To download a picture from a website on a Samsung Galaxy phone, open the page in Samsung Internet or another browser, tap the image or its download link, and confirm Download if prompted. Find the saved file in My Files > Downloads. If you mean receiving a picture from someone nearby, accept it through Quick Share instead.
Download a picture from a website
- Open Samsung Internet or another browser and navigate to the page with the picture.
- Tap the image or the website’s download link. If the browser or site asks you to confirm, choose Download.
- Look for the browser’s download notification or progress indicator. The exact prompt depends on the browser and website.
- When the download finishes, open My Files > Downloads to find it. If you know the filename, use My Files search.
These steps work when the site makes the image available as a downloadable file. Some websites restrict downloads or rely on scripts that do not start one; try the site’s own download control, but there may be no available way to save the image. Find the picture after downloading
Start with My Files
My Files > Downloads is the most dependable general place to look. If the picture is not there, search by filename, then check the app that started the download and its relevant storage location. Where an item is saved can depend on the app and file type.

A downloaded picture may also appear in Gallery, sometimes in an album called Download. That view is not guaranteed for every app or file. Samsung’s South Africa guidance describes Gallery as a possible place to find downloaded pictures; use My Files when you need to locate the actual saved file.

If the picture came from the Google app
If a picture saved through the Google app is missing, check whether that app has storage permission enabled. Samsung UK identifies this as a possible reason an image cannot be found in its file-location guidance.
Receive a picture from another device with Quick Share
Quick Share is for receiving a transfer from another device, not downloading a website image. Accept the incoming transfer, then open the received item; Samsung says it is saved to a supported app. Availability and settings can vary by model and region. Samsung’s Australia-specific Quick Share guide lists a locked receiving device, disabled visibility, or inactive Bluetooth or Wi-Fi among reasons a Galaxy device may not appear.

Fix common download problems
Nothing happens when you tap the picture
The site may block downloads or require a particular download control. Try the site’s own link or button and check that the browser is current. Samsung’s guidance notes that website restrictions can prevent downloads; it does not promise a workaround.

The download stalls or fails
- Check that the phone has a working internet connection.
- Check available storage and make space if needed.
Samsung identifies connectivity and storage as things to check when a download will not complete.

The download finished, but the picture is missing
Search My Files by filename, check Downloads, and consider which app initiated the save. If it was the Google app, check its storage permission. Gallery may show the image, but its albums are not a reliable substitute for locating the file in My Files.
The Quick Share sender cannot see your phone
For the device and setup covered by Samsung Australia’s guide, check that the receiving phone is unlocked and visible, and that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are active as applicable. Menus and availability may differ on other device variants.
