How to Extend Battery Life on a TECNO, Infinix, or itel Phone

Start with the screen: lower its brightness and shorten the time before it turns off. Then enable your phone’s power-saving mode, review which apps use power in the background, and switch off connections you are not using. The exact menu names and available features vary by model and software version, so look under Battery, Power, or Phone Manager rather than relying on one universal set of instructions.

Make these changes first

  1. Reduce screen use. Lower brightness to a comfortable level, or use automatic brightness if it suits your surroundings. Shorten the screen timeout or backlight duration so the display turns off sooner when you stop using the phone.
  2. Turn on power saving. Look in the phone’s Battery, Power, or Phone Manager settings for a power-saving mode. The name and available options depend on the model.
  3. Check background app use. Open the battery or power manager and identify apps consuming power when you are not actively using them. Restrict background activity or uninstall apps you do not need, where your phone offers those controls.
  4. Disable connections and syncing you are not using. Switch off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile data, hotspot, location, or auto-sync when you do not need them. The corresponding connection, location feature, or automatic updates will be unavailable until you turn it back on.
  5. Reduce vibration if you do not need it. itel’s support guidance includes reducing vibration among its battery-saving suggestions.

These are settings-based changes, not a guarantee of a particular number of extra hours. The result depends on how you use the phone, its apps and signal conditions, its battery condition, and the model.

For a quick first pass, make the screen adjustments and enable a suitable power-saving mode, then inspect the battery-use view if your phone provides one. Avoid changing every setting at once. A small, targeted adjustment makes it easier to tell what helped and to undo a change that interferes with a feature you rely on.

Reduce the display’s battery use

Lower brightness or use automatic brightness

The display is a practical place to begin because you can make the change immediately and judge whether the screen remains comfortable to read. Reduce brightness until it is as low as you can comfortably use in your current lighting. If you move between bright and dim places, automatic brightness may be more convenient; itel’s support FAQ recommends it where appropriate. You can try either approach and keep the one that works for you.

  • [Deep Bass with Clear Vocals] High-performance drivers produce punchy bass while keeping vocals clean and detailed for everyday listening.

Do not make the screen so dim that you compensate by repeatedly raising it or struggle to read it. The aim is a comfortable setting, not the lowest possible setting at all times. If automatic brightness does not suit your preferences, you can instead set brightness yourself and adjust it when your surroundings change.

Brightness is a useful adjustment to test because it is easy to reverse. If you use the phone outdoors or in a bright room, prioritize visibility and comfort rather than keeping the screen too dim. A practical setting you can leave in place is more useful than an extreme setting you immediately undo.

Shorten screen timeout or backlight duration

Timeout controls how long the screen stays lit after you stop interacting with the phone. Choose a shorter interval that still gives you enough time to read a message or follow an instruction. The label may be “Screen timeout,” “Sleep,” “Backlight duration,” or another model-specific term. If you cannot find it in display settings, search the settings app for “timeout” or check the phone manual.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

itel’s general FAQ recommends shortening the timeout, and the itel S23 manual’s “Energy-saving” section specifically recommends reducing backlight duration. The S23 guidance is for that model; it does not establish that other itel phones use the same label or menu.

Consider how you actually use the phone when choosing an interval. If the screen turns off while you are reading, increase it slightly; if it stays lit long after you put the phone down, shorten it. The goal is to reduce time when the display is on unnecessarily without making ordinary use frustrating.

Find and enable your phone’s power-saving mode

Where to look

Open Settings and look for a Battery, Power, or Phone Manager section. If there is a search box in Settings, try “power saving” or “battery.” On some models, the mode may also be available from the quick settings panel. Labels and paths differ across brands, models, software versions, and regions, so consult the manual for your exact phone if these searches do not locate it.

Power-saving modes are intended to reduce energy use, but their behavior is not identical on every phone. Read the description shown on your device before enabling a mode, especially if you depend on background activity or notifications from particular apps. Choose a standard mode for routine use if that meets your needs; reserve a more restrictive mode for times when extending the remaining charge matters more than having every feature readily available.

If you cannot find a mode, do not assume your phone is missing a basic setting or follow a path copied from a different model. Check the manual for the exact model and software version, or search Settings for the terms above. A branded mode name on one TECNO, Infinix, or itel product page is not a universal name for the same control across that company’s phones.

Brand and model examples are not universal menus

  • itel: its Philippines support FAQ describes a power-saving setting, but includes menu labels that may be legacy or model-specific. Treat it as general guidance, not a path guaranteed to match your phone.
  • TECNO POP 7: TECNO’s Turkish product page lists Battery Lab features called Long Battery Life, Super Power Saving, and Smart Power Saving Scenarios. Those are POP 7 features, not proof that every TECNO phone has the same options.
  • Infinix SMART 7 and SMART 8: Infinix’s product pages describe Power Marathon and Ultra Power Saving features for those particular models. The names and availability should not be assumed for other Infinix phones.

