How to Evaluate Jordan Addison and Other Wide Receivers for Fantasy Football

Evaluate Jordan Addison the same way you would any fantasy wide receiver: start with opportunity, separate volume from efficiency, treat touchdowns as volatile, then adjust for your league’s scoring and the price you would pay. Addison’s 2026 line is only three games, so it is a snapshot—not a dependable full-season forecast.

What does Addison’s record show?

His NFL regular-season receiving totals have varied across three complete seasons. NFL.com lists 2023 as his rookie year and 2025 as a season in which he appeared in 14 games; NFL Fantasy attributes 79 targets to that 2025 line.

Season Games Receptions Receiving yards Receiving TDs Targets
2023 17 (NFL.com) 70 (NFL.com) 911 (NFL.com) 10 (NFL.com) not stated
2024 15 (NFL.com) 63 (NFL.com) 875 (NFL.com) 9 (NFL.com) not stated
2025 14 (NFL.com) 42 (NFL.com) 610 (NFL.com) 3 (NFL.com) 79 (NFL Fantasy)

The NFL Fantasy player card notes a three-game suspension at the start of 2025. Missed games matter when comparing season totals: per-game production, role, and targets can tell a different story than raw totals. The 2023, 2024, and 2025 touchdowns above are receiving scores, not rushing touchdowns.

Read the 2026 line as a short sample

Through three 2026 regular-season games, NFL.com lists seven receptions, 111 yards, and one receiving touchdown. Its career-stat page was checked October 4, 2026. PFF’s player summary, last updated October 3, reports 16 targets, seven catches, 111 yards, 17 yards after catch, one drop, and a 15.4-yard average depth of target (aDOT). NFL.com gives a 15.9-yard receiving average for the same three-game span. The pages do not update identically, so use the publisher’s own figure and date rather than treating every difference as a trend.

The aDOT describes the average depth of targets thrown his way; it is not the distance of his completed catches. Both aDOT and yards per reception can swing sharply over three games. They suggest downfield usage and production in this sample, not a stable projection.

How should you evaluate any fantasy wide receiver?

1. Define your decision and scoring format

First decide whether you are drafting, trading, making a waiver claim, or choosing a weekly starter. Also identify redraft versus dynasty and your league’s scoring and lineup depth. A catch earns different value in standard, half-PPR, and PPR formats, while the number of starting receiver and flex slots affects how valuable a player is relative to the alternatives on waivers. Use your league’s actual settings; there is no universal format-adjusted answer.

2. Start with opportunity

Targets are chances to score, but not all targets are equally valuable. Compare target volume, target share when team pass attempts are available, routes or snap participation, and red-zone or end-zone opportunities. These measures help distinguish a dependable role from a few productive plays.

For Addison, the cited figures establish 16 targets in PFF’s three-game 2026 snapshot and 79 in NFL Fantasy’s 2025 season card. They do not establish a verified 2026 target share, route participation, or red-zone target rate. Do not infer those numbers from catches or touchdowns.

3. Separate volume from efficiency

Track targets alongside receptions, receiving yards, catch rate, yards per target, yards after catch (YAC), and depth of target. Check that compared players use the same stat definitions and time windows, and confirm the denominators before calculating rates. A receiver can produce a strong average on limited opportunities without having a stable weekly workload; another may earn more targets but convert them less efficiently.

PFF’s early-2026 Addison snapshot includes 17 YAC and one drop. Treat those as sample details, not proof of a season-long pattern. Do not substitute aDOT for actual air yards on completed passes.

4. Keep touchdowns in their own column

Touchdowns can have a large effect on fantasy scoring, but totals are volatile. Addison had 10 receiving touchdowns in 2023, nine in 2024, and three in 2025. Compare scores with receiving volume and available red-zone or end-zone chances rather than assuming an earlier touchdown rate will return. The figures cited here do not include end-zone target detail that would support a rebound forecast.

5. Check availability and the team context

Before setting a current floor or ceiling, verify the latest injury and practice report, active status, depth chart, quarterback situation, and recent target distribution. Historical player-card context places Addison in a receiver corps with Justin Jefferson, but the figures here do not establish Addison’s 2026 target hierarchy or current passing environment. Those factors can change both opportunity and the value of a receiver’s past production.

6. Compare players at the price you would pay

Use projections or rankings built for your scoring format, then compare Addison with receivers available at a similar draft, trade, or waiver cost. Consider expected targets, role security, scoring ceiling, and downside—not just last season’s points rank. FanDuel Research described Addison as WR42 by average draft position entering 2026 and reported 93.1 fantasy points and a WR43 finish for 2025. Those are that publisher’s dated figures, not current universal rankings or consensus market values.

What changes when comparing two receivers?

Keep the comparison like-for-like: the same number of games or weeks, scoring format, and definitions. A compact checklist helps prevent a misleading comparison:

  • Format-adjusted projected points and the source’s date.
  • Targets, target share, routes, and snap role.
  • Catch rate and yards per target with consistent denominators.
  • Depth of target, YAC, and receiving-yard production.
  • Red-zone or end-zone opportunities and reliance on touchdowns.
  • Quarterback, team passing volume, injury or suspension availability, and role security.
  • Acquisition cost: draft position, trade value, or waiver priority.

Schedule can matter for a weekly start/sit choice, but use a relevant, sourced matchup measure rather than assuming a player’s season-long value changes because of a broad schedule label.
