There is no single proven fastest Riven farm. The reliable routes are the active Sortie reward table, the randomized Steel Path Circuit reward pools, and Palladino’s Riven Sliver exchanges. Additional Riven-type rewards have appeared in Archon Hunts, Nihil’s Oubliette, and Acrithis or Palladino offerings. Once you obtain a Riven, you must equip it to reveal its challenge, complete that challenge to unveil its stats, and then spend Kuva to cycle those stats. Update 44.1.0 also adds Riven Splicing: Riven Splicers come exclusively from The Icebind and let you combine compatible traits, but splicing does not create a fresh Riven Mod.
Where Riven Mods come from
“Farming Rivens” covers several different goals, and choosing the wrong activity wastes time. A full Riven Mod is an acquisition reward. A Riven Sliver is a fragment that can be accumulated for a vendor exchange. A Riven Splicer is a material for combining traits on Rivens you already own. Kuva cycling changes the stats of an unveiled Riven; it does not award another Riven.

| Route | Progression or availability | What it can provide | Reward structure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sorties | Run the active Sortie from Navigation | Riven Mod among the reward-table entries | Reward table; inspect the current table rather than assuming a rate |
| Steel Path Circuit | Requires access to Steel Path | Riven Mods and Riven Slivers | Randomized pools that vary by tier and weekly path; not a guaranteed drop per completion |
| Palladino’s Sliver exchange | Accumulate Riven Slivers and visit the vendor when her offerings are available | Riven-related offerings, potentially including a full or veiled Riven and Kuva bundles | Vendor stock, prices and limits can change; read the current in-game menu |
| Other documented sources | Eligibility and access vary | Archon Hunts, Nihil’s Oubliette, and Acrithis or Palladino guaranteed offerings have been named in official reward notes | Date-specific documentation; current requirements and rates need confirmation in the game or current official tables |
| The Icebind | Use content that awards Riven Splicers | Riven Splicers for trait combination | Material acquisition, not a direct Riven Mod drop |
The distinctions matter: a Circuit run can put a Sliver in its pool when you want a complete Mod, and Kuva can improve an existing Mod when what you actually need is a new acquisition. Plan around the item named in the reward screen.

How the Sortie route works
Digital Extremes’ original Sortie notes listed a Riven Mod among Sortie rewards and described Rivens as a common reward at that time. The later Update 35.1.0 Riven reward notes also discuss the Sortie table. In practical terms, you run the active Sortie set and then receive one result from its reward table; a Riven is an opportunity in that table, not an item you can force by repeating one particular mission.
#1 Best Overall
The original documentation is historical, so it does not establish the live October 2026 probability. Check the reward information shown in your current game client and any current official drop table before making a schedule or calculating expected returns.
Why Sorties suit players building toward Steel Path
- They are a documented Riven route that does not depend on Steel Path Circuit access.
- The reward is a full Riven-type result rather than a fragment exchange, when the table selects one.
- You can treat the activity as part of normal progression instead of spending Kuva or Slivers before you have a Mod worth investing in.
A practical Sortie routine
- Open the active Sortie in Navigation and read the listed reward information.
- Confirm that you have enough Riven slots for any Mod you may want to equip later. An unopened challenge Riven does not consume a slot until equipped, but unveiling it will.
- Complete the listed missions using a loadout that satisfies each mission’s restrictions. The reward is determined by the Sortie table, so do not abandon a run expecting a different Riven subtype.
- After the reward arrives, leave an indistinct Riven unopened if your slots are full, or equip it only when you are ready to take on its challenge.
Do not describe Sorties as a guaranteed daily Riven source. They are a recurring chance from a reward table, and the current chance can change when the table is revised.
Steel Path Circuit: randomized Riven and Sliver pools
What the Circuit can award
The official Duviri Paradox update notes place Riven Mods and Riven Slivers in randomized Steel Path Circuit reward pools. The reward available to you depends on the active weekly path and the tier you reach. A Riven entry in a pool is therefore not the same as a guaranteed Riven for completing a named round or tier.
How to decide whether to run it
- Open the Steel Path Circuit reward path before starting and inspect the currently displayed items.
- Identify whether the path contains the item you need: a full Riven, Slivers, or neither.
- Check the tier at which the relevant entry appears and decide whether that tier fits the frames, weapons and time you can commit that week.
- Continue only when the active pool supports your goal. If the pool does not contain a useful Riven-related reward, waiting for another rotation is more rational than assuming every Circuit run will pay out.
What the Circuit does not promise
- It does not guarantee a Riven on a particular completion.
- It does not guarantee a full Mod when the pool entry is a Riven Sliver.
- It does not provide a documented universal “Riven per hour” rate. Completion time, player performance and the weekly pool all vary.
