It is scheduled to release as Steam app 4859720 at 17:00 UTC on October 19, 2026, and is announced as playable during Steam Next Fest from October 19 through October 26, 2026. During that window, find Nekome: Nazi Hunter in the Steam client, choose the demo download option, install the separate library entry, and launch Nekome: Nazi Hunter Demo.
This guide explains exactly where to look, what to expect, and what to check if the demo does not appear. The current listing identifies Windows as the supported platform. No CPU, GPU, RAM, or storage minimums have been published for the demo, so use the live Steam page for those details if they are added.

When the demo becomes available
As of October 17, 2026, the announced release window has not started. The listing is scheduled for 17:00 UTC on October 19. Steam Next Fest is announced to run through October 26, so the advertised free play period is October 19–26, inclusive of the event dates.

Availability can change on the store side. If you check before 17:00 UTC on October 19, a missing download button is expected rather than evidence that you have found the wrong game. Check the store page again when the release time arrives. The full game is planned for Q1 2027 and is not yet available on Steam; wishlisting that product does not install the demo.
Convert the release time for your location
The fixed reference is 17:00 UTC on October 19, 2026. Convert that time to your local zone rather than relying on a date shown by a third-party countdown. Steam may display a localized time or simply enable the button when the app is released. If your local clock passes the converted time and the option is still absent, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Download the demo in the Steam client
- Open Steam on a Windows PC. Sign in to the account that will play the demo. The current app metadata lists Windows as the platform; do not assume that a macOS, Linux, or console installation is supported.
- Search for the exact title. Use the Steam search box and enter Nekome: Nazi Hunter. The matching product is the one with the colon and the subtitle “Nazi Hunter.” Similar-looking Neko or N.E.K.O. titles are different products.
- Open the game’s Steam store page. On or after the announced release time, look for the demo download control on that page. Before release, you may see only the full-game information or a wishlist option.
- Choose the demo download option. Select the control that identifies the free demo, not a purchase button for another product. Steam should begin installing the separate demo app, identified in the store data as app 4859720.
- Choose an install location if Steam asks. Select one of your available Steam libraries and confirm the installation. The listing does not state a download size or storage requirement, so rely on the space estimate shown by your Steam client.
- Wait for the download and installation to finish. Open the Downloads view to monitor progress. Do not launch until Steam reports that the demo is installed; an incomplete download can leave the Play control unavailable.
- Launch from your Library. Go to Library, select Nekome: Nazi Hunter Demo, and click Play. The demo should now open as its own library item rather than as a menu inside the unreleased full game.
Find the correct Library entry
After installation, search your Library for “Nekome” if the item is not visible in the most recent-games view. The expected name is Nekome: Nazi Hunter Demo. If you only see a wishlist entry for the full game, return to the store page and check whether the demo control has activated.
Steam’s interface can place newly installed titles in a filtered collection. Clear filters such as “Installed,” “Windows,” or a custom collection if the demo does not appear. The app is separate from the planned full release, so opening the full-game store page and adding it to your wishlist is not the same as downloading app 4859720.

If the download button is missing
You are checking before release
The scheduled release is October 19, 2026 at 17:00 UTC. Before that moment, the app may be listed without an active install button. Recheck after the release time and during the announced October 19–26 Next Fest period.
You searched for a different game
Use the complete title Nekome: Nazi Hunter. The demo belongs to that game, not to another product with “Neko” or “N.E.K.O.” in its name. Confirm the subtitle on the store page before downloading.
Steam has stale store data
Close and reopen the Steam client, then revisit the store page. You can also sign out and back in if the listing still shows an old state. These steps refresh the client’s session; they do not move the release time earlier.
The store page shows the full game only
The full game is planned for Q1 2027 and is not yet available. Look specifically for a demo control on the game’s page and check your Library for a separate demo entry. A wishlist button is useful for following the full release but does not provide demo access.

