The efficient route depends on the grade you need. Farm Chaotic Reshanta field bosses for Refining, Expert’s and Artisan’s stones; use Conquest runs only as a secondary source; and treat Artisan’s Ultimate as a limited-reward resource from Arena chests, the Season Shop and achievements. Ordinary mobs have reported drop rates too low to justify dedicated grinding.
Start with the stone tier and recipe
Aion 2 uses four Refining Stone grades, each associated with a matching crafted-gear grade. Confirm the recipe before choosing an activity, because a route that is sensible for common stones may be useless for Artisan’s Ultimate.

The recipe ranges come from the Elite Grind Lab guide. Your actual requirement depends on the specific item, its grade and whether the recipe uses professional crafting tools, so read the in-game recipe rather than farming to a generic stockpile target.
For planning, write down the exact number shown in the recipe and separate the four grades in your storage. A Dragon Lord craft can require anywhere from one to six Ultimate stones according to the listed range, while Artisan’s recipes can vary from two to 15 when professional tools are involved. A single mixed stockpile can therefore look large but still leave you short of the one grade that matters.

Best repeatable source for the first three grades: Chaotic Reshanta bosses
For Refining, Expert’s and Artisan’s stones, the strongest repeatable route reported by the current guides is field-boss farming in Chaotic Reshanta. The most specific example is Watcher Kaira in Chaotic Lower Reshanta.

These are guide-reported averages, not an official guaranteed loot table. Elite Grind Lab says it checked the Global launch client 2.0.5.0 on October 9, 2026. Raid Relay published a separate route guide on October 11 and reports checking Global client version 27. The different version labels are a reason to verify the boss, timer and loot in your own client.
The averages are useful for comparing activities, not for promising a fixed payout. A kill may produce a different combination, and your practical rate will also depend on travel, group formation, failed attempts and time spent waiting. If a group can secure several bosses during one route, compare the total stones and total elapsed time rather than judging one kill in isolation.
How to run the boss route
- Open the world map and confirm that Chaotic Lower Reshanta is available to your character. If the zone, flight path or event prerequisite is locked, do not spend hours searching for a boss you cannot yet access.
- Check the local spawn announcement, map marker or community schedule before traveling. A three-hour respawn means arriving immediately after a kill can produce a long wait.
- Join a group or organized channel when possible. Field bosses are contested content, and a solo attempt can fail because of damage, survivability or tagging rules even when the boss is technically reachable.
- Record the kill time. Add three hours as a planning estimate, then verify the next spawn in game rather than assuming the timer is exact.
- Loot and inspect the reward immediately. Keep separate counts for the three grades so you do not mistake an Artisan’s drop for the Ultimate grade needed by a Dragon Lord recipe.
Boss farming is most efficient when you combine it with other activities in the same region. If the next spawn is not imminent, return to crafting preparation, Conquest or your normal progression rather than idling at the spawn point. A schedule that includes travel and waiting is more realistic than multiplying the listed per-kill average by an idealized number of kills.
Why ordinary mob grinding feels like it gives nothing
Ordinary field mobs can drop the first three grades, but the reported probabilities are very low. Elite Grind Lab lists 0.65% for Refining Stone, 0.16% for Expert’s and 0.04% for Artisan’s. Those figures are unofficial estimates from its October 9, 2026 Global-client check, not audited rates from the developer.

The reciprocal figures are only a way to understand scale. They do not promise a drop after that number of kills, and random rolls can produce several stones quickly or none over a much longer sample. A level-30 player on Reddit described not seeing Expert’s stones from expeditions or mobs; that anecdote is consistent with a low-rate system, but it is not evidence of a universal drop rule.

When mobs are still worth killing
- Kill them while completing quests, gathering materials or traveling through content you already need to clear.
- Use them as a fallback when you lack access to Chaotic Reshanta.
- Stop a dedicated mob session when the opportunity cost exceeds the value of the drops; switch to a boss schedule, Conquest or progression.
Do not interpret a dry streak as proof that your character is bugged. At 0.04%, even a large number of Artisan’s rolls can produce no drop, and the published percentages themselves may change with a patch or regional client. Record a meaningful sample only if you are testing the current client, and still treat the result as an observation rather than an official table.

Conquest runs can provide stones, but the cited guide characterizes them as a by-product of broader rewards rather than a dedicated Refining Stone farm.

If you are still leveling or cannot enter Chaotic Reshanta, Conquest is a sensible use of available stamina and time because it advances other goals while adding a small stone supply. Once boss access is available, compare the full reward value and queue time rather than assuming every Conquest run beats a boss kill.
The reported 0.2 Expert’s stones per Conquest run is an average, so it should be read as one stone about every five runs over a sufficiently large sample, not as a guaranteed fifth-run reward. The same caution applies to the roughly two common stones: individual runs can be above or below that figure. Expeditions, Sanctuary and festival activities appear in community source listings, but those categories do not establish an efficiency ranking.
Artisan’s Ultimate requires a different plan
The most important distinction is that the guide reports no field monster dropping Artisan’s Ultimate Refining Stone. That removes ordinary mobs and Chaotic Reshanta bosses as a dependable Ultimate strategy. Concentrate on the finite or capped reward systems instead.

The reported Arena chest is bound, costs one Arena Token and is limited to 10 chests per character each week. Elite Grind Lab gives the chest a 2% chance to contain a 10-stone Ultimate bundle. At that stated rate, opening all 10 weekly chests averages two Ultimate stones per character, although an individual week can produce zero or more than the average.