For players who have already opened Steel Path, the Circuit is useful because it can combine Riven hunting with other Circuit rewards. For players still progressing toward Steel Path, it is a future option rather than a reason to delay Sorties or other available activities.
Riven Slivers and Palladino’s offerings
What a Sliver is
A Riven Sliver is a fragment, not a partially unveiled Mod. You accumulate Slivers and exchange them through Palladino’s Riven-related offerings. The official Angels of the Zariman: Hotfix 31.5.2 notes document Slivers as Riven fragments and Palladino offerings. The Old Blood update notes also describe Palladino reforging a complete Riven from enough Slivers.
Use the live vendor screen for the numbers
Palladino’s stock, the Sliver price, the type of Riven offered and any weekly limit are volatile details. An older update documented an additional Veiled Riven and a Kuva bundle as weekly offerings, but that historical listing is not a guarantee of the current stock. Open Palladino’s menu in your current build and read the displayed item, cost and remaining limit before spending Slivers.
When Sliver farming makes sense
- Choose Slivers when your target is a vendor exchange rather than a direct reward-table drop.
- Save enough for the complete offering you actually want; spending fragments on a different item can postpone a Riven exchange.
- Check the reset or availability shown by the vendor, because a weekly listing can change without changing the underlying Sliver system.
- Treat a vendor Riven like any other newly acquired challenge Riven: it may remain indistinct and stackable until equipped.
Other documented Riven sources
Update 35.1.0’s Riven reward notes also name Archon Hunts, Nihil’s Oubliette, and guaranteed offerings associated with Acrithis or Palladino when discussing Riven-type reward adjustments. That establishes them as documented sources in that update, not as a current promise of eligibility, price or drop frequency.
Recommended Free Tools
How to use these routes responsibly
- Confirm that the activity is available on your platform and account before planning around it.
- Read the current reward or vendor panel for the exact Riven subtype, cost and any prerequisite.
- Do not copy an old Sliver requirement or weekly allowance from a guide written for an earlier update.
- If the current official reward table no longer lists the activity, treat the older note as historical rather than as evidence of a live farm.
Historical rates: useful context, not a current guarantee
The 28% Sortie figure
The Update 35.1.0 notes published a 28% overall Sortie chance for a Riven. That is a dated update figure from 2024, not a freshly verified October 2026 rate. Use it to understand the scale of the documented example, not to predict how many Sorties you need today. The live reward table can be changed by a later update.
Historical weights for guaranteed offerings
The same notes listed these Riven-type weights for the guaranteed offerings discussed in that update:
Rank #2
| Riven type | Published weight in Update 35.1.0 | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Kitgun | 3.5% | Historical weight for that update’s guaranteed-offering table |
| Zaw | 3.5% | Historical weight for that update’s guaranteed-offering table |
| Shotgun | 8% | Historical weight for that update’s guaranteed-offering table |
| Rifle | 25% | Historical weight for that update’s guaranteed-offering table |
| Pistol | 25% | Historical weight for that update’s guaranteed-offering table |
| Melee | 35% | Historical weight for that update’s guaranteed-offering table |
No current time-per-Riven, runs-per-Riven or expected-value study is established here. Because there is no comparable current completion-time and probability data, a claim that one route is objectively the fastest would be speculation.
What happens after you obtain a Riven
1. Keep the new item indistinct until you are ready
Veilbreaker: Update 32 describes newly obtained reward or vendor Rivens as “???” or indistinct items. They can be stackable and do not use a Riven slot while they remain unequipped. This lets you hold a challenge reward while your slot count is tight.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →2. Equip it to reveal the challenge
Equipping the Riven reveals its challenge and makes it count toward your Riven slot cap. Check your available slots first. If equipping it would exceed the cap, make space before trying to begin the challenge.
3. Complete the challenge to unveil the Mod
The challenge is the gate between acquisition and usable stats. Complete the objective exactly as written in the Mod’s challenge panel. Once it is completed, the Riven becomes unveiled and its weapon category and stats are revealed.
4. Decide whether the unveiled result is worth keeping
- Keep it if the weapon, trait combination and values fit a build you intend to use.
- Reserve a slot and resources only after checking the unveiled result; an indistinct item tells you nothing about its final stats.
- Do not confuse unveiling with cycling. Unveiling reveals the original roll; cycling changes an already unveiled roll.
Kuva cycling: rerolling an owned Riven
What cycling changes
An unveiled Riven can be cycled with Kuva. Cycling is a random-stat reroll process: the game replaces the current stat roll with another result according to its Riven rules. It is not a second acquisition route, and no individual attempt guarantees a particular weapon combination, positive stat or negative stat.
A safe cycling workflow
- Unveil the Riven and record the current stats before spending resources.
