Blizzard charity promotions. For example, Blizzard announced a charity campaign involving the Dottie pet in 2019; that was a different promotion, not a requirement for this quest or evidence of a current offer. Blizzard’s 2019 Dottie announcement describes that campaign.