Manufacturer runtime claims attached to a particular product or mode are not a promise of typical results on another phone. Your own usage and the precise model matter, and the available product information does not establish a general amount of extra battery life from enabling these features.

Use the mode description on your own phone to decide whether it suits the situation. If it is too restrictive for everyday use, turn it off and use individual adjustments—such as reducing brightness or limiting a particular app—instead. The best choice is the one that improves your phone’s day-to-day runtime without preventing you from using the functions you need.

Find apps that keep using power

Use the phone’s battery or power manager to see which apps are consuming power. The exact report and controls vary, but the useful question is whether an app is using a surprising amount of battery while you are not actively using it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Open Settings and look for Battery, Power, or Phone Manager.
  2. Open the battery-use or app-usage view, if available, and review the apps shown there.
  3. For an app you rarely use, consider restricting its background activity or removing it if you no longer need it. Use the controls your phone provides and check the app’s role before restricting it.
  4. After making a change, use the phone normally and check whether the drain improves before changing several more app settings.

Do not force-close every app as a routine battery fix. The manufacturer guidance supports reviewing power-intensive or background apps and limiting apps you do not need; it does not recommend indiscriminately closing everything. A targeted change is easier to assess and less likely to disrupt an app you rely on.

Start with what the battery-use screen actually shows rather than restricting apps at random. An app that appears high on the list may be one you use frequently, so consider your own usage before acting. If you rarely open an app and it is using power in the background, the phone may offer a way to limit its activity; if you no longer need it, removal may be an option. Keep in mind that controls differ, and do not assume every model offers the same per-app setting.

After restricting an app, check whether its behavior still suits you. If a feature you depend on no longer works as expected, restore the setting or choose a narrower adjustment. This is why reviewing and changing one app at a time is more useful than applying the same restriction to every app.

Turn off unused connections and syncing

itel’s support FAQ and S23 manual identify unused functions and syncing as things to disable to save battery. The S23 manual specifically names Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, hotspot, and auto-sync. The general itel FAQ also lists mobile data and other unused functions. These are examples of available switches, not a requirement to turn off every connection all the time.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Wi-Fi: turn it off when you do not need a Wi-Fi connection.
  • Bluetooth: switch it off if you are not using a connected device.
  • Location or GPS: disable location when you do not need location-dependent services. Apps that need your location will not have it until you re-enable the feature.
  • Hotspot: turn it off when other devices no longer need to connect through your phone.
  • Mobile data: switch it off when you do not need mobile internet. You will lose mobile-data access until you turn it back on.
  • Auto-sync: disable it if you can accept that supported data will not sync automatically while it is off.

Use the quick settings panel for a convenient temporary change if it has the relevant toggles; otherwise, look in Settings. Be selective: turning off a connection also removes the service it provides, and you may need to turn it back on for navigation, messages, accessories, or internet access.

Think about which service you need before switching anything off. For example, turn off hotspot once other devices no longer need to use your phone’s connection, or turn off Bluetooth when you are not using a connected accessory. If you rely on location-dependent services, leave location available until you are done with them. The itel S23 manual names GPS specifically, while other models may label the control “Location” or use another term.

Auto-sync has a different tradeoff from an individual connection: while it is disabled, supported data will not update automatically. If that delay is inconvenient, leave it on and choose another adjustment. Likewise, disabling mobile data removes mobile internet access until you re-enable it; it is not a good fit when you need that access. These switches are optional ways to reduce use of functions you do not need, not rules that every owner should follow at all times.

Check whether the changes help

Battery use differs with screen time, signal conditions, apps, battery condition, and model. Because the manufacturer recommendations do not establish a broadly applicable percentage or number of extra hours, judge the result on your own phone rather than expecting a fixed improvement.

  1. Check battery use first. If your phone shows a battery-use view, note which apps or functions are consuming power before changing settings.
  2. Change one thing at a time. For example, shorten the timeout and use the phone normally before changing app restrictions and several connections at once. A single change makes the result easier to interpret.
  3. Compare under ordinary use. Look for a meaningful difference in your normal routine, not just a change during an unusually light or heavy day.
  4. Keep useful changes and reverse disruptive ones. If a setting saves little but interferes with a connection, notification, or app you need, restore it and try a more targeted adjustment.
  5. Recheck the battery-use view if drain persists. A prominent app or function may point to a more specific change than switching off unrelated features.

There is no single extra-runtime figure to expect from these steps. The official guidance gives settings recommendations, not a broadly applicable test result. A result on one phone also does not establish what another model will achieve, even within the same brand. Use the battery report if available, and judge changes against your usual pattern rather than a manufacturer claim tied to a particular product.

If the first adjustment does not make a noticeable difference, move to the next relevant item: check app use, then connections or syncing you can safely do without. Avoid disabling several useful services just to test them all at once. Keeping track of the change you made helps you preserve improvements while restoring anything that causes an unwanted tradeoff.