- Decide what outcome would actually improve your build. A reroll that looks stronger numerically may be worse for the weapon’s attack pattern or faction use.
- Use the in-game Cycle or Reroll command for that unveiled Riven and confirm the Kuva cost shown by the current interface.
- Compare the new result with the previous one and keep the version that serves your build. Do not expect the next attempt to correct a specific weakness.
Because cycling is random, farming more Kuva can give you more attempts but cannot turn it into a predictable Riven farm. If you do not yet own a Riven worth improving, return to an acquisition route instead.
Riven Splicing in Update 44.1.0
Where Riven Splicers come from
Update 44.1.0: Iceblade of Narin: The Icebind adds Riven Splicing and states that Riven Splicers are obtained exclusively from The Icebind. The exact live rotation and quantity of Splicers were not established in the update material available here, so read The Icebind’s current reward screen for those details.
How the menu works
- Open the Riven Splicing menu after acquiring a Riven Splicer.
- Select owned Rivens and inspect the compatible trait pairs the menu identifies.
- Review the possible spliced trait outcomes. If more than one outcome is available, choose the one presented by the menu that best fits your goal.
- Confirm only after checking the selected pair and result; the combination consumes the required inputs according to the live interface.
Digital Extremes summarizes the benefit this way: “This means you’ll always know what spliced trait you’re about to receive before you make a decision.” — Update 44.1.0: Iceblade of Narin: The Icebind.
What Splicing is—and is not
- It is a controlled way to combine two compatible existing traits into a new trait.
- It is not a method for generating a brand-new Riven Mod from nothing.
- It does not replace Sorties, the Steel Path Circuit or Sliver exchanges when your goal is acquisition.
Choosing a route by progression stage
If you have broad star-chart access but not Steel Path
Make Sorties your documented repeatable opportunity and monitor any currently available vendor or guaranteed offering. Keep newly acquired challenge Rivens unopened until you have slots and time to unveil them. You do not need to postpone Riven collecting until Steel Path is unlocked.
Rank #3
If Steel Path is unlocked
Check the active Circuit path first. Run it when the randomized pool contains the full Riven or Slivers you need and the required tier is practical for your loadout. Continue using Sorties as a separate reward-table chance; the two routes have different structures and should not be treated as interchangeable guarantees.
If you already have several Rivens
Stop calling every resource run a Riven farm. Acquire Kuva when the objective is to cycle an unveiled Mod, and pursue The Icebind when the objective is to obtain Riven Splicers. Keep acquisition, rerolling and splicing as separate resource plans.
If your slots are nearly full
- Count open Riven slots before equipping a challenge item.
- Leave indistinct rewards unequipped when the game allows them to remain outside the slot count.
- Unveil or sell only after deciding which existing Rivens are worth retaining; do not equip first and discover the capacity problem afterward.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Expecting a guaranteed Circuit Riven
The Circuit’s Riven entries are placed in randomized pools. Inspect the weekly path and tier rather than assuming a completion pays a Mod.
Treating Slivers as full Mods
Slivers are fragments for Palladino’s offerings. They are valuable toward an exchange, but they are not an unveiled or veiled Riven in your inventory.
Equipping before checking slots
An indistinct, stackable reward does not use a Riven slot while unequipped. Equipping it reveals the challenge and makes it count, so check capacity first.

Kuva cycling rerolls the stats of an unveiled Riven you already own. It cannot substitute for a Sortie, Circuit or vendor acquisition.
Using ordinary Mod transmutation as a Riven source
Warframe’s general Mod transmutation system is documented separately in the Mod Guide. That support article does not establish four ordinary Mods as a Riven acquisition method, so do not spend valuable Mods expecting a Riven result.
Copying an old number into a new build
The 28% Sortie example and the type weights above belong to Update 35.1.0. Vendor prices, weekly limits, reward pools and rates can change. Use the current in-game UI or a current official drop table whenever an exact number affects your decision.
A compact decision checklist
- Define the objective: obtain a new Riven, collect Slivers, reroll an unveiled Mod, or splice compatible traits.
- Choose the route that produces that item: Sortie, active Steel Path Circuit pool, Palladino exchange, Kuva cycling or The Icebind.
- Read the current reward or vendor screen for the live pool, price, limit and tier.
- Protect your slot capacity before equipping any challenge Riven.
- Unveil by completing the displayed challenge, then evaluate the revealed stats.
- Spend Kuva only when a reroll serves a specific build, and use Splicers only when the menu shows a compatible trait combination you want.
This approach keeps the three systems separate: acquisition gives you Rivens or fragments, unveiling turns a challenge item into a usable Mod, and cycling or splicing changes an existing Mod rather than replacing the acquisition step.
