Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War began as a PlayStation 2 game, but an official PC route is now listed on Steam as a version tied to Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. Because Steam still describes it as a preorder offer even though the listed October 1, 2026 release date has passed, check the current listing and your account’s entitlement before buying: it is not established that every new purchase includes Zero or that Zero can be bought on its own.
Check the official Steam option before buying
The official PC route surfaced for Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War is its Steam version, offered with Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. The publisher announced the inclusion as a preorder offer, and the Steam listing describes Zero as a separately launched DLC executable. Steam also says Ace Combat 8 must be installed to use DLC. The listing examined still uses preorder wording despite showing an October 1, 2026 release date. That leaves two purchase details unsettled: whether a post-launch purchase of Ace Combat 8 grants Zero, and whether Zero is available separately. Do not assume either. Check the offer terms on your regional Steam store page and confirm the Zero entitlement is shown for your account before completing a purchase. Steam listing.

Check language support
The Steam listing names Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish support for the Zero Steam version. It cautions that supported languages may differ from those for Ace Combat 8, so check the language details for the specific DLC rather than assuming they match the base game. Steam listing.

Consider the original PS2 release
Bandai Namco identifies Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War as a PlayStation 2 game released on March 23, 2006. A used PS2 copy is therefore a straightforward option if you have compatible hardware. Before purchasing, verify the disc’s condition and region and make sure your console can use that region’s game. In some European regions, Bandai Namco uses the title form Ace Combat: The Belkan War. For someone with a legitimate copy, PCSX2 documents the North American release, serial SLUS-21346, as “Playable.” This indicates that the emulator’s compatibility database lists that edition in a playable category; it does not confirm that every regional version behaves the same way, provide the game image, or establish that obtaining game or BIOS files from a particular source is lawful.
