Current event guides reported that the Celebration Quest required four slices, but they also said the ninth-birthday event ended October 1, 2026. Check whether the quest is still active
Open the in-game Quests tab and look for the Birthday or Celebration objective. September 2026 guides reported a four-slice requirement, but the event was reported to run only through October 1, 2026. If the objective is absent, the quest is not currently available to complete through the reported event route. The date and quest details come from secondary guides, not an official Epic announcement. September 2026 guide

How to eat the cake slices
- Choose Fortnite OG. Current guides identified it as the more reliable mode during the event; they reported that Birthday Cake spawns in Battle Royale could be bugged. This was a report about event-time behavior, not a guarantee about current matches. September 2026 guide
- Land at a Named Location with a reported cake spawn. Junk Junction was listed as one option to try. The available reports do not establish that it is the safest location or has the highest spawn rate.
- Find the large decorative cake, then look around it for individual slices.
- Approach a slice and press the button shown for Consume. The guides describe eating the slice where it sits, rather than picking it up and storing it in inventory.
- Check the quest counter. If the objective is active, repeat until it records four slices. One landing is not guaranteed to provide all four: available slices, other players and spawn behavior can affect your progress.
What the cake does—and what past official announcements establish
Epic’s official 2024 announcement described Birthday Cake slices as restoring some Health and Shield instantly, and said that year’s Birthday Quests were available only until October 1, 2024. Epic’s 2023 announcement likewise described cake as an Island item that restores Health and Shield, with quests limited to the event window. Those announcements explain the historical mechanic and limited-time format; they do not confirm the 2026 quest’s slice count, locations, bug reports, end date or rewards.
