To evolve Zorua into Zoroark in Pokémon GO, spend 50 Zorua Candy. Open your Pokémon storage, select Zorua, and tap Evolve on its summary screen. The Candy requirement appears on that screen, and evolution remains unavailable until you have enough Candy. Niantic’s general instructions are documented in its evolution help guide.
For moves, the standard Zoroark pool is Shadow Claw or Snarl as a Fast Attack, plus Foul Play, Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, or Night Shade as Charged Attacks. The announced October 10, 2026 Community Day offered the limited Fast Attack Sucker Punch for evolutions made from 2:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. local time; that event window has now passed, so check the official event page for any future rerun or new eligibility rules. For the PvE recommendation cited here, Pokémon GO Hub favors Snarl with Foul Play.

What you need to evolve Zorua
Zorua evolves directly into Zoroark for 50 Zorua Candy. Niantic announced that cost when Zorua and Zoroark arrived in Pokémon GO, and the Pokémon’s summary screen shows the requirement before you confirm the evolution. The cost is a Candy payment, not Stardust, an item, a walking distance, or a special research step.
The original announcement is Niantic’s “Zorua and Zoroark have revealed themselves in Pokémon GO!”. It states that 50 Zorua Candy evolves Zorua into Zoroark. If the Evolve control is unavailable, first check the Candy total shown on the summary screen; Niantic’s help documentation says a Pokémon cannot be evolved until the displayed Candy requirement has been met.

How to evolve Zorua into Zoroark
- Open Pokémon storage. From the Pokémon GO map, open your Pokémon list and locate the Zorua you want to evolve.
- Open Zorua’s summary. Tap the Zorua to view its individual details, including its Candy count and evolution requirement.
- Check the requirement. Confirm that the summary shows the Zorua evolution cost and that you have at least 50 Zorua Candy.
- Tap Evolve. The button is on the Pokémon’s summary screen. Follow the confirmation prompt to begin the evolution.
- Verify the result. After the animation, the Pokémon in your storage is Zoroark. Reopen its summary to inspect its Fast and Charged Attacks.
This procedure follows Niantic’s general “Evolving your Pokémon” instructions. The requirement is shown per species on the summary page, so use the in-game display as the final check if the game’s interface or a future update changes the presentation.
How to get Sucker Punch on Zoroark
Sucker Punch was the featured Fast Attack for the announced Zorua Community Day on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Niantic scheduled the event itself from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time and specified that evolving Zorua during the event or up to four hours afterward produced a Zoroark that knew Sucker Punch.
Combining the event hours with the four-hour extension gives an announced eligibility window of 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time on October 10, 2026. Niantic’s exact wording, attributed to the Pokémon GO team, is: “Evolve Zorua during the event or up to four hours afterwards to get a Zoroark that knows the Fast Attack Sucker Punch.” Read the full announcement at Niantic’s October 2026 Community Day: Zorua page.

| Time on October 10, 2026 | What the announcement says |
|---|---|
| Before 2:00 p.m. local time | Not inside the stated event or four-hour post-event evolution window. |
| 2:00–5:00 p.m. local time | Community Day is active; evolutions qualify under the announcement. |
| 5:00–9:00 p.m. local time | The four-hour post-event extension; evolutions still qualify. |
| After 9:00 p.m. local time | Outside the announced eligibility window. |
Because the current date is October 16, 2026, that announced window has ended. The event page establishes eligibility for evolutions made during that period, but it does not establish a permanent way to add Sucker Punch afterward, nor does it announce a later rerun. If you are planning around a future event, verify the event page’s date, local-time hours, and post-event evolution period before spending Candy. Do not assume that an event move applies merely because Zorua was caught during Community Day; the wording ties eligibility to when you evolve Zorua.
Zoroark’s standard Pokémon GO moves
A current move listing for Zorua and Zoroark gives Zoroark two standard Fast Attacks and four standard Charged Attacks. The listed pool is summarized below; Sucker Punch is shown separately because it was tied to the limited Community Day evolution window.
| Category | Move | Availability described by the sources |
|---|---|---|
| Fast | Shadow Claw | Listed as a standard Zoroark Fast Attack. |
| Fast | Snarl | Listed as a standard Zoroark Fast Attack. |
| Fast | Sucker Punch | Featured for Zoroark evolved during the announced October 10, 2026 window. |
| Charged | Foul Play | Listed as a standard Zoroark Charged Attack. |
| Charged | Sludge Bomb | Listed as a standard Zoroark Charged Attack. |
| Charged | Flamethrower | Listed as a standard Zoroark Charged Attack. |
| Charged | Night Shade | Listed as a standard Zoroark Charged Attack. |
The move pool is listed by Pokémon Database’s Pokémon GO entry for Zorua and Zoroark. Move availability and rankings can change when Niantic updates the game, so treat that list as a current reference rather than a guarantee that every future version will be identical.

