Request your Bumble data before you delete your profile. The fastest route identified by Bumble Support is to open chat support and write that you want to “Request data.” Bumble says it aims to provide the information within one calendar month, although a shorter legal deadline may apply in your location and many users receive it sooner after the request is confirmed.
Only after submitting that request should you delete the profile, if you are ready to leave. Deleting the Bumble app or simply stopping activity does not delete your account. Also check any Bumble Boost, Premium or Premium+ subscription before you confirm deletion, because Bumble says subscriptions may need to be canceled separately.

What to do first
The order matters because deleting your profile changes what you can access in the app. Use this sequence:

- Open Bumble’s chat support.
- State clearly that you want to “Request data.” Bumble also describes this as a Subject Access Request.
- Save the confirmation or reference information from the request.
- Wait for the data response or at least confirm that Bumble has accepted the request.
- Cancel any eligible Bumble subscription separately.
- Delete the profile in the app only when you are satisfied that the request is submitted and you are ready to leave.
This approach protects against the most common mistake: removing the app first and assuming the account and its records have gone with it.

How to submit a Bumble data request
Use chat support and the exact request wording
Bumble’s support guidance, last updated June 2, 2026, says the fastest way to request your data is to contact Bumble through chat support and state that you would like to “Request data.” Use those words in the opening message so the support agent can route the request correctly.
You do not need to describe the request as a generic account-closure question. Say that you want a copy of your personal data before closing the account. Bumble’s own terminology may identify the process as a “Request data” request or a Subject Access Request.
Make the request while the account is still available
Submit the request before deleting the profile. If you delete first, you may lose the easiest way to authenticate the account or explain which profile the request concerns. Keep access to the email address or phone number associated with Bumble until the request is complete, because support may need to verify that you are the account holder.

Keep a record of the submission
Save the date you contacted support, the wording of your request and any case or confirmation details. The one-calendar-month period Bumble describes is an aim for providing requested data, not a guaranteed instant-download deadline. A written record lets you identify when the request was made if you need to ask support for an update.
How long Bumble says the data request can take
Bumble says it aims to provide requested data within one calendar month. A shorter timeframe may apply depending on where you live, and Bumble says most users receive the information sooner once the request has been confirmed. These are Bumble’s stated service timelines, not an independent performance statistic, so do not plan around a guaranteed delivery date.

If the stated period passes without a response, contact Bumble support again with the date and confirmation details from your original request. Do not submit duplicate requests unless support tells you to; duplicates can make it harder to track which request is active.
What happens with conversations and matches
A conversation copy is limited to the requesting person’s side
Bumble says that a request for a copy of a conversation with a match returns the side belonging to the person who submitted the request. One person cannot use their request to obtain both participants’ records.
Both people must request their own side
If you and a former match need a complete record of the exchange, each person must submit a separate data request. Your request does not automatically include the other person’s messages, profile information or account data.
This distinction is important when you are saving a conversation for personal records, a dispute or a safety report. Treat the data Bumble supplies as the copy associated with your account, not as a complete export of another person’s account.
Check subscriptions before deleting
Before you confirm deletion, check whether your account has Bumble Boost, Premium or Premium+. Bumble advises canceling an eligible subscription first because subscriptions may not cancel automatically when the profile is deleted.
Why this check is separate
Deleting a profile and stopping recurring billing are different actions. A hidden or deleted profile does not, by itself, establish that a subscription has been canceled. Review the subscription status in the store or payment channel where you purchased it, follow that channel’s cancellation process, and keep the cancellation confirmation.

If you are unsure whether a payment is still active, check your current subscription listing and recent billing statement before deleting. Avoid assuming that uninstalling Bumble ends a subscription.
How to delete your Bumble profile in the app
Once your data request is submitted and any subscription issue is handled, Bumble’s in-app deletion path is:
- Open Bumble and tap the profile icon.
- Tap Settings using the gear icon.
- Scroll to Delete account.
- Choose a reason when Bumble asks.
- Confirm the deletion.
The labels above reflect Bumble’s support instructions. If you do not see the option, make sure you are signed in to the correct profile and that the app is current. If the control still is not available, use Bumble support rather than relying on uninstalling the app.