- Check that you have enough Arena Tokens before the weekly reset.
- Open up to the 10-character-weekly limit if Ultimate stones are your priority.
- Do not treat the average as a guarantee; the 2% figure is a guide estimate and may change with the client.
- Because the chest is bound, confirm that bound materials are accepted by your intended recipe before spending tokens.
At a 2% per-chest estimate, the expected value is 0.2 Ultimate stones per chest because the successful chest contains 10. Ten attempts therefore average two stones. That does not mean every ten attempts produce a success: the chance of seeing at least one successful chest in ten independent attempts is only about 18.3%, so several empty weekly cycles are plausible.
Season Shop stock
The same guide reports a stock of 10 Artisan’s Ultimate stones per account at 4,800 Oath Coins each, listed as available through December 16, 2026. This is an account-wide cap, not a weekly allowance. Buying all 10 would require 48,000 Oath Coins. The date and inventory are especially volatile, so check the live Season Shop before reserving coins or assuming the offer remains.
For a player who can afford the currency, the shop is a predictable top-up compared with Arena’s random chest. It is not an unlimited farm: once the account stock is exhausted, more Oath Coins cannot buy additional copies through that listing. Confirm whether the stones are bound, which character receives them and whether the shop limit is shared across the account before purchasing.
Achievement rewards
Reported one-time achievement rewards provide a finite reserve of bound stones: 54 Refining, 49 Expert’s, 45 Artisan’s and 20 Artisan’s Ultimate. Claim these as progression milestones, not as a repeatable route. If an achievement is close, completing it can be more efficient than arranging a separate farm; once the reward is claimed, it cannot be repeated for another copy.
These totals are useful when calculating a deficit. For example, subtract any unclaimed Ultimate achievement rewards from the exact number on your recipe before deciding how many Arena attempts or Season Shop purchases you need. Do the same separately for common, Expert’s and Artisan’s stones; one grade cannot substitute for another.
Bound stones can still be used in recipes
Elite Grind Lab states that bound copies work in recipes in the same way as unbound copies. That makes Arena and achievement rewards useful even if they cannot be traded. Before committing a scarce bound stone, open the exact item recipe or tooltip and confirm that the required slot accepts it. Binding rules can be item-specific, and the cost of discovering an exception is high when Ultimate stones are capped.

Binding also affects logistics. A bound reward may not be transferable to another character or usable for a different account, even when it is valid for the character who claimed it. Spend bound stones only after checking the crafting character, the exact recipe and the number of copies still required.

A practical farming plan by progression stage
If you are below Chaotic Reshanta access
- Read the recipe and identify the exact grade before spending time on drops.
- Complete expeditions and Conquest for their main rewards, accepting occasional stones.
- Claim available achievement rewards, especially if they provide the grade you need.
- Do not measure your luck against a short mob sample; the reported Expert’s and Artisan’s rates are low enough for long dry streaks.
If you can enter Chaotic Lower Reshanta
- Build your schedule around Watcher Kaira and other listed field bosses.
- Use the three-hour timer as a planning window, not a guaranteed spawn timestamp.
- Stay in the area only when the expected kill is close; otherwise complete Conquest, crafting or progression.
- Track stones per kill and your personal travel or waiting time so you can compare the route with your group’s actual results.
If your recipe needs Artisan’s Ultimate
- Reserve Arena Tokens for the bound chest and use the weekly 10-per-character allowance.
- Check the Season Shop’s current stock, price and expiration date before converting Oath Coins.
- Review unfinished achievements that award Ultimate stones.
- Confirm bound-material eligibility in the recipe before opening chests or claiming rewards.
- Plan the remaining deficit from the recipe’s stated 1–6 stone requirement rather than assuming every Dragon Lord craft costs the same amount.
Keep a small tracking note with the recipe target, current inventory, unclaimed achievement totals, Arena chests opened and Oath Coins spent. This prevents a common mistake: buying the full Season Shop stock when a recipe needs only one or two more stones, or exhausting Arena Tokens before confirming that a bound copy is accepted.

No route is universally best. Bosses dominate the repeatable first-three-tier comparison when you have access and a reliable group. Conquest can be superior for a character that still needs its broader rewards, while Arena, the Season Shop and achievements are the relevant choices for Ultimate stones because field monsters are not reported as a source.
Why your results may differ
- Client version: the published guides reference different Global-client version labels, so loot tables and shop inventories may have changed.
- Access level: a level-30 character may not yet have the zones, activities or boss participation needed for higher-tier stones.
- Sample size: a few expeditions or several hundred mobs cannot prove that a low-probability drop is absent.
- Group contribution: tagging, loot eligibility and party rules can affect what appears after a field-boss kill.
- Recipe variation: Artisan’s and Dragon Lord recipes have ranges, and professional crafting tools can change the required count.
- Reward binding: a bound stone may be usable in crafting but unavailable for trading or another character, so verify the tooltip first.
- Reset timing: Arena limits are per character and weekly, while the Season Shop quantity is reported per account. Confusing those scopes can waste tokens or currency.
Verify the live client before committing resources
The numerical claims above come from unofficial guides, not an official published drop table. Elite Grind Lab says its figures were updated October 9, 2026 after checking Global launch client 2.0.5.0; Raid Relay’s guide was updated October 11, 2026 and references Global client version 27. Community databases such as Wikily.gg list broad source categories including monsters, Expeditions, Sanctuary and festival content, but do not establish which route is most efficient.
Before spending Arena Tokens or Oath Coins, inspect the current in-game chest description, Season Shop stock, recipe tooltip and boss loot. Treat the reported rates and expiration date as planning estimates that require confirmation after patches, seasonal resets or regional client changes.
