As you progress, add processing, bees, Merchant Ship orders, and automation only when their inputs and setup do not hold back crafting, upgrades, or quests. Prices and profits can vary by version and save, so check the value shown in your game before committing valuable stock.
What to do first: use the early-game loop
Early on, you do not need an advanced farm or processing line to start earning. Pair fishing and farming with requests that match your existing inventory; these routes use different resources and can fit around one another. The Starsand Island Wiki money-making guide, last checked August 19, 2026, describes the Bulletin Board as resetting daily at 06:00 and offering three difficulty tiers.

Sell fish caught with the Wooden Rod
Use the starter Wooden Rod to catch fish you can reach reliably, then sell the catches you do not need. Fishing itself is not the source of Coins; the sale is. Older fish-price lists may not match your current version, so treat the in-game value as authoritative rather than planning around a fixed price.
Grow crops that fit your current progress
Take up farming when it becomes available, and choose crops you can grow at your current profession rank and in the current season. Starter crops can provide a steady complement to fishing, while later crops depend on progression. There is no well-established crop that is the best profit choice for every save: seed cost, season length, repeat-harvest timing, and your available playtime all affect the result.
#1 Best Overall
Choose Bulletin Board requests you can fill from stock
Look for straightforward 1- and 2-star requests whose deliverables are already in storage or easy to replace. They pay Coins as well as other progression rewards, but a request is a poor trade if completing it consumes a material you need for an active quest or an imminent upgrade. Be cautious with timed requests unless you can meet their conditions reliably.
Register discoveries when convenient
Islandpedia or stamp rewards can provide one-off milestone gains as you register discoveries. They are useful bonuses, not a repeatable daily income route, so collect them alongside your regular loop rather than relying on them to fund ongoing expenses.
How to add income routes as you progress
Additional systems can broaden your options, but each has an unlock cost or depends on inputs, time, and current demand. Add them when they fit your progression instead of treating every unlocked system as automatically profitable.
| Route | When it may fit | What to check before committing |
|---|---|---|
| Cooking and processing | Once the relevant recipes and stations are available | Compare output sale value with the value and replacement cost of every input, plus machine time. Processing does not always increase value; the guide specifically notes that a Separator can reduce an item’s value. |
| Bees and Beelessings | When the required skill and farm setup are available | Beelessings are described as skill-gated. Use flowers you have actually farmed and account for the time and inputs needed to support the effect. |
| Merchant Ship sales | After port progression lets you use the ship | Check its current demand list and offer, then weigh that offer against the item’s other uses. A fan guide reports premiums for listed goods, but the exact offers vary. |
| Advanced crops and automation | Later, when crop access, skills, equipment, and inputs support the setup | Include setup costs, fertilizer, harvest timing, machine throughput, and the time you can spend maintaining the system. Large daily-income figures are player-reported setups, not guaranteed earnings. |
The Starsand Island Online money-making guide, reviewed August 23, 2026, includes value multipliers and endgame examples measured mostly during Early Access. Those figures should not be treated as current guarantees. The Wiki guide labels its context version 1.0 while also including Early Access reports, and notes that early fish-price tables are pre-1.0. Check current values in your own save.

Protect resources before selling or processing them
An item’s sale price is only part of its value. If selling it delays a tool upgrade, blocks a quest, or forces you to spend time replacing it, the quick Coins may cost more in lost progress. Before selling a valuable material or feeding it into a machine, check these questions:
- Is it required for an active quest, a tool or station upgrade, or a near-term unlock?
- How much time and how many inputs would it take to replace?
- After counting every ingredient and the machine time, does processing improve the sale value?
- Is a Bulletin Board request or Merchant Ship offer available now, and can you spare the required quantity?
- Can you test a small batch before scaling up?
Keep the stock needed for known progression goals, and sell genuine surplus. If you are unsure about a route’s margin, compare the current in-game values for the item, its ingredients, and its processed output, then trial a small amount before committing a larger supply.

Build a routine around time and availability
There is no verified global coins-per-day ranking that establishes one universally best farm. Your best route depends on unlocks, season, inputs, demand, and how long you can play. A practical routine combines activities with different timing: tend crops when harvests are ready, fish while fields grow, check the request board after its daily reset, and process only surplus when the machine and inputs are available.
Expand a field or machine line only when you can supply its inputs and handle its output sustainably. If a system requires more materials or attention than you can maintain, it can tie up resources without improving your usable income. Treat claims of hundreds of thousands of Coins per day as reports about particular late-game setups, not a promise for a new or differently progressed save.
