When progression stalls in Last Asylum: Plague, first identify what is actually holding you back: grain, wood, herbs, or Antitoxin. Keep the matching producers and storage in step with your Sanctuary, collect ordinary resources before their production bank fills, and use Antitoxin from workshops and activities to level heroes when your Sanctuary allows it. Raiding can help with a shortfall, but it is an optional, scout-first supplement—not a dependable replacement for your own economy.
Know which resource is blocking progress
The game combines a settlement economy with hero progression, but the resources serve different purposes. Grain (called food in the App Store description), wood (also described as timber), and herbs support development. Antitoxin is used to level heroes. Gear workshops produce separate gear materials, so they do not replace the resources needed for hero levels.

Check the names and costs shown in your own building and hero panels; the labels differ across references.

Build a production loop that does not waste offline time
Farms, Lumberyards, and Herb Gardens produce ordinary resources over time, but they do not bank output indefinitely. The Last Asylum Wiki resource page, checked in August 2026 and last edited in September 2026, reports a collection window ranging from 3.5 hours at level 1 to 12 hours at level 30 for these facilities. Once the applicable limit is reached, production stops until you collect.

- Match upgrades to the bottleneck. If the next useful building or research requirement is wood, prioritize the Lumberyard rather than upgrading every producer indiscriminately.
- Keep storage in view. Production is useful only if you can collect and retain what you need. Avoid pushing Sanctuary levels so quickly that producers and capacity lag behind the next tier; this is a sensible fan-guide approach, not an official optimal build order.
- Collect on a schedule you can sustain. If you are away longer than your producers’ bank window, some output time is lost. A larger production level extends the reported window, but check the current in-game panel because building rules may change.

Earn Antitoxin from workshops and activities
Antitoxin is the hero-level currency. Workshops provide a predictable baseline, while activity rewards can add to it. The community-maintained Last Asylum Wiki lists building-upgrade rewards, Falcon Quests, Covert Ops (including personal and plundered operations), caravans, Blight hunting, and events such as Cheese Trap as possible sources. Exact payouts and availability depend on account progression and event state, so there is no established single activity that is best for every player.

The Wiki calculates that five level-30 Antitoxin Workshops would produce 1,298,330 Antitoxin per hour, or 31,159,920 per day. These are community-reference calculations from 2026, not tested or publisher-guaranteed earnings; verify live rates and workshop limits in-game.
Treat any upgrade or event reward as an addition to the workshop baseline, not as a guaranteed recurring income. The listed routes include one-time rewards and activity-dependent payouts, and should not be assumed to pay the same amount each day.

Raise the hero level cap through Sanctuary progression
Your Sanctuary level sets the maximum hero level. When a hero is blocked by that ceiling, accumulating more Antitoxin alone will not raise the cap: advance the Sanctuary as required, then spend Antitoxin on the hero who supports your immediate objective. The available references confirm the cap relationship but do not establish one universally best hero or investment order.
The resource reference distinguishes Antitoxin credited directly from inventory items and Level Supplies that can be opened later. It suggests that holding supplies until a higher Sanctuary level can increase their value. Because item descriptions and applicable caps may change, check the current description and your level limit before saving or opening them.

Antitoxin has no storehouse, according to the Last Asylum Wiki, so accumulated stock is exposed to raids. This makes it a progression currency to use thoughtfully rather than protected warehouse stock; avoid accumulating more than you need without considering that risk.

Plundering can bridge an ordinary-resource gap, but the community guide recommends scouting before attacking. Compare the visible resources with the stamina and troop expense, and account for carrying capacity: troop Load determines how much can be brought back, while higher-tier troops and some technologies can improve Load. Yields are not guaranteed, and attacks affect other players, so treat this as an optional route rather than the foundation of your economy.

A practical order of operations
- Check the next progression cost. Identify whether the immediate blocker is grain, wood, herbs, Antitoxin, or a separate gear material.
- Upgrade the matching producer and storage where relevant. Keep settlement capacity reasonably aligned with your Sanctuary tier rather than advancing the Sanctuary without supporting production.
- Collect before ordinary producers reach their bank limit. Use the facility panel to confirm the current collection window for your level.
- Claim the Antitoxin routes available to your account. Check workshops, Falcon Quests, Covert Ops, caravans, Blight hunting, upgrade rewards, and current events without assuming their payouts are fixed.
- Advance Sanctuary when the hero cap is the blocker. Then direct Antitoxin to the hero relevant to the next goal rather than spreading it on an unsupported universal priority.
- Scout before any resource raid. Compare the prospective haul against costs and Load capacity before committing troops.
Check event rules before delaying a claim
Some players ask whether they can leave completed resource-building upgrades uncollected until a particular Alliance Duel build day. A community discussion records that question, but it does not establish that withholding a claim is possible, safe, or beneficial under current scoring rules. Before delaying a collection or upgrade claim, read the current in-game event objective and claim rules; do not assume an anecdotal strategy still applies.
