NVIDIA’s reported results through the quarter ended July 26, 2026, show exceptional revenue growth, but they do not establish whether the stock is cheap or expensive. That judgment requires a dated share price, a clearly defined earnings or cash-flow measure, and assumptions about growth, margins, customer spending, and risk.
What do NVIDIA’s latest results show?
NVIDIA’s fiscal year 2026 ended January 25, 2026. Its next fiscal year’s second quarter, Q2 FY2027, ended July 26, 2026. Keep those fiscal periods attached to the figures: they are not calendar-year totals.

These figures come from NVIDIA’s FY2026 Form 10-K and its Q2 FY2027 Form 10-Q. The scale and growth are striking, but Data Center accounts for most revenue. This is primarily an AI-infrastructure growth story, not evidence that every NVIDIA business line is growing at the same rate.

Track the drivers, not just total revenue
NVIDIA attributed FY2026 growth to accelerated computing and AI. For Q2 FY2027, the company said growth was driven by data-center products, that Blackwell continued to account for most system shipments, and that Data Center’s increase reflected the ramp of Blackwell Ultra infrastructure. These are the issuer’s explanations of its results; they are not independent proof that demand will continue at the same pace.

Follow Data Center growth alongside gross margin, operating expenses, inventory provisions, customer concentration, and the pace at which customers actually deploy systems. A business can report rapid sales growth while facing rising costs, delivery constraints, or a weaker product mix.
Separate product economics from one-off charges
In its FY2026 Form 10-K, NVIDIA attributed the annual gross-margin decline to the transition from Hopper HGX products to full-scale Blackwell data-center systems and a $4.5 billion H20 inventory and purchase-obligation charge in Q1 FY2026. In Q2 FY2027, the company attributed the higher year-over-year quarterly margin to improved product mix from Blackwell Ultra. A single quarter’s margin may reflect the mix and timing of shipments; it is not, by itself, a reliable long-term margin forecast.

Ask what capacity commitments imply—and what they do not
NVIDIA reported $279 billion of supply and capacity commitments as of July 26, 2026, up from $119 billion the prior quarter. The company says these commitments help secure inventory and capacity for anticipated demand. They are evidence of preparations for expected sales, not confirmed customer revenue: NVIDIA also warns that demand estimates can be wrong and that production at scale can bring delays, quality or yield problems, inventory provisions, and revenue volatility.
How should you evaluate NVIDIA’s valuation?
The available company filings establish historical results, but do not establish an October 2026 share price, current valuation multiples, analyst-consensus forecasts, or a fair value. Do not call the shares cheap or expensive without those inputs. Build the calculation from dated market data and state each assumption so another reader can reproduce it.

- Set the market-data date. Record the share price and source on that date. Calculate market capitalization using the share count and share class basis you specify; do not treat market capitalization and enterprise value as interchangeable. Enterprise value adjusts market capitalization for cash, debt, and other relevant claims.
- Choose the denominator and label it. A trailing P/E divides the share price by trailing actual earnings per share; a forward P/E uses estimated future EPS. For forward figures, identify the estimate provider and date. A forward multiple is only meaningful alongside the assumptions that produce its earnings denominator.
- Cross-check with other measures. Price-to-sales can help when earnings are temporarily distorted, but it does not account for costs or profitability. Enterprise value to operating cash flow adds a cash-generation perspective, but cash flow can move with working capital and investment needs. No single multiple captures the whole business.
- Test scenarios rather than relying on one forecast. Vary revenue growth, gross margin, operating-expense growth, customer capital spending, and the persistence of AI-infrastructure demand. State which assumptions move the implied valuation most, and distinguish a downside case from a base case and an upside case.
- Make peer comparisons like for like. Use the same market-data date, fiscal periods, accounting basis, and valuation measure. Compare relevant factors such as AI data-center exposure, growth concentration, margins, operating costs, cash generation, supply dependencies, export exposure, and software ecosystem. A premium multiple may reflect expected growth, but it also makes the valuation more sensitive to expectations falling short.
Without a dated market price and defensible forward estimates, the responsible conclusion is about the business—its reported growth and disclosed risks—not a numerical buy-or-sell verdict.
What could interrupt the AI growth story?
Customer concentration and ability to finance deployments
NVIDIA’s Q2 FY2027 Form 10-Q says one direct customer represented 16% of revenue in that quarter. For the first half of FY2027, three direct customers represented 16%, 15%, and 13% of revenue, respectively. These are direct-customer disclosures; they do not identify every ultimate buyer. NVIDIA estimates indirect-customer revenue using purchase orders, product specifications, internal sales data, and other information, and says some indirect customers may individually account for at least 10% of revenue.

The filing also warns that some AI cloud providers and model developers lack long-term infrastructure contracts or investment-grade financing capacity. If funding or deployment capacity does not materialize, customers may delay or reduce orders. NVIDIA describes commitments to selected AI cloud partners that involve purchasing cloud services and may involve revenue sharing if specified criteria are met; changing market conditions could affect results.

AI systems require more than accelerators: customers need sites, power, data-center capacity, and capital to build and operate infrastructure. NVIDIA identifies these as constraints and warns that shortages can affect revenue and financial performance. The company’s Q2 FY2027 filing states: “The availability of land, power, shell, and capital is crucial to support the buildout of a full data center inclusive of NVIDIA AI infrastructure by our customers and partners, and any shortage of these or other necessary resources could impact our future revenue and financial performance.”

Developing this capacity can take multiple years and involve regulatory, technical, and construction challenges. NVIDIA also warns that complex products and inaccurate demand forecasts can lead to supply-demand imbalances, delivery delays, yield issues, higher costs, inventory provisions, and warranty expense. Watch for evidence that customer buildouts and NVIDIA’s supply plans are keeping pace with one another.
Export controls and China access
In its Q2 FY2027 Form 10-Q, NVIDIA described changing U.S. export-license requirements, Chinese government actions, and restrictions affecting sales of certain data-center products. The filing links earlier H20 restrictions to the FY2026 charge described above, and says later H200 licensing did not mean all licensed products could be sold. As of July 26, 2026, NVIDIA said it was effectively foreclosed from competing in China’s data-center compute market. These statements describe the company’s position at that reporting date; regulations and government decisions can change.
Operating costs and execution through product transitions
For Q2 FY2027, NVIDIA reported operating expenses up 55% year over year, primarily due to higher compute-infrastructure and compensation costs. Rising operating costs do not automatically undermine growth, but they matter because revenue growth must translate into sustainable operating income and cash generation. Compare expense growth and margins over multiple reporting periods rather than assuming one quarter’s trends will persist.

What should you conclude from the evidence?
NVIDIA’s reported FY2026 and Q2 FY2027 growth is exceptional and heavily tied to Data Center products. The central investment question is whether that demand, customer financing, infrastructure expansion, and product economics can support future results at a level that justifies the market price. The company’s filings provide operating results and material risks; they do not answer the valuation question without current, dated market data and explicit forward assumptions.
