In Aion 2, the efficient way to farm diamonds is to gather Diamond Gemstone from Gem nodes, not to farm the game’s Kina currency. Diamond Gemstone has a mastery requirement of level 1 and can produce four listed grades: Diamond Gemstone, Fine Diamond Gemstone, Pure Diamond Gemstone, and Radiant Diamond Gemstone. Build a short loop in the region available to your faction, follow a current Diamond map filter, and verify every marker in the live client because community maps show different counts and shared nodes may already be occupied.
The practical method is simple: identify the recipe or sale goal first, choose a dense cluster, record how many nodes are actually present, and repeat the loop long enough to compare useful grades gathered per minute. No published source establishes a guaranteed yield, a universal best route, or a verified respawn interval, so the most efficient route is the one that performs best on your server and at your usual play time.

What the diamond item is—and what it is not
Diamond Gemstone is a gathering material used in Aion 2 crafting. It is separate from the game’s currency. A global-client guide spells the currency Kina, while other guides use Kinah; both terms refer to currency, not to the gemstone node or its drops. The four listed results
The AION 2 gatherables database classifies Diamond as a Gem node, lists mastery level 1, and names four outcomes. The database does not publish a drop-rate table or say that a higher grade is guaranteed. Treat the grades as possible results rather than a fixed sequence or promised upgrade.

Where to farm Diamond Gemstone
Use the region your character can actually reach, then select a cluster rather than riding between isolated pins. Two 2026 community maps provide useful planning data but disagree on Verteron and cover different scopes. Their numbers are mapped markers, not a verified count of live nodes in the game world.

The 36-marker difference for Verteron is why neither figure should be presented as the authoritative in-game total. A marker can be stale, duplicated by a map’s counting method, outside your accessible area, or unavailable when you arrive because another player has gathered it. Use the maps to choose a starting zone and route shape, then trust what you can see and gather in the client.
Choosing between Verteron and Altgard
- Choose faction access first. Start with the region your character can enter without a long detour or an unsafe crossing. A theoretically denser region is not efficient if travel time prevents you from gathering.
- Choose density second. On the selected map, zoom into clusters with several nearby Diamond markers. A compact loop usually gives more gathering attempts per minute than a route that touches every distant pin.
- Choose terrain and travel time third. Prefer a loop with few loading transitions, steep detours, or dead ends. You are measuring time spent gathering, not the number of pins visible on a website.
Prepare before you leave town
Preparation is mostly about removing interruptions. The database lists mastery level 1, so the published requirement for the Diamond node itself is low. You should still confirm that your character can reach the chosen region and has enough inventory space to complete a test loop.

- Open one of the current Diamond maps and enable only Diamond or Gemstone markers where the interface permits filtering.
- Pick a loop with a clear beginning and end. Screenshot or note the marker order so you can repeat it without stopping to plan at every intersection.
- Empty enough inventory slots for several gathering passes. If you are collecting multiple grades, reserve space for each grade and for unrelated drops.
- Write down your purpose: a specific handicrafting recipe, a target grade, or a market sale. The correct keep/sell decision depends on that purpose.
- Start a timer when you reach the first planned node and stop it when you return to that point. Include travel, combat interruptions, inventory sorting, and waiting in the measured time.
Diamond Gemstone is documented as a material for handicrafting accessories in an item database. Confirm the exact grade and quantity in your recipe before discarding anything. See the Diamond Gemstone material entry.
How to run an efficient Diamond loop
- Select your region and starting point. Open the current map, choose Verteron or Altgard according to faction access, and select a cluster with enough nearby markers to form a circuit.
- Record the route order. Number the pins in travel order. Avoid crossing the same ground twice unless the terrain makes a return unavoidable.
- Verify the first marker in game. Look for the actual Gem node rather than assuming that a map pin guarantees a spawn. If the node is absent, mark it as unavailable and continue; do not spend several minutes searching an uncertain pin.
- Gather every available Diamond node. Confirm that the interaction is the Gem gathering action and note the grade received. Do not count a pin as a successful node merely because it appears on the website.
- Handle interruptions consistently. If combat, a full inventory, or another player using the node stops the attempt, record the interruption and move on. Consistent recording makes two route tests comparable.
- Complete the circuit. Return to your starting point or to the final marker you can identify reliably. Keep the same route order for at least two or three passes before changing it.
- Calculate your own result. Divide each useful grade gathered by total minutes, and also record nodes actually present. A route with fewer pins can win if it has fewer missing nodes and less travel.
- Adjust one variable at a time. Test a different cluster, time of day, or map source separately. Changing all three at once makes it impossible to identify what improved the result.
A simple route log

