Check the live in-game rewards before choosing a mode: payouts depend on the mode, your performance or rank, and the season. EA says FC 27 increases post-match coin rewards in Rivals, Champions, and Squad Battles compared with FC 26, but it has not published one guaranteed amount for every match. Avoid coin sellers and trades intended to move coins between accounts; they can put your account and market access at risk.
Legitimate ways to earn Ultimate Team Coins
There are three straightforward routes: play Ultimate Team matches, collect rewards from modes and objectives, and sell tradeable items. EA also lists quick-selling tradeable items as an earning route. These methods do not produce a fixed return: match results, rank, reward choices, item tradeability, market demand, and the active season all matter.

- Play matches: match coins vary with factors such as performance, competition level, and mode.
- Claim mode rewards: Rivals, Champions, and Squad Battles have reward structures, with weekly rewards tied to progress and placement.
- Sell or quick-sell tradeable items: use fair current prices for items you no longer need, rather than trying to use a listing to send currency to another player.
- Complete objectives: objectives can provide rewards and Season Points. Check each task’s stated reward rather than assuming every objective directly pays coins.
These routes work differently. Match coins arrive as you play, while mode rewards depend on progress toward the current reward thresholds. Objectives ask you to meet their individual requirements and may lead to Coins, items, or Season Points depending on the task. A tradeable item can be sold to another player through a legitimate market listing; an untradeable item cannot be sold there. Treat each route as a separate opportunity, not as a promised total you can add up in advance.

What changed for FC 27—and which figures are historical
EA’s FC 27 launch update, published in 2026, says post-match Coins are increasing in Rivals, Champions, and Squad Battles compared with FC 26. EA describes FC 26 match earnings as typically roughly 500 to 600 FUT Coins per match. The FC 27 update does not give a single guaranteed payout per match, so treat the comparison as a stated increase, not as a fixed FC 27 yield.
The following are EA’s published weekly reward ranges for FC 26 Season 1. They help show how much payouts could vary by progression; they are historical examples and must not be treated as FC 27 reward promises.
| Mode | FC 26 Season 1 weekly reward range | What affects the result |
|---|---|---|
| Rivals | 1,500–25,000 Coins | Division placement and reward upgrades; Rivals is player-versus-player. |
| Champions | 2,000–85,000 Coins | Competitive progression and the applicable reward tier. |
| Squad Battles | 3,000–20,000 Coins | Placement and reward progress; Squad Battles is player-versus-environment. |
The spread between the lower and upper figures is substantial, particularly in Champions. It illustrates why a weekly reward range is not a prediction for an individual account: your placement, progress, and reward tier determine what applies. Do not use the top of a historical range as a weekly target unless the current game shows that tier and its requirements for your account.
EA says rewards can change and directs players to the in-game mode hub for current listings. Check that hub for the active season’s requirements and rewards before committing time. The FC 26 Season 1 ranges above do not establish current FC 27 payouts, nor do they show how many coins a particular player will earn in a week.
Choose a mode by fit, not by a supposed coins-per-hour ranking
There is no established guaranteed coins-per-hour winner among the modes. The practical choice is the mode you can play consistently and progress in, given the current reward table and your preference for PvP or PvE.
| Mode | Match style | Useful decision factors |
|---|---|---|
| Rivals | PvP | Consider your comfort playing other people, your division progress, and the weekly reward tier you can realistically reach. |
| Champions | Competitive PvP | Compare the current entry and reward requirements with your available time and expected performance; rewards depend on the applicable progression tier. |
| Squad Battles | PvE | Consider whether playing against AI suits you better, and check the active reward thresholds and difficulty requirements in-game. |
Before starting, look at the live requirements and reward information for the mode. Ask yourself how much time you can give it, whether you prefer PvP or PvE, what rank or placement is plausible for you, and whether the rewards you want are tradeable. A high listed reward tier is only useful if you can reach it; the available facts do not support assuming one mode is always the most profitable.
Think of this as choosing a route you can actually complete, rather than chasing the largest number in a reward chart. If you have a short session, it may make sense to play the mode whose matches fit your schedule or progress an objective alongside your games. If you have more time, compare how much remains to reach a reward threshold before committing additional matches. These are planning considerations, not evidence that one mode produces more Coins per hour.

