The most direct current way to earn Simoleons in The Sims FreePlay is to fulfill produce requests at the Community Market. Pair market trips with career shifts that earn while you are away, and use longer actions when you cannot check the game. Since an April 2025 update, ordinary vegetables are no longer grown for profit in home garden patches.
Start with Community Market orders
The Community Market is on the town map near the Park, along the riverbank. It is available without building a location: select it, review the produce a customer wants and the Simoleon reward shown at the counter, then fulfill orders to bring more customers into the queue. EA introduced the feature in its April 20, 2025 update announcement and says rewards scale with player level.

EA’s level-7 example illustrates why the market can be more rewarding than the former home-gardening loop: four corn previously earned 148 Simoleons over 20 minutes, while a common request for the same quantity at the market could earn around 540 Simoleons in five minutes. Those are figures from EA’s 2025 announcement, not a guaranteed payout for every order or level.

Market produce goes into a limited-capacity shed, so storage can limit how many requests you can fulfill. Some customers occasionally offer Upgrade Tools instead of Simoleons; the tools expand shed capacity. EA does not state exact current capacity figures or how often tools appear. If storage is full, look for an opportunity to use tools before continuing to stockpile produce.

Use the right gardening system after the 2025 change
Older advice to plant peppers, onions, tomatoes or other vegetables in home garden patches for Simoleons is out of date. In EA’s gardening update, patches unlock after the “Money Grows on Trees” Progression Quest and support Simoleon Sprouts, Life Point Lotus and Social Point Flowers. Ordinary vegetable growing moved to the Community Market.
Fully grown decorative vegetable plants in the Home Store are decor, not an alternative crop-earning loop. For produce orders, use the market; use garden patches for the three supported currency plants.

Let careers earn while you are away
Careers complement the market because shifts can earn currency while you work on other quests and events. EA’s Day Spa Profession FAQ says more experienced Sims receive more Simoleons and XP after each shift. A career requires its corresponding workplace to be built.
Do not confuse careers with professions: professions can involve accompanying a Sim to the workplace to earn resources for upgrading that venue. The Day Spa FAQ says the Day Spa unlocks at level 45 and that completed venue adds town value while future shifts continue to earn passive income. It does not establish that the Day Spa is the best-paying career or compare its returns with market orders.

Fit earning into the time you actually have
Use short check-ins for active market orders and longer stretches away for passive shifts or other long actions. Apple’s App Store tips recommend assigning multiple Sims to actions at once and starting longer tasks before stepping away. That advice helps you use time efficiently, but it does not establish a Simoleon bonus for inspired Sims or a market multiplier.
- Before you leave the game: assign available Sims to career shifts or other longer actions that fit your absence.
- When you return: collect completed work, check the Community Market counter and choose orders based on the reward and produce you can supply.
- As storage fills: watch for Upgrade Tools from customers to expand shed capacity, then resume fulfilling orders.
- When you have only a short session: focus on checking and completing market requests rather than starting an action you cannot collect for a while.
Keep Simoleons, LP and SP separate
Market orders primarily reward Simoleons, although some customers may offer Upgrade Tools. Lifestyle Points (LP) and Social Points (SP) are separate currencies, so a method aimed at building a Simoleon balance should not be treated as a strategy for maximizing all three.

EA’s April 27, 2025 update described a reward for successfully logging into an EA Account through Account Manager in Settings: build items, 25 LP and 20 SP. That was a dated update reward, not evidence of a recurring offer for every player. Check in the game whether it is currently available before relying on it. Do you need to buy virtual currency?
No purchase is required by the earning methods described here. EA says the game offers optional virtual-currency purchases, but the documented gameplay routes include market orders and career shifts. Try those free-play methods before considering a purchase; spending real money does not change the distinction between Simoleons, LP and SP.