After several passes, compare useful grades per minute rather than pins per map. This avoids mistaking a large community dataset for a guaranteed farming yield.
How to use the four grades for crafting
When crafting is the objective, read the accessory recipe before deciding what to keep. Store each grade separately and reserve the exact quantity required by the recipe. The fact that a node can return four grades does not establish that one grade substitutes for another, so do not convert, discard, or sell a higher grade until the recipe or item description confirms its role.
Crafting checklist
- Open the handicrafting accessory recipe you intend to make.
- Write down the required grade and quantity, including any separate requirements for Fine, Pure, or Radiant materials.
- Set aside that quantity before listing surplus materials.
- Keep a small buffer if you plan to craft repeatedly, because the available grade mix can vary between loops.
- Only after the buffer is protected should you sell or trade excess Diamond Gemstone.
The database identifies Diamond Gemstone as a handicrafting material, but it does not establish a universal best recipe or a fixed amount of profit from crafting. Your recipe level, server demand, and material prices determine whether crafting or direct selling is preferable.

How to sell diamonds without assuming a profit
If you are farming to sell, check the Market on your own server immediately before listing. Prices are volatile, and a displayed listing is not the same as a completed sale. AION2 Market says its catalogue was checked against the official Global EU catalogue on 5 October 2026, but it also cautions that its coverage is partial and that the lowest listed prices are not confirmed sales or real-time prices.
Market decision process
- Search the exact grade name, not just Diamond, so base and higher-grade listings are not mixed.
- Check the quantity of active listings and whether the lowest price is attached to a meaningful stack size.
- Compare the price of your grade with the cost of materials required by the accessory recipe you could craft.
- List a small test batch if you do not know demand. Record how long it takes to sell rather than assuming every listing becomes revenue.
- Recheck the market after a route session. A large farming session can increase supply and change the price you saw before leaving.
Do not describe the lowest visible listing as realized income, and do not claim a profit rate without your own sale history. The market catalogue is a reference for decisions, not a guarantee of what your server will pay.
Making the route faster without overclaiming
Optimize travel, not just marker count
A map with 200 markers can be less efficient than a compact route with 20 accessible nodes. Remove pins that require a long climb, a backtrack, or a hazardous detour. If a node is repeatedly absent, move it to a low-priority branch and test the main loop without it.

Separate map quality from live availability
Use both community maps when planning a new region, but do not combine their counts into a single total. Atlas reports 156 Verteron and 200 Altgard markers; AllThingsHow reports 192 Verteron and 200 Altgard mapped locations. The shared Altgard figure does not prove that every one of those markers is live or that the maps use identical boundaries. Treat disagreements as a prompt to verify pins, not as evidence that one publisher is always correct.
Measure at your normal play time
Because shared nodes can be unavailable when you arrive, a route’s performance depends on competition and timing. Run the same loop during the sessions in which you normally play. Record missing nodes rather than silently skipping them; missing-node frequency is part of the route’s real efficiency for you.
Do not invent a respawn schedule
The available sources do not provide a verified Diamond respawn interval. Do not wait for a promised number of minutes or build a rotation around an unverified timer. If you want to test return timing, record when a node was gathered and when it becomes available again on your server, then treat that observation as local evidence rather than a universal rule.

The map shows a pin, but no node is there
Community markers are not a guarantee of current availability. Check nearby terrain once, confirm that you are viewing the correct layer or region, and continue the loop if the node is absent. Record the miss so you can judge whether that pin is worth revisiting.

Shared nodes can be occupied before you arrive. Avoid waiting indefinitely. Move to the next marker, keep the interruption in your log, and compare routes by nodes actually gathered. Testing at a quieter time or using a less popular cluster may improve your personal result without changing the published map.

You are collecting the wrong item
Check the interaction name and item tooltip. Diamond Gemstone is a Gem-node material; Kina/Kinah is currency. If your inventory fills with currency-related rewards but no gemstone, you are following a currency activity rather than a Diamond route.
You cannot craft with the material
Check the recipe’s exact grade. The database lists four Diamond Gemstone results, and a recipe may require one specific grade. Keep grades separated and verify the required quantity before selling or discarding surplus.
The route feels slow despite many markers
Use your log to find the bottleneck: long travel, missing nodes, combat, inventory sorting, or competition. Rebuild the loop around the densest reliable cluster and remove low-value branches. Compare elapsed minutes and nodes gathered, not the map’s total marker count.

You can safely say that a route is efficient for your character when repeated tests show more usable Diamond Gemstones per minute under comparable conditions. You cannot safely claim that it is the best route for every player, that every marker respawns on a fixed schedule, or that a particular grade appears at a guaranteed rate. The available evidence contains no controlled apples-to-apples route study and no demonstrated personal gameplay test.
A defensible personal benchmark includes the region, route, session time, planned markers, nodes present, counts of all four grades, elapsed minutes, and interruptions. Keep those details together so a future map update or market change does not make an old result look universal.