Performance and rank matter, but so does your comfort with the format. Rivals and Champions involve playing other people; Squad Battles is against AI. A PvE preference may make Squad Battles a better fit even if another mode displays a higher reward at a particular tier. Conversely, a player who enjoys competitive PvP may find Rivals or Champions more engaging. Check the live reward details first, since neither preference guarantees a particular result.
How to sell tradeable players and items fairly
The Transfer Market is for buying and selling items for legitimate use in building your Club. An item’s price can shift as supply and demand change, and listings have price floors and ceilings. There is no universally profitable player, item, or fixed listing price established here, so check current comparable listings in the game rather than relying on an old price tip.
- Check whether the item is tradeable. Rewards and items can differ in tradeability. An untradeable item cannot be sold on the Transfer Market.
- Decide whether you need it for your Club. Keep items you plan to use; consider selling an unwanted tradeable item if its current market value is worthwhile to you.
- Compare current listings for the same item. Prices move with market demand. Use live listings as context and choose a fair price within the item’s available listing limits.
- List it for a genuine sale, or quick-sell when appropriate. A quick sale is an alternative EA identifies for tradeable items, but it is not the same as getting a market buyer’s price. Check the in-game value and make the choice deliberately.
- Review the result before repeating. An item that does not sell may be priced above current demand or may have little demand. Recheck current listings instead of treating a past price as a reliable target.
Use a market listing to offer an item at a fair price to buyers, not to guarantee that you receive a particular amount. Supply can change after you check a price, and a listing may not sell. Listing floors and ceilings limit the prices you can set, but being within those limits alone does not make a price fair or likely to attract a buyer.
Quick-selling is simpler, but compare the in-game quick-sale value with the option of listing the item before deciding. A market listing may take time and may not sell; quick-selling trades that uncertainty for the stated quick-sale amount. No route is universally better because item demand and your own need for the item differ.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDo not arrange an unusually high or low sale with another account to move Coins. A market listing should correspond to a legitimate item sale, not act as a disguised coin transfer.
Use objectives and events without assuming every task pays Coins
Objectives can grant rewards and Season Points, and dynamic or event objectives may only be available for a limited time. They are worth checking alongside mode rewards, but read each objective’s details: its requirements, mode, difficulty, expiry, and stated reward. Some tasks may lead to rewards or progress without awarding Coins directly.
- Open the Campaign Hub and review the active Objectives.
- Read the full task requirements, including the required mode and difficulty.
- Check the expiry time and reward before deciding whether the task fits your schedule.
- After completing it, claim the reward if the game requires a separate claim, then check which received items are tradeable.
Objectives can be a useful complement to matches when their conditions line up with the mode you already plan to play. For example, if an active task calls for a particular mode, difficulty, or match action, confirm those details before playing so you do not spend time in the wrong place. The objective’s own description is the authority on what counts; do not assume that ordinary match progress completes a task.

A practical routine for building Coins
A consistent routine makes it easier to capture rewards without confusing a possible reward with a guaranteed one.
- Start with the live reward hub. Check current Rivals, Champions, and Squad Battles rewards and their progress requirements. Pick a mode that suits your time, preference, and likely performance.
- Play the mode you selected. Match coins are earned through play, but the amount can vary. FC 27’s stated increase is not a fixed per-game payment.
- Check Objectives in the Campaign Hub. Prioritize tasks whose modes and requirements fit the matches you already intend to play, and note any expiry.
- Claim available rewards. Inspect new items for tradeability instead of assuming a reward can be sold.
- Review unwanted tradeable items against the live market. List at a fair current price or quick-sell when that suits your needs.
- Keep a record of your own progress if useful. Compare coins earned and time spent across your sessions; this can help you decide what fits your play habits, but it is not a guarantee of future earnings or proof that a mode is universally best.
It can help to separate immediate match earnings from rewards that arrive after mode progression. Note what you actually receive, whether reward items are tradeable, and how much play time you spent. This personal comparison can reveal which activities suit your schedule, but it should not be treated as a reliable rate for another player or a promise that the next session will pay the same.
Before selling, check whether an item is useful for your Club and whether there is a current market for it. Before starting another session, look again at the active reward threshold or objective expiry. The point of the routine is to make deliberate choices with current information, not to chase a fixed Coin target that the game has not guaranteed.
What to do if the Transfer Market is locked
New players may need to complete EA’s Graduated Access objectives before gaining full in-game Transfer Market access. EA specifies three Objective Groups: The Journey Begins, First Team Dreams, and Rising Through the Ranks.
Recommended Free Tools
- Complete the required groups in Ultimate Team: The Journey Begins, First Team Dreams, and Rising Through the Ranks.
- Allow time for access to update after completing them. EA says full access may take up to 48 hours on PC or up to 24 hours on other platforms.
- During the waiting period, listing may be available even when searching, bidding, or buying is not. Check the functions available in your account rather than assuming the market is fully open.
- If you mean the Web or Companion App market, note that in-game Graduated Access does not automatically grant access there; EA sets separate requirements for those apps.
The distinction between partial access and full access matters: being able to list an item does not necessarily mean you can search for items, place bids, or buy them yet. If the market still appears limited just after completing the specified groups, allow the relevant wait period rather than assuming that the same access rules apply on every platform.
Web and Companion App access is a separate matter from completing the in-game groups. Do not assume that finishing these objectives automatically unlocks those app markets; EA lists separate requirements. If your goal is simply to sell a tradeable item, check which Transfer Market actions are available in the game while access updates.

