On a supported Hisense TV, turn on Content Type Auto Detection to let the television recognize an IMAX Mode tag and apply its preferred picture settings. That setting does not find movies: use Disney+’s IMAX Enhanced filter to browse compatible titles, then check each title’s details and playback options separately for DTS:X audio.
How do I turn on IMAX Enhanced on my Hisense TV?
For the Hisense 9603GTV interface documented in its e-manual, go to Settings > Display & Sound > Picture > General > Content Type Auto Detection and enable the setting. Hisense says it can detect Filmmaker Mode or IMAX Mode tags in content and apply preferred picture settings. It is a picture-setting behavior—not a movie search or streaming-service switch. This exact path is not universal. Hisense cautions that functions may not apply to every model or country/region, and the menu can differ by TV software. If you do not see the option, identify your full model number and region and consult that model’s e-manual or support page. Hisense lists specific IMAX Enhanced examples, including the 85U7N and 116UX; those examples do not establish support across the entire Hisense TV range.

- Open Disney+ and go to its movies page.
- Choose the IMAX Enhanced filter to browse movies Disney+ makes available in IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio.
- On a title that offers a Versions tab, open it and review the description. Where both are listed, choose IMAX Enhanced or Widescreen; the description indicates whether expanded framing applies throughout the film or only to selected sequences.
Disney describes the expanded ratio as 1.90:1, showing up to 26% more of the original image. That is Disney’s format claim, not an independent measurement. Some movies use the expanded ratio only in selected sequences, so an IMAX Enhanced label does not necessarily mean the entire film has the same framing. Disney+ IMAX Enhanced

Disney+’s IMAX Enhanced page includes examples such as Queen Rock Montreal, The Marvels, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Avengers: Endgame. The list is illustrative, not exhaustive or guaranteed in every country; the filter in your own app is the more useful check for current availability.
How do I enable DTS:X sound?
Picture and sound support are separate. Disney+ says supported devices can play the expanded aspect ratio, but DTS:X is limited to select Android TV devices from Sony, Hisense, Sharp, and Xiaomi, and availability also depends on the title. A television’s IMAX picture capability—or an IMAX Enhanced picture badge—does not by itself confirm DTS:X support.

- Open the movie or show’s Details tab and look for a DTS:X badge.
- Start playback and open the player controls.
- Choose Audio Options at the far right, then switch IMAX Enhanced sound with DTS:X to On, if that option appears.
If the title has no DTS:X badge or the audio option is absent, Disney+ says the option will not appear when DTS:X is unsupported. Check the title and device rather than assuming the TV brand alone guarantees it. Disney+ IMAX Enhanced FAQ

What to check if the setting or movie option is missing
- No Content Type Auto Detection setting: Check the complete TV model and region, then use that model’s e-manual; the 9603GTV path may not match your interface.
- No IMAX Enhanced version: Browse Disney+’s movie filter and title-specific Versions tab. Catalog availability can vary by region and change over time.
- No DTS:X control: Check the title’s Details tab for the DTS:X badge. DTS:X has narrower device support than expanded picture and is also title-dependent.
