In FC 27 Ultimate Team, earn Coins by playing eligible matches, claiming mode rewards, completing Objectives and selling tradeable Items at fair market prices. Build SBC fodder from player Items you already own or earn, and check your Club and SBC Storage before buying anything. An Item submitted to an SBC is permanently removed, so review the requirements and reward before you commit it.
What Coins and SBC fodder mean
Coins are Ultimate Team’s spendable currency. Fodder is a player Item you are willing and eligible to submit into a Squad Building Challenge (SBC), rather than one you plan to keep in your squad. These are not interchangeable: some player Items are untradeable, and an Item may not meet a particular SBC’s conditions.

Earn Coins through play and rewards
Play matches that fit your schedule
Eligible matches can provide Coins, while modes and Objectives may also reward Coins, packs or player Items. EA’s FC 27 launch update says match Coins are being increased in Rivals, Champions and Squad Battles, and that a higher proportion of rewards across Objectives and modes will be tradeable. EA cited roughly 500 to 600 FUT Coins typically earned from a match in EA SPORTS FC 26 as a comparison baseline; that figure is not a guaranteed FC 27 payout. Complete Objectives and claim what you have earned
Foundation Objectives introduce Ultimate Team activities and can grant Player Items, Packs and Coins. Check current Objectives and their progress, then claim completed rewards; the available tasks and rewards can change.
Use Squad Battles for an AI-opponent route
Squad Battles lets you compete against AI-controlled teams for a weekly rank. Your rank depends on Battle Points, and the threshold can shift as other players earn points. After you have played the weekly competition matches, additional Squad Battles do not raise that week’s score, but can still earn Coins and Objective progress. Choose it if you prefer AI matches or want to work toward its weekly rewards; do not assume extra matches will improve your weekly rank. See EA Help’s Squad Battles guide.

Play Rivals or Squad Battles toward Champions
Rivals and Squad Battles can earn Champions Qualification Points. Champions rewards may include Coins, Qualification Points and Tokens, with the actual rewards tied to event progress and performance. Check the live Champions event in-game for its qualification conditions and reward details rather than relying on a fixed payout. EA Help’s Champions guide.

Review rewards and packs for Items you do not need. If an Item is tradeable, you can list it on the Transfer Market at a fair price based on current listings and demand. Confirm tradeability before listing: untradeable Items cannot be sold. Prices fluctuate, and EA sets minimum and maximum listing prices, so there is no dependable fixed value for a particular reward.

Do not use listings to move Coins between accounts. Buying Coins from third parties, sending Coins to another player, or manipulating Item prices to transfer value violates EA’s rules. EA warns penalties can include Coin removal, leaderboard removal or Club deletion. Use the market only for legitimate sales at fair prices. EA’s Coin and Points safety guidance.
Build SBC fodder without wasting useful players
Check your Club and SBC Storage first
Before buying players, look through your Club and SBC Storage for suitable Items. SBC Storage holds duplicate untradeable player Items. Check each player’s eligibility and the challenge requirements; an Item that looks expendable may still be useful in another squad or objective.

Match Items to the challenge, not just its rating
Read the SBC’s requirements, reward and expiry. Consider whether the reward is worth the Items you would give up, including tradeable Items that could otherwise be sold. Compare the available players in your Club and Storage with the challenge conditions before filling gaps through purchases. EA says submitted Items are permanently removed and recommends comparing the exchanged Items with the reward. EA Help’s Squad Building Challenges guidance.

Understand multi-submission SBCs
EA’s FC 27 launch materials describe Streamlined SBCs, which let eligible Items contribute toward a target score over multiple submissions. Multi-step contribution does not remove the commitment risk: check the specific challenge terms and reward before submitting any Item.

Keep Season Points separate from Coins
EA says eligible FC 27 matches can award between 15 and 100 Season Points depending on result and mode, up to 850 Season Points per day. These are Season Points, not Coins; they should not be counted as currency for buying players or completing SBCs. Choose a route based on what you need

EA does not provide a common Coins-per-hour comparison for these routes. Pick based on your time, comfort with AI or competitive play, weekly-rank or qualification goals, and whether you value Coins, packs, player Items, Objective progress or Tokens.