The event has ended
The official announcement promises free play during October 19–26, 2026. The official announcement does not establish whether the separate demo will remain downloadable after Next Fest. If the button disappears after October 26, check the live store page for a new availability notice rather than assuming the app was removed permanently.
Install and start your first run
Once Steam finishes downloading, select the demo in your Library and click Play. The first launch may display the game’s own settings or input prompts. Use the options presented by the build you installed; no fixed graphics presets, controller requirements, or launch parameters have been published for this demo.
If Steam shows “Play” but the game does not open, first confirm that the download status is complete and that Windows has not paused Steam’s update queue. Relaunch Steam and try again. If the game reports a hardware or driver issue, consult the current Steam page for any requirements or compatibility notes that may have been added since the initial listing. Do not rely on an invented minimum specification: none is stated on the listing.
What the Nekome demo contains
Horde of the Reich
The demo focuses on Horde of the Reich, described as an extra mode rather than a complete presentation of the planned full game. Your objective is to survive 25 increasingly brutal stages and pursue a high score.

Combat and survival options
The announcement identifies four parts of the mode’s play: stealth, brawling, gunplay, and improvised weapons. That combination means the demo is intended to test several approaches to surviving its stages. You can experiment with avoiding attention, fighting at close range, using firearms, and turning available objects into weapons, subject to what each stage makes possible.
Unlockable skills and scoring
Unlockable skills are part of the listed mode, so progression is not limited to simply replaying an unchanged sequence. The high-score objective gives repeated runs a clear purpose: learn a stage, choose a more effective approach, survive farther, and improve your score. The announcement does not specify skill trees, score multipliers, leaderboards, save behavior, or whether all 25 stages must be completed in one sitting; treat those details as build-specific until the demo explains them in game.

Windows support
The separate app’s current Steam metadata lists Windows. That is the supported platform identified for this release. The listing does not establish native support for macOS, Linux, SteamOS, consoles, or handheld compatibility, so do not assume that a non-Windows device can run it just because Steam itself is installed there.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →No published hardware minimums yet
The listing provides no exact CPU, GPU, RAM, operating-system version, or storage minimums. Before installing, check the live Steam page for a system-requirements section. If none is shown, Steam can still present the space estimate during installation, but that estimate is not a substitute for a published hardware requirement.

Family Sharing is not available
Steam Family Sharing excludes this demo. The account that downloads the app should therefore be the account intended to play it. Sharing another user’s library will not provide access to this demo through the Family Sharing feature.
Demo timing versus the full game
| Question | Demo | Full game |
|---|---|---|
| Can you play it now? | Not before the announced October 19, 2026 release time; advertised for October 19–26 during Next Fest | No; planned for Q1 2027 and not yet available on Steam |
| How is it installed? | As a separate free Steam app, ID 4859720 | Not available for installation yet |
| What content is identified? | Horde of the Reich, 25-stage survival and high-score mode | Final content is not established by the demo announcement |
| Platform information | Windows in current app metadata | Not established by the listing |
| Steam Family Sharing | Excluded | Not applicable while unreleased |
Use the demo listing when you want to play Horde of the Reich during the event. Use the full-game page only to follow the planned Q1 2027 release; it is a different product state and cannot replace the demo download.
A practical checklist
- Confirm the title reads Nekome: Nazi Hunter.
- Check the date and time: October 19, 2026 at 17:00 UTC.
- Use a Windows PC, since that is the platform listed for the demo.
- On the store page, select the free demo control rather than only wishlisting the full game.
- Verify that Steam installs a separate Library item named Nekome: Nazi Hunter Demo.
- Wait for installation to complete, then select the demo and click Play.
- Expect Horde of the Reich, 25 stages, high-score play, stealth, brawling, gunplay, unlockable skills, and improvised weapons.
- Do not expect Family Sharing access; the demo is excluded.
- If requirements or post-event availability change, use the live Steam page as the current authority.
What to do after playing
Because the demo is built around a 25-stage high-score mode, a useful second session is to revisit stages with a different approach. Compare a stealth-focused attempt with a run that relies more on brawling, gunplay, or improvised weapons, and note how unlockable skills affect your route. The announcement does not promise that progress carries into the full game, so treat demo progression and scores as part of this standalone test unless the game itself states otherwise.
Keep the demo installed if you want to continue practicing during the announced event. If you remove it and the event has ended, the available information does not guarantee that it can be downloaded again. Check the current Steam listing before uninstalling if continued access matters to you.