If the phone still drains unusually fast

If you have reduced screen use, checked background apps, and disabled functions you do not need but the phone still loses charge unusually quickly, battery wear is one possible explanation. itel’s support FAQ says a worn battery may need replacement when no consuming features explain the drain. That guidance does not prove that wear is the cause in any particular phone.

Before buying a battery or arranging service, identify the exact phone model and verify the suitable replacement and service route for that model. A part advertised for a similar-looking device is not enough to establish compatibility. Use model-specific manufacturer or service guidance rather than assuming that one battery fits a whole brand or product family.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not buy a battery simply because the phone is from TECNO, Infinix, or itel, or because a listing uses a similar product name. The support recommendation is to consider wear when the drain is unexplained; it is not a diagnosis of your phone and does not identify a compatible part. Confirm the precise model first and use the appropriate manufacturer or service guidance to determine what replacement, if any, is suitable.

A power bank or charger can replenish the phone when its charge is low, but it does not increase the phone’s own runtime between charges. For this title’s goal—making the handset last longer before the next charge—start with the phone settings and habits above, and treat replacement as a model-specific service question if unexplained drain remains.

What the manufacturer guidance says

The recommendations above are supported by official material, but each source has a defined scope:

  • itel’s Philippines FAQs cover lowering brightness, using automatic brightness where appropriate, shortening timeout, disabling unused functions and sync, reviewing power-intensive or background apps, using power-saving mode, reducing vibration, and considering battery wear if unexplained drain persists.
  • The itel S23 (S665L) user manual has an “Energy-saving” section about active applications, brightness, Wi-Fi, GPS, and other features, and recommends reducing backlight duration and brightness and turning off auto-sync, hotspot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS when unused. This advice is specific to the S23 manual.
  • TECNO’s Turkish POP 7 product page describes that model’s Battery Lab features: Long Battery Life, Super Power Saving, and Smart Power Saving Scenarios.
  • Infinix describes model-specific power-saving features on its pages for the SMART 7 and SMART 8 – Indonesia. Their product descriptions should not be read as a runtime guarantee for other models or for every user.

Across the three brands, the most dependable starting point is to use the controls present on your own device: reduce unnecessary screen time, choose a suitable power-saving mode, investigate app use, and disable only connections or syncing you do not need. If a label or control differs, use the manual for your exact phone rather than treating an example from another model as a universal menu path.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I prolong battery life on my TECNO, Infinix, or itel phone?

Lower the brightness to a comfortable level, shorten the screen timeout or backlight duration, and enable a power-saving mode if your phone offers one. Check the battery or power manager for apps using power in the background, and switch off connections or syncing you do not need. Menu names and available features vary by model.

How do I turn on power-saving mode?

Open Settings and look under Battery, Power, or Phone Manager, or search Settings for “power saving” or “battery.” Some phones may also expose the mode in quick settings. If those options do not help, consult the manual for your exact model; there is no single menu path that applies to every TECNO, Infinix, and itel phone.

Should I turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, mobile data, and auto-sync all the time?

No. The manufacturer advice is to turn off functions you are not using, not to disable every connection continually. Turning off Wi-Fi or mobile data removes that internet connection, disabling Bluetooth affects connected accessories, turning off location prevents location-dependent services from accessing it, and turning off auto-sync means supported data will not sync automatically until it is enabled again.

Will power saving give me a specific number of extra hours?

There is no broadly applicable extra-hours figure supported for these settings. Results depend on the phone model, how you use it, apps, signal conditions, and battery condition. Runtime claims on a product page apply to the specific model and stated conditions, not as a guarantee for another phone or every user.

Should I force-close every app to save battery?

No. Review the battery-use screen, if available, and target apps that are using power in the background and that you do not need. Restrict background activity or remove an app only where appropriate and where your phone provides the control. Changing one app at a time helps you see the effect and avoid disrupting something you rely on.

Could a worn battery be causing fast drain, and should I replace it?

Battery wear is one possible explanation for persistent, unexplained drain, but it is not proof of the cause on a particular phone. Before buying a part or arranging service, confirm the exact model and verify the compatible replacement and service route through model-specific manufacturer or service guidance.

Do TECNO, Infinix, and itel phones all use the same battery-saving features?

No. itel’s support FAQ describes general power-saving guidance, while TECNO POP 7 lists its Battery Lab features and Infinix SMART 7 and SMART 8 pages describe model-specific Power Marathon or Ultra Power Saving features. These examples do not establish that every phone from those brands has the same names, menus, or modes.

The Bottom Line

For a practical first step, reduce brightness, shorten screen timeout, enable a suitable power-saving mode, and review background app use. Switch off only the connections and syncing you can do without, then judge the result during normal use. If unexplained fast drain continues, battery wear is possible; confirm your exact model and suitable service route before replacing a battery.
