As of October 3, 2026, the official Epic sources covered here do not verify an active free Fortnite Sidekick offer. Two earlier routes were Peels in the November 1, 2025 Battle Pass and a Bonesy grant for players who already owned the Bonesy Back Bling, scheduled for November 7, 2025. Check Fortnite and Epic’s official channels for current offers; use the steps below to find Sidekick quests and customize a Sidekick you already have.
Which Fortnite Sidekick rewards were free?
Epic’s Sidekick announcement described two historical routes. Peels was set to unlock through the Battle Pass on November 1, 2025; the announcement does not establish that Peels can be claimed for free now. Players who already owned the Bonesy Back Bling were to receive the Bonesy Sidekick on November 7, 2025. Epic said the grant might take time to appear in the Locker, a point also covered in its Bonesy support article.

These dates describe past offers, not a current claim window. Epic’s general advice on getting free Fortnite items mentions in-game challenges, free Battle Pass content, and securing an account with two-factor authentication (2FA). It does not confirm a Sidekick-specific reward available today.

How to find Sidekick quests
Use either route in Fortnite:
- Open the Quests tab and select the Sidekicks or paw entry on the left. Choose a Sidekick to see its available quests.
- Alternatively, open Locker > Sidekicks, select a Sidekick, open its three-dot or edit menu, then choose Go to Quest.
Epic notes that a Sidekick may disappear from the quest page after all of its quests are complete. The routes and behavior are documented in Epic’s Sidekick quest support article.

How to customize a Sidekick you own
- Go to Locker > Sidekicks and select the Sidekick.
- Choose from the available appearance options, then select NEXT STEP.
- Review the appearance. When you are sure, hold LOCK-IN, set a name, and finish customization.
Epic says the appearance is permanently locked after confirmation, and some Sidekicks cannot be customized. Review your choices before locking them in. See Epic’s customization instructions.

How to check an offer and avoid fake claims
- Look for free-item announcements on Epic Games Store or Epic’s official websites and social channels, as advised in its free-item guidance.
- Check the in-game Quests and Battle Pass screens for the offer’s actual terms, eligibility, and deadline. A general promise of free rewards is not proof that a particular Sidekick is included.
- Do not enter your Epic account credentials on third-party sites promising a free Sidekick or free V-Bucks. Epic warns against suspicious outside offers and says Support will not grant missed seasonal items on request.
