Choose where to get the wallpaper

The catalog route uses Samsung’s Themes service, while saving from a website creates a local image file. Samsung says a Samsung account registered on the phone is required to use Samsung Themes in the Colombia guide. Catalog availability can also vary by country, carrier, phone model, and software version, so the choices on your device may differ.

Download a wallpaper from Samsung’s catalog
Android 14 or later
Samsung’s Colombia guide, updated July 28, 2026, gives this route: open Settings > Wallpaper and style > Change wallpapers, choose an image, select Home screen and/or Lock screen, then continue through the preview and customization steps to finish. The exact labels may differ on another model or in another region.

Samsung provides a separate route for Android 13 or earlier, so do not assume the Android 14 menu sequence applies. Follow the version-specific wallpaper instructions on your phone. Samsung’s UK guide gives an older, explicitly Android 10-era catalog route: press and hold an empty area of the Home screen, tap Wallpapers, then Explore more wallpapers. In the catalog, open Wallpapers, browse or search, select a design, and tap Download. Tap Apply to use it immediately, or return to the catalog to download more. That guide says the downloads appear in My wallpapers; its sequence should not be treated as universal for newer versions.

Save a wallpaper image from a website
- Open the webpage containing the image in your browser.
- Press and hold the image, then choose Save Photo or Save Image. The option name depends on the browser.
- Open Gallery and look for the image, or check the Downloads folder.
Samsung UK describes the saved image as appearing in both Downloads and Gallery. Once it is available in Gallery, use the steps below to set it as wallpaper.
Set an image from Gallery as wallpaper
- Open Gallery and select the image you want to use.
- Tap More options. Samsung’s Colombia guide says this icon is at the top right on Android 14 or later and at the bottom right on Android 13 or earlier.
- Tap Set as wallpaper.
- Choose the available destination, such as the Home screen, Lock screen, or both. Adjust the preview’s size or position if offered, then confirm.
Samsung Japan’s July 29, 2026 instructions describe adjusting an image’s size and position while setting it from Gallery. If the menu or destinations differ, follow the options shown by your Galaxy’s software.

What can limit wallpaper choices?
- Account and catalog access: Samsung’s Colombia guide says a Samsung account registered on the phone is required for Samsung Themes. Samsung support also notes that catalog availability can vary by country, carrier, device model, and software version.
- Launcher: Samsung Japan’s guidance is for One UI Home; some functions may not be available when using a third-party launcher.
- Home screen pages: Samsung Japan says wallpaper cannot be changed separately for each Home screen page.
- Videos and multiple images: Samsung Japan’s guide describes these as Lock screen options, rather than wallpaper choices for both screens.
- Lock screen video or photo: Samsung US says Galaxy devices running One UI 6 can set a Gallery picture or video as Lock screen wallpaper if a Lock screen has already been set up.
Troubleshoot a failed or missing catalog download
A download will not start
Samsung advises checking your network settings and internet connection if a Galaxy Themes download fails. If the catalog is unavailable or its options differ, check the account, country, carrier, model, and software factors above.
A purchased item is missing
For a previously purchased theme, Samsung says to sign in and check Themes > Menu > Purchased items to download it again. If it is still missing, Samsung advises confirming you are signed in and accessing the item from the country where it was purchased.