Coin-buying and coin-transfer methods to avoid
EA allows players to earn Coins through Ultimate Team play and fair item sales, but prohibits buying Coins. Its rules also treat several ways of moving Coins between accounts as coin distribution, even when a Transfer Market listing is involved.
- Do not buy Coins from a third-party seller.
- Do not send Coins to a friend or use market listings to transfer currency rather than acquire an item for legitimate Club use.
- Do not arrange abnormal item prices to move Coins between accounts.
- Do not funnel Coins across accounts you control.
- Do not offer Coins as a giveaway tied to an outside promotion or favor.
- Do not share login details with sellers or use third-party apps and browser extensions that EA warns can put account information at risk.
The key distinction is the purpose of a transaction. A normal sale is for an item you want to acquire for legitimate Club use, at a fair price. Using a listing as a way to send currency—whether to a friend, another account you own, or someone connected to an outside offer—is coin distribution rather than ordinary trading. A market transaction does not become permissible merely because it uses the in-game Transfer Market.
EA warns that violations can result in Coin removal, Club deletion, temporary or permanent bans, and Transfer Market restrictions. A seller who asks for account credentials also creates a risk of account theft. The safest way to build a balance is to earn it in Ultimate Team and use the market only for ordinary, fair transactions.
EA’s Help guidance states: “You can earn Coins in FC Ultimate Team™ by playing matches or selling Items on the Transfer Market, but you can’t purchase Coins.” That summarizes the safe approach: earn through play and legitimate item sales, and do not use third parties or coordinated transactions to bypass the rules.
Limits to keep in mind
There is no reliable universal answer to “how many Coins will I make per hour?” or a fixed best mode for every player. Current rewards, rank, results, time available, and tradeable drops differ. EA’s published FC 26 Season 1 ranges are tied to that game and season; its FC 27 launch update describes an increase in post-match coins but does not set a guaranteed FC 27 match amount. For a decision today, the current in-game reward hub and live Transfer Market listings are the relevant references.
Likewise, no static item-price list can promise a profitable sale: demand moves, listings are subject to floors and ceilings, and an item may not sell. Treat historical reward numbers and old market tips as context only. Use the current game information for decisions that depend on the active season, your account’s progress, and the state of the market.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best way to earn FC Ultimate Team Coins without buying them?
Play Ultimate Team matches, claim rewards available in Rivals, Champions, or Squad Battles, complete objectives for their stated rewards, and sell unwanted tradeable items at fair current Transfer Market prices. The best fit depends on your time, preferred PvP or PvE style, progress, and the active reward table; no mode has a guaranteed Coins-per-hour advantage.

How many Coins do you get per match in FC 27?
EA’s FC 27 launch update says post-match Coin rewards are increasing in Rivals, Champions, and Squad Battles compared with FC 26, where match earnings were typically roughly 500 to 600 FUT Coins. EA has not published one guaranteed FC 27 amount for every match. Performance, competition level, and mode affect match earnings, so check the current in-game information.
Are FC 26 Season 1 reward amounts still valid for FC 27?
No. EA’s FC 26 Season 1 figures—1,500 to 25,000 Coins for Rivals, 2,000 to 85,000 for Champions, and 3,000 to 20,000 for Squad Battles—are historical examples, not FC 27 promises. Reward structures can change; use the live mode hub for current requirements and rewards.
Can I sell every player or reward on the Transfer Market?
No. Check whether an item is tradeable first; untradeable items cannot be sold on the Transfer Market. For a tradeable item, compare current listings and use a fair price within the available listing limits. If you do not want to list it, EA also identifies quick-selling tradeable items as an earning route; check the in-game value before choosing.
Why can I list an item but not search, bid, or buy on the Transfer Market?
New players may have partial access while completing EA’s Graduated Access process. EA specifies The Journey Begins, First Team Dreams, and Rising Through the Ranks; after completion, full in-game access may take up to 48 hours on PC or 24 hours on other platforms. Web and Companion App market access has separate requirements.
Is it allowed to send Coins to a friend or move them between my accounts?
No. EA prohibits coin distribution, including sending Coins to friends, funneling them across accounts, and using unusually priced listings to move currency rather than buy an item for legitimate Club use. Possible consequences include Coin removal, Club deletion, bans, or Transfer Market restrictions.
The Bottom Line
To earn FC Ultimate Team Coins safely, play matches, claim current mode rewards, check objectives, and sell only tradeable items at fair live market prices. FC 26 Season 1 reward figures are historical, and FC 27 does not have a guaranteed per-match payout. Avoid third-party sellers and any transaction intended to transfer Coins between accounts.