Best practical moveset for PvE
If your main goal is attacking in raids, gyms, or other player-versus-environment battles, the specific recommendation cited for this guide is Snarl as the Fast Attack and Foul Play as the Charged Attack. Pokémon GO Hub’s October 8, 2026 Zorua Community Day guide calls Snarl paired with Foul Play Zoroark’s most practical PvE moveset. Its assessment is a PvE recommendation, not a universal ranking for every format.
Recommended Free Tools
Choose this combination when you want the straightforward PvE set identified by that guide and your Zoroark already has those attacks. If it has a different combination, compare the moves shown on its summary before deciding whether that individual Pokémon fits your intended role. The guide’s recommendation is available in Pokémon GO Hub’s “Zorua Community Day: Your Go-To PvE Guide”.
Why the PvE recommendation is not a universal answer
“Best moveset” depends on the battle format and the job you expect Zoroark to perform. A recommendation for PvE does not automatically establish the best choice for Trainer Battles, defending a gym, or a particular opponent. The cited sources identify the practical PvE pairing but do not provide a current, substantiated PvP ranking for Zoroark.

Choosing moves when you play PvP
If you are choosing a Zoroark for player-versus-player battles, the available evidence here does not support naming a definitive PvP moveset. The standard pool includes Shadow Claw, Snarl, Foul Play, Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, and Night Shade, while Sucker Punch was associated with the event’s special evolution window. None of the cited material supplies a current league-by-league ranking, damage comparison, or matchup analysis that would justify declaring one combination best for Great League, Ultra League, or Master League.
Use a format-first decision process instead:
- Identify the format. Decide whether you are preparing for PvE or a specific Trainer Battle league before judging a move combination.
- Check the role. Decide whether you want a Dark-focused attacker or coverage against targets that resist your primary attack type. The move names alone do not establish which choice is strongest in your exact lineup.
- Inspect the individual Zoroark. Open its summary and record both current attacks. Keep the Pokémon if the combination serves your team; otherwise, evaluate your available in-game options using the current move list and the rules active in your version of Pokémon GO.
- Separate event value from battle value. Sucker Punch’s event eligibility tells you when it could be obtained, not that it is proven superior in PvP or PvE.
This approach avoids turning a limited-time availability statement into an unsupported performance claim. For a competitive decision, consult an up-to-date league-specific analysis after confirming that its rankings apply to your current game version.
Planning an evolution around the event window
The event rule makes timing more important than simply having enough Candy. If you wanted Sucker Punch, the relevant action was completing the evolution during the stated local-time window, not merely catching Zorua or collecting Candy during the event.
Best Value
- Before the event: Keep at least 50 Zorua Candy available for each evolution you intend to make. The in-game summary is the authoritative place to confirm the cost.
- During 2:00–5:00 p.m. local time: Open the selected Zorua’s summary and evolve it while the Community Day hours are active.
- During 5:00–9:00 p.m. local time: The announcement’s four-hour extension still applies, so this was the remaining stated period for eligible evolutions.
- After the deadline: Treat an evolution as outside the announced Sucker Punch window unless Niantic publishes a new rule. The event page should be checked for any changed schedule or rerun.
If you are reading this after October 10, 2026, you can still apply the normal 50-Candy evolution procedure, but the cited announcement no longer offers a current Sucker Punch window. The sources do not state that an ordinary post-event evolution receives Sucker Punch.
Troubleshooting common evolution problems
The Evolve button is unavailable
Check the Candy count on Zorua’s summary. Niantic says the required amount varies by species and appears on the summary; until you have enough Candy, the Pokémon cannot be evolved. For Zorua, the announced requirement is 50 Zorua Candy.
You evolved Zorua but received a different Fast Attack
Review the evolution time against the event’s local-time window. The Sucker Punch guarantee applied to evolutions made from 2:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. local time on October 10, 2026, including the four-hour extension after the 5:00 p.m. event end. Catch time, appraisal, and Candy-collection time are not the condition stated in the announcement.

You are unsure which moves your Zoroark has
Open Zoroark’s summary and read the Fast and Charged Attack fields. Compare them with the standard pool: Shadow Claw or Snarl, and Foul Play, Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, or Night Shade. If the Pokémon was evolved in the Community Day window, check whether Sucker Punch appears as its Fast Attack.
You want a PvP answer but only find a PvE recommendation
Do not transfer the PvE recommendation directly to PvP. The cited guide supports Snarl plus Foul Play for practical PvE use, while the supplied sources do not establish a current PvP ranking. A league-specific decision requires current analysis for that format.
Quick decision guide
| Your objective | What to do |
|---|---|
| Simply obtain Zoroark | Collect 50 Zorua Candy, open Zorua’s summary, and tap Evolve. |
| Obtain the event Fast Attack | Only the announced October 10, 2026 evolution window—2:00–9:00 p.m. local time—qualified; check Niantic for any future event. |
| Prepare a practical PvE attacker | Use Snarl plus Foul Play as the PvE-oriented pairing identified by Pokémon GO Hub. |
| Prepare for PvP | Choose by league, team role, and current matchup analysis; no definitive PvP ranking is established by the cited sources. |
| Confirm what you already evolved | Open Zoroark’s summary and read its displayed Fast and Charged Attacks. |
Sources and update caveats
The 50-Candy cost and the event timing come from Niantic’s official announcements and help documentation. The move pool comes from Pokémon Database, and the Snarl plus Foul Play recommendation comes from Pokémon GO Hub. Niantic can change moves, event rules, or schedules in later updates, so use the in-game summary and the current official event page when making a time-sensitive decision.