Deleting the app is not deleting the account
Bumble Support states, in guidance last updated September 10, 2026, that deleting the Bumble app from your phone or being inactive for a long period does not automatically delete your profile. Uninstalling only removes the app from that device. Your profile and account remain subject to Bumble’s account rules until you use the in-app deletion control or contact support through the applicable process.
Deletion is not the same as immediate erasure
When you delete the profile, Bumble says it is removed from public view. That does not mean every record disappears immediately.
The 28-day restoration period
Bumble says a deleted profile may be restored by contacting Support for up to 28 days. After that period, the profile is no longer recoverable and the erasure process begins. The restoration window is therefore a practical safety period: deleting the profile hides it, but the deletion is not immediately irreversible.

If there is any chance you will want the profile back, do not treat the deletion confirmation as a point of no return during those 28 days. Conversely, if you are trying to leave permanently, remember that ordinary deletion starts a process rather than completing all erasure at once.

What Bumble may still retain
Bumble says it may retain basic account data to enforce a block and may retain data when legal or regulatory obligations require it. Those stated exceptions mean you should not promise yourself or someone else that account deletion instantly removes every record from Bumble’s systems.
When to use a Data Erasure Request instead
Bumble describes a separate Data Erasure Request for people who want to skip the 28-day restoration period. This is the option to consider when waiting through the normal recovery window is not appropriate and you want Bumble to process an erasure request directly.
How the two options differ

What “skip the restoration period” means
The separate request avoids leaving the deleted profile in a state that can be restored for up to 28 days. It does not guarantee that every item of information is erased instantly or that Bumble can delete data it is required to retain.
If you choose this route, make the request through Bumble’s support process and identify it as a Data Erasure Request. Keep the submission record and allow up to 30 days for processing.
Choosing between deletion and a Data Erasure Request
Use ordinary deletion when you want your profile hidden now but may need the 28-day recovery option. Use a Data Erasure Request when you specifically want to skip that recovery period and accept the stated processing time of up to 30 days.
- Choose ordinary deletion if: you want a reversible window, have already requested your data, and do not need immediate finalization.
- Consider a Data Erasure Request if: you do not want the 28-day restoration option and want Bumble to handle the erasure request directly.
- In either case: Bumble’s stated retention exceptions still apply, so neither path is a promise that every record will be removed.
A practical closing-account checklist
Use this checklist immediately before you leave Bumble:
- Have you submitted “Request data” through Bumble chat support?
- Did you save the request date and any confirmation details?
- Did you allow for Bumble’s stated aim of up to one calendar month, with possible location-dependent shorter deadlines?
- If you need a match conversation, do you understand that your copy contains your side and that the other person needs a separate request for theirs?
- Did you check for Bumble Boost, Premium or Premium+?
- Did you cancel an eligible subscription through the relevant payment channel and save proof?
- Are you deleting the profile through profile icon → Settings (gear) → Delete account, rather than just uninstalling the app?
- Do you want the 28-day restoration window, or do you need to ask for a Data Erasure Request instead?
- Have you saved any information you are entitled to keep before confirming deletion?
Common mistakes and how to recover
You deleted the app but the profile is still visible
Reinstall or otherwise access Bumble, sign in to the correct account and follow the in-app deletion path. If you cannot sign in, contact Bumble support and explain that uninstalling the app was not intended to be account deletion.
You deleted the profile before requesting data
Contact Bumble support as soon as possible and ask for “Request data.” Explain that the profile was recently deleted and provide the account-identifying information support requests. The 28-day restoration period may still be relevant, but Bumble—not an outside guide—must confirm what data can be supplied and how the request will be handled.

Bumble’s process is a support request with a stated aim of up to one calendar month, not a guaranteed immediate button that produces a file. Check that the request was confirmed, retain the case details and follow up through support if the stated period passes.
You assumed deletion canceled billing
Check the subscription channel directly. Bumble says Boost, Premium and Premium+ may not cancel automatically, so complete the separate cancellation process and keep its confirmation.
You want both sides of a chat
Ask the other participant to submit their own data request. Bumble says each person receives their own side of the conversation; one request cannot provide both sides.
What the timelines actually mean
The three figures Bumble publishes describe different events, so they should not be combined into one promise:

The first figure concerns receiving a copy of data. The second concerns recovery of a deleted profile. The third concerns processing a separate erasure request. None of them guarantees that all information is erased at the end of the period, because Bumble lists retention for blocking and legal or regulatory reasons.
