The Island 2 cash loop is: catch a fish with the Beginner Lure, drop it into the shallow pond behind the fishing spot with R, shoot it with the Shotgun, then sell the carcass. The pond can slow a fish long enough to aim, but this is an unofficial, guide-reported method—not a verified fastest farm, and no reliable cash-per-minute rate is established.
How to run the Island 2 shotgun cash loop
- Buy and prepare the Shotgun. Nerd’s Chalk reports an in-game price of $150 and recommends raising bullet damage to the Island 2 maximum. The guide says its close-range spread suits the pond setup.
- Equip the Beginner Lure. Nerd’s Chalk reports a price of $3 and says it attracts better-value catches than fishing without a lure.
- Cast from the ocean-side grassy inlet. Stand with the shallow inland pond behind you and cast into the ocean.
- Move the catch into the pond. Reel in a fish, turn toward the pond, and press
Rto drop it into the shallow water. - Shoot and sell. Switch to the Shotgun, fire before the fish escapes, then sell the carcass to the vendor and cast again.
Nerd’s Chalk, updated August 26, 2026, says the pond slows fleeing compared with dropping a catch on grass. Active creatures such as piranhas may still thrash, and catches and shot opportunities vary. The guide offers no measured rate or evidence that every fish can be shot reliably.

| Sunfish | About $63 | Example sale value before bonuses. |
| Sunfish with Killscore modifiers | More than $100 is possible | An example reported by the guide, not a standard payout or dependable return. |
The guide describes Killscore bonuses for trick shots, no-scopes, point-blank shots, airborne hits, and last-bullet finishes. It does not give stable multipliers or typical earnings, so treat these as possible bonus conditions rather than a predictable way to optimize each sale. Fish values and the loop’s practical speed can vary; a lucky run is not a sound estimate of normal income.

How the cash farm connects to the Giant Piranha quest
The story progression goal is to trigger and defeat the Giant Piranha, then return its skeleton to the lakeside NPC for Island 3 coordinates. The progression steps reported by Nerd’s Chalk and corroborated by AllThingsHow are:
- Collect three ground leeches.
- Give them to the Lady by the Lake to receive a modified lure.
- Equip the modified lure and reel in to trigger the Giant Piranha fight.
- Defeat the boss and carry its skeleton back to the NPC.
Nerd’s Chalk suggests keeping roughly 500 currency for around 20 sticks of Dynamite as a personal preparation target, not a fixed boss requirement. AllThingsHow says Dynamite is optional for story progression and advises saving for the Shotgun if money is tight. Treat explosives as an optional combat purchase, not an entry requirement.

How certain are the method and prices?
The exact cash loop, prices, fish sale examples, and Killscore effects come from unofficial gaming guides, not a developer-confirmed strategy or economy table. Nerd’s Chalk and AllThingsHow were updated August 26, 2026; the independent How to Fish Wiki’s Island 2 walkthrough reports an August 28, 2026 update. Game mechanics and values can change with patches, so check the current in-game shop and vendor if a reported amount does not match what you see.
The items in this route—the Shotgun, lure, Dynamite, fish, and currency—are virtual game items. The cited method does not establish a need for physical fishing gear or special peripherals.
